“I found this little place almost by chance-and I just LOVED it. The food was amazing (price was also very low and portions enormous!), the perfect balance between spice and sour (I had their fermented flat bread with 3 different daals and 2 veggie sides). The owner is the sweetest person ever and it is more than clear that this is not a job for him, but a passion. The place is tiny (which is a pro-makes it cozier!) and super welcoming, with decor that makes you truly feel jumping into the Ethiopian culture! They offered me their typical spice tea: a must have! Just a very lovely experience, absolutely recommended if you love simple and authentic things.”

“Absolutely delicious food. Highly recommend the charcoal grilled meats. You will not be disappointment. We had the grilled lamb main and chicken wings this time and the meat was tender and juicy. Will try the other ones next time. Also loved the smoked aubergine purée dip as well. Honestly all the food dishes were great and the portion size are good too. All the food we tried were great but sadly I forgot to take photos of them as was too focus on eating. We tried their house wines and they weren’t bad neither. This is now our new favourite local place to eat and will definitely add this place to our rotation!”

It was easily one of the best Modern British meals I’ve had in the city, even better than my experience at the 3 Michelin-starred Core by Clare Smyth. Everything was spot on: the breads, the beef tartare, the salmon, and the desserts (souffle and madeleines) were all beautifully executed and full of flavour. The service was friendly and professional, and the atmosphere felt relaxed and welcoming, not overly formal, which can sometimes be the case at Michelin-starred places. “Lovely place. I have been here a number of times, Jimmy and Sue are both lovely and put pride in their work. Food is always great and more importantly fresh, and I don't think I have had a bad dish! We always go with friends or family. Our go to's are Lobster noodles, salted n pepper giant king prawns, beef ho fun, special fried rice, scallops, crab claws, chicken curry and many more!”

“What a lovely place! We are here on a Tuesday evening so very quiet. We have stayed for 3 drinks and decided to try the food. Onion bhajis are light and crispy. The green chilli chicken is spicy. SPICY and I am here for it even though it made my tongue numb. The Gunter chicken has a delicious sauce and the bread is fab! Will definitely be back even though Jumbo the life size elephant scares the shit out of me!”
