“A friendly local with Sagres on tap. It works well for me.”
“A really cosy and somewhat secluded building not far from Queens Park Rangers football club. The pub (The Queen’s Tavern) is no longer in use but the rest of the building is now a hostel. Quiet part of town at night but warm, friendly hostel for the more mature than the rowdy bunch.”
“Couldn't fault a thing. The staff were super friendly and helpful. The room was beautifully presented and clean with great facilities. It was quiet, comfortable and we had a great night's sleep. Breakfast was included and it was top notch - without doubt the best buffet breakfast we have ever had in a UK hotel. Even the coffee was delicious! We would definitely stay there or at another Toby Carvery again and would highly recommend it.”
“Stopped here for a bite to eat while waiting for my flight, honestly, I'm pretty shocked at the low review of this place, it was pretty good! I decided to get the meat pie of the day which was a steak pie and it came with gravy, mashed potatoes and heated greens. For an airport, I don't know what more you could ask for. Sure, it was pricy, loud, and busy, but it's an airport. If you're here looking for a luxury quant experience I suggest touching grass instead.”
“⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Hyderabadi Bawarchi – East Ham Authentic halal food, amazing atmosphere, and VIP seating that makes dining extra comfy! Huge shoutout to the owner Kishore, plus Srinivas and Sashi — their hospitality is next level. Felt right at home from start to finish. If you love delicious food and top-notch service, this is the place to be!”
“I was looking for somewhere local for a traditional Sunday roast and I am pleased that I chose the Marquis. Food and drink were excellent. The service by Isabel was first class. Recommended.”
“Beautiful experience in cinema Nice and clean all around Nearest eastern food court provided with plenty seating”
“went to the George II for Mother's Day. Fantastic atmosphere, live singer. The Carvery was also exceptional and congratulate the Chef. Food was hot, good quality and plenty of it and options. The food was better than top London restauants iv been to which I would compare to San Lorenzo's which was Lady Di's favourite well the food and presentation was better than San Lorenzo's. Would highly recommend, On Mother's Day it was heaving but the staff worked so hard and the service wasn't compromised nor was the food.”
“We recently celebrated my 2nd wedding anniversary at Dawat restaurant and it was a wonderful experience. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. The staff was incredibly accommodating, ensuring everything went smoothly for our celebration. A big thank you to Dawat team for making our special day even more memorable. Highly recommend this place for great food and warm hospitality.”
“I used to go to the basement under protest 20 odd years ago. Was never a fan at all, would prefer the other end of Chelmsford. Ended up in here with friends at Christmas (easily led after a few beers) and was really impressed. It's undergone a lot of changes, which made the whole experience so much better. Would gladly come back on another night out.”
“This review is for the private rooms. It's a clean, quiet room for an unbeatable price in London. I've stayed here twice on extended layovers in the UK, once in August 2024 and once in June 2025. The sheets and the bed are clean, and I appreciate that they have a full kitchen and ironing services. Respectfully, when looking for budget stays in London you do need to adjust your expectations. I've stayed in a number of budget hotels over the years and this is the only one that didn't have carpet mites or a mildew-y smell. London really is one of those places where it's worth it to upgrade your housing. This isn't a 5* experience by any means, just a safe and clean place to hang your hat when you're rarely going to be in the room anyways. I will say that this time the bathrooms were nowhere near as clean as last time. It was worth it to wait until late morning and use the facilities right after the cleaners. It seemed to me that there was a lot more long term residents there, mostly men, so it didn't have the same vibes as last time. I think it's probably a commentary on the global economic situation than anything else. The staff have always been pleasant, by UK service standards. :) Keep in mind their policies regarding cash that are provided when booking to avoid any phaff.”
