“Not had fish and chips for years. Looked up where to go as my son requested a bday treat while keeping up his lent restrictions. Our meals were all very good, especially the size and batter on the fish. Was crispy, not wet or stodgy at all. The owner Sam was very friendly, welcoming and went out of his way to accommodate us. He even threw in extra chips and a really lovely fresh salad for free. My mum was fascinated by how clean the shop was too. Would definitely visit again and recommend to others. All over great experience from start to finish!!”

The salmon and tuna poke bowls were equally impressive, with fresh, vibrant ingredients harmonized by a spicy mayonnaise dressing that brought just the right amount of heat and creaminess. Every bite felt balanced and thoughtfully prepared, showcasing the kitchen’s knack for blending bold flavors with comfort. To top it all off, we sipped on their latte, which was surprisingly excellent—smooth, well-balanced, and the perfect complement to the meal. “Lovely little gem in Putney! Beautifully cooked, genuine Spanish food is so hard to come by in London but this place nailed it. The waitress was super helpful at answering our questions and anything she couldn’t answer was directed to the owner who was cooking solo in the kitchen. Had a really nice chat with both of them when settling up the bill at closing. Will be back in the not too distant future to try the rest of the menu!”

“I had a very comfortable and most pleasant stay at Kew Rooms for 4 night in May 2018. My room and bathroom were very clean and comfortable. Sheets and towels were very clean. The host Geoff and his wife were very helpful and made me very welcomed. Breakfast was simple but very adequate. Chance to meet people from other countries who were staying there. Location is fantastic - 7 minute walk to Kew Gardens tube and 10 minutes to Kew Gardens Park. Fully recommend Kew Rooms if you happen to be in that part of London. My rating: 4.5*/5* or 9/10”
