    Bridge Theatre

“A Modern Gem of a Theatre The Bridge Theatre is a bit out of the way from the Tube, but don't let that stop you. The walk along the river, with views of the Tower of London and Tower Bridge, is one of the best strolls in London. It's almost worth going just for that! We saw "Guys and Dolls" here - fantastic show, though heads up, it's a long one at nearly 3 hours. We opted for seats rather than the standing "immersive" experience, and I'm glad we did. The seats are super comfy, and I'm not sure I'd have enjoyed running around the rising platforms for that long. But hey, if you're up for an adventure, go for it! The theatre itself is sleek and modern - a refreshing change from some of the older West End venues. The sound and staging were top-notch, and (in my opinion) there wasn't a bad seat in the house. My tips: - Guys and Dolls - Book seats if you want comfort, standing if you're feeling adventurous and allow plenty of time - shows can be long. - Enjoy the walk there - it's part of the experience (so get there early and there are plenty of places to eat and drink before the show). - Check out the bar before the show - great atmosphere I'm already looking forward to catching more shows here. It's not just a theatre, it's a whole evening out in one of London's coolest spots. Definitely worth a visit, even if you're not a regular theatre-goer.”

Parking is good, you don’t need to put reg in. Also took a picture of cocktail I recommend, and the mocktail version of it. I had a mocktail this time as was driving but the cocktail version tastes the same :). I recommend the calamari for a starter, and always a steak or burger for main!”

Didn’t matter who I spoke to, everyone was so friendly and accommodating. I will absolutely be bringing my staff party here for a night out - cocktails are incredible, plus they have every drink we could possibly need. While I appreciate everyone I’ve had the pleasure of meeting, a big shoutout to Sophie and Luke for sorting us an area on a busy night, Luke with the logistics and Sophie with the greatest vibes. 100% recommend coming here for any occasion, food is sublime, drinks the best in Wandsworth, and service top top tier. The Bohemia

“Impromptu roast at The Bohemia. On entering the bar is clean, tidy, and well presented. We found a table and within minutes staff had greeted us and taken our drinks and meal orders. Drinks arrived quickly, and because the bar was busy and we had a short wait, when they brought our drinks, they gave us a cup of complimentary popcorn to keep us going! It's an absolutely brilliant idea! (The popcorn was lovely, by the way). Our Sunday roasts arrived quicker than we expected for a busy bar. I had the nut roast, and hubby had the slow braised beef... they were exceptional!! There is nothing i can fault or complain about. The roasties were crunchy on the outside, yet soft and fluffy in the middle. The veg was seasoned to perfection, and no word of a lie, the nut roast was the best i have ever had! And as for the Yorkshire pudding, well, it was huge but just melted as you ate it!! Throughout our meal, the staff were really attentive, they made sure we were happy with our food and had enough drinks to keep us going. We regularly find ourselves in North Finchley, but i have never ventured into The Bohemia.. that will definitely change from now onwards, and we will definitely be back for another roast!!”

Friendly helpful staff and tasty top-notch Sunday roast with perfect wine, and the best cooked breakfast. Lots of attention to detail that we really appreciated. It was quiet in the pub, not a lively atmosphere, which was surprising as it’s great food and relaxed, gorgeous surroundings. Maybe because it was a Sunday out of season? Would definitely recommend and visit again if in the area.”

    The Kings Arms

    ★★★★☆ 4.5
    Open

“The King’s Arms, tucked behind Guy’s Hospital, is the sort of place London keeps half-hidden, as if to test whether you really meant to find it. It does not lean on a station concourse or spill directly onto the roar of London Bridge; instead it sits a step or two back from the main artery, watching the traffic of stretchers, students and office workers go by with the air of a veteran actor who has seen several casts come and go. I went in with the usual city-man’s impatience. There was a train to be caught at some point, a message unanswered, and I asked for a Guinness with that foolish little phrase, “as quick as you can.” The barman, seasoned in the quiet wars between haste and habit, was unmoved. He pulled the stout with deliberate care, set it down to settle, and let the dark column slowly resolve into black and cream while the room hummed around us. Only when the timing was exactly right—some private calculation of his own—did he top it off and send it my way. In that small refusal to be rushed there was something almost old-fashioned, as though the pub itself were insisting that certain standards, like certain feelings, cannot be short-cut. There is history steeped into its woodwork—fervent, if you care to listen. Porters and surgeons from Guy’s have been fortifying their nerves here for generations: housemen fresh from the wards, nurses in borrowed minutes, students whispering over examination results. Before them, one imagines river men and clerks from the old London Bridge markets, all seeking a brief amnesty from the city’s demands. The décor changes, the cocktails improve, but the essential function remains curiously constant: a place where paths cross, old friends reappear as if summoned, and London itself seems, for an hour, almost human. The King’s Arms may be in one of the most connected corners of the capital, but inside, over a pint poured with proper patience, you have the distinct sense that you are allowed—just briefly—not to be going anywhere at all.”
