“Real pub, great landlord, lovely staff, great prices!”

“I had a wonderful stay at this hotel in London. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly, always ready to assist with anything I needed. The location is fantastic, with easy access to public transport, nearby attractions, and plenty of conveniences around. The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable, making it perfect for a relaxing stay after a long day of exploring the city. Another highlight was the in-house pub, which served delicious food and a good selection of beers. It was a great spot to unwind without even leaving the hotel. Overall, I had a pleasant experience and would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting London.”

“Wow just wow! I found this little gem not too long again and haven’t left since! The atmosphere and staff are unbeatable and prices are so reasonable. If you’re looking for a little pre drink vibe before your night out or a night at the pub with all your best mates this is the place. Don’t get me started on the themed nights always so much effort that goes in and it doesn’t go unnoticed! 10/10 would recommend!”

“Brilliant local independent family run, proper old skool pub for drinkers. I'm lucky to live right opposite. Great atomosphere, always friendly. Nice seating area at the front. Very reasonable prices. Try it out! There is no food here, but some snacks and small bites sometimes. Now has a nice garden area at the back.”

“We have family who lives in London and have visited at least 10 times over the past 10 years and have eaten at a great many restaurants and pubs. The meal we had tonight at The Windsor Castle was the best we have had in London. The cauliflower and chicken appetizers were both done gluten free to accommodate my daughter and were outstanding. My wife's fish and chips were perfectly crispy outside and moist inside and my lamb rump roast and all 4 sides could have been from a fine dining restaurant costing more than twice as much. I will be telling our family about it and would highly recommend it.”

“Is this the future of the British pub? I hope so! It's hard to find such a huge collection of ales and ciders anywhere in the UK. It's quite spacious for a 'micro', with plenty of seating and standing room. Very handy for Hornchurch FC on match days. Excellent!”

“Fantastic place to stop and shop for a bottle, or even better sit down and have a glass or two. Excellent, carefully chosen selection of wine. Great recommendations from the wonderful Mandi: a great value Ribera and a surprisingly top notch Californian (Brickmason). We took a table and really enjoyed a few hours of some great wine, lovely cheese, cool music, and a generally lovely time.”

“Really nice large beer garden. Plenty of sun and good cover too on the side booths, for when it's too hot. Great food and the portion size was just right. Fish & chips and a beer came to just under £25.”

“We went there to see "as December falls". I will be honest, I'm in my late 40's and went mainly to support my youngest (20). I can honestly say I really enjoyed myself, it had the vibe of a rock/metal gig venue from 25-30 years ago, everyone looking out for each other, but with a modern twist, a new generation following the old school values of doing their best to just love the music and doing all the can to help others enjoy it too. The other thing that struck me is the price of drinks, here in Surrey we are sadly used to being hammered by drink prices, and I fully expected the drinks to be on the he pricey side, especially as we were a captive audience, that had choice but pay the prices they charged. The date was the 15/08/2025 and 2 single vodkas with cranberry came to £11 (something). I have paid a lot more in places I have enjoy far less in the area. Finally, without going into detail, we had some additional needs, we needed a chair for the gig part, and honestly it was no trouble, we told one person at the bar, I didn't catch his name, but but the time we got into the gig part, all the staff knew, and were descreetly on hand if needed Thanks to all the staff at the fighting cocks, those at banquet records who ran the music part, and to As December Falls for a brilliant albeit hot and sticky night”

“My family and I went to the crossing and had the best experience. The food was great and the drinks too! Special mention to our great waiter Harry - attentive with a fun touch to the service. A great waiter really brings the meal to another level and Harry performed!”

“We arrived to a stunning display of hanging baskets outside the pub, walked in to meet two lovely hosts who were really jolly and showed us to a table. The meal itself was delicious (and huge, we both had roasts that we had to take portions home) but I think what set it apart was the service. Everyone was so attentive and the aforementioned hosts were making conversation with the guests and showing genuine interest in everyone. It was a really really lovely pub. Highly recommend!”

“The best pub in West norwood! Friendly community vibe, great garden and brilliant air con when it's really hot. Also a large shed for hire out the back which hosted my daughters birthday parties for years, free and accommodating to whatever suits your needs. Highly recommended for unpretentious vibes and welcoming atmosphere, love this pub and Sarah and Robin ❤️”

“A lovely find we stumbled upon by chance, being in the neighbourhood. I would recommend booking in advance for Sunday roast. There’s a lovely ambiance, good selection of drinks (and good wines), very kind people running the place, books for kids, and gentle jazz music on Sundays.”

“best roast of my life and I'm not even exaggerating! never been here before and we will have to come back. lovely friendly service from the bartender, she was super kind and friendly, you can tell she's just an absolute delight. the pork belly roast is THE one. never had pork belly so good, and the portion size was massive. veg was great too, especially parsnips and carrots. I'm a bit wary of London roasts as they tend to be a waste of money but this was amazing. 100/10, would definitely recommend.”

“Came here twice in 1 week, the first time was on Tuesday for some shisha and I ended up having some cocktails that I like that were not on the menu but the bartender made them and they was awesome. I saw some food come out and decided to book a table for Saturday with my fiancée. Cue today (Saturday) and we have both just had some really tasty and freshly cooked food. She had the chicken thighs and I had the lamb chops. Each of the meats were cooked to perfection and were juicy and nicely marinated. Both dishes came with plenty of side salad and you could choose skin or fries or rice or upgrade to sweet potato fries, we opted for white rice and skin on fries, the fries were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, I had the white rice and it was really good although from the portion size I could not finish it all. They also do an option for take out boxes. They do not have disabled toilets but the toilets are big enough to be a manual wheelchair user and access the toilets. They have a lovely inside area, nice and spacious and outside they have a conservatory where the shisha bar is and a garden plus a little outhouse seating area. The waiter staff are amazing and welcoming as are the bartenders. I would definitely recommend this place and I look forward to returning soon.”

“Came here to Celebrate our anniversary had the most amazing Sunday lunch (we had the roast to share). The staff were all very friendly and nothing was to much for them. They are very dog friendly and have treats for them. Will definitely be back”
