“I visited this restaurant during the second lockdown for takeaway service. I felt very welcome and found the restaurant clean. The staff were very attentive and there is always a wide range to choose from. I will particularly recommend their grilled fish range!! Their salads are lovingly prepared and looks, smells and tastes healthy. There range of smoothies are also great! Especially the detox range. It's a nice eclectic mixture of the Middle East, North Africa and Modern healthy cuisine. The cherry on top was a free falafel I was asked to taste and I swear, I have never tasted such a delightful falafel! I will never go back to the supermarket bought ones for sure! Highly recommended.”

Their chicken satay is amazing and I’ve never tried a dish I didn’t like. We also order the soups regularly which are just fab. Portions are generous and the food is always so fresh. “Highly recommend the beef and fungus stir fry noodle which was full of flavours. We ordered the lamb with naan dish as well. The lamb was tender. The naan got quite soggy if you don’t eat fast enough and the dish was very filling. We prefer the sauce in the noodle dish and found the lamb dish a bit on the blend side. Overall, it’s a good place to go for Uyghur cuisine.”

Since there wasn't any people at the time we came they brought the food for us to the table and while we were eating the chef came to us asking if everything is fine. Super impressed with this place the only thing i was gutted about is that they didn't let me change my pulled beef into a beef patty but apart from that everything was great and I will definitely visit again.”

“Proper hidden gem. Don’t let the appearance fool you, this place is well worth a visit. Every time I’m in east London, this is where I’m eating. The lamb mandi is stunning. The sauces are spicy and excellent. The rice is cooked to perfection and the perfect balance of sweet and savoury. Value for money, this place is hard to beat. I love how it’s full of locals. Feels a proper traditional Somali dining experience. They were amused at my confusion of being served a banana with my food, which I’m told is a Somali staple. Tried it the Somali way, and they were right.”

The spread was generous and beautifully presented from freshly baked simit and warm bread to rich cheeses, olives, honey with clotted cream, and a perfectly brewed Turkish tea. Every bite was full of authentic flavors that transported me straight to Turkey. The menemen (scrambled eggs with tomato and pepper) was especially delicious and creamy, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned. The staff (Hatice) was very welcoming and attentive, making the whole experience even better. The cozy atmosphere and vibrant dishes made for a relaxing and satisfying morning. If you love hearty, flavorful breakfasts, I can’t recommend Aksular enough!”
