“‘Best day ever!’ My son, who turned 5 on the 24th August, counted down his entire summer holidays until the day arrived when he was finally old enough to go to Lazer Lions with his big brother… and it did not disappoint! Zorbing, go-karts, football, nerf gun battles, music, dancing, crafting, outdoors playing; there was so much to do and explore! The team at Lazers Lions SASM went above and beyond to make his day magical - it will certainly be one to remember. “A pub I've been meaning to write up for a while but haven't been too sure on when to dive into it. It's a local community pub, one of the very few independent ones in the area, but one I barely frequent, and I've not really got a good reason as to why. The first trip I went here, it was a cold covidy afternoon, and I was relegated to the sea of sofas in the garden. Collected together, like the aftermath of a flood having ripped through the front rooms of an entire village, a mish mash of the comfiest seats a pub garden has ever seen. To get there you'd need to hop on through the pub, greeted by locals playing board games with a nod, a lone bloke chewing the ear off the bar staff about the complexities of the Marvel universe pausing only to let you order, or a live band in the corner on Thursday & Sundays. A beer fridge is well stocked, keg beers are your accessible macro gear, but most come for the ale. Expertly kept rotating cask selection; you'll typically find Oakham, Surrey Hills or a couple of obscurer local breweries. Invariably served with a sparkler. The pub itself dates back to the late 1800s, and even used to have a small brewery on site, but it's only since Liz and Adam took it over that it's become this beacon of light amongst a sea of Young's pubs. It won multiple CAMRA awards in the mid 2010s, and continues to champion quality ale. Food wise they've chopped and changed. BBQ burger nights, slow pulled meats and veggie options, cheese nights too, and on the weekend I went they had "Emma" (forgot the IG tag), churning out Middle Eastern dishes, orders coming in early doors on a Sunday. Bar snacks knocking about, but few pubs in the area offer their location up to pop-ups, so it's nice to see the variety. It's a cosy place, you'll not find another one like it really, and to get 2 (good) pints south of a tenner in these parts is worthy of praise alone. Having done almost double digit visits now, I've never had the same experience twice in terms of locals, beers, Rona rules and food, yet the vibe remains the same. Welcoming, hospitable and inviting - a pub fully deserving of all the praise the locals have bestowed upon it.”

“Sutherland has been a great nursery! Our son really enjoyed his time there, but he had to leave due to relocation. The highlight was the staff who were very kind and sweet. My son settled very well after a couple of weeks. He often wanted a morning cuddle from the staff with a smile on his face when I dropped him off in the morning. They did lots of fun activities, like making cards, costume party, celebration for national book day and sensory activities. The management team is very responsive. When I asked about the dietary plan and requested more meals with meat/fish, they acted in a few days to increase to 4 days/week with meat/fish. We also like their onsite kitchen so all the food could be prepared freshly for our son :) Their financial manager Julia is very friendly and helpful. She usually replies my email promptly with detailed answers. When my son needed to leave after giving notice, they made some adaptation for our schedule and waived some of the fee. That was very appreciated! We were a bit shocked by the 48hr quarantine policy regardless of the child's illness. That was challenging for us as two full-time working parents, but the manager said that policy will be reviewed in the future. Overall, our experience with Sutherland was great!”

“A little gem. Went here last night very friendly nice lady serving us we decided to have the Korean hot pot as we had never tried before and sounded really nice. We had to move tables as all are not equipped with heat for the hot pot but it wasn’t an issue. The food came quick and tasted absolutely delicious. On top of that it was pretty good value for money. A nice little place with nice staff and amazing food what more could you ask for. Will definitely be going back.”

“A good Wetherspoons pub which is a great local in Surbiton, they have left many good architectural attributes of the original building and should be commended. Good selection of beers, spirits, wines and soft drinks. Plenty of seating but does get busy. Food selection isa good quality selection at reasonable prices. Staff always attentive and friendly. Road parking outside BUT plenty of public transport available.”

“Both Suzanne and Christian have the knowledge of technique, form, and style to teach a person. They have true passion for dance, dedication and patience. They motivate students to desire to achieve good dancing, keep learning, and continue to progress to acquire the highest skills possible. I do really enjoy their classes. Christian has a way of breaking down the steps and make it fun. Suzanne’s ability to put me at ease is as masterful as her teaching skills combined with sense of humour ( Christian also :)) is an added plus for a person such as myself who has a little experience of dancing Kizomba but loving it soo much…. so the lessons are not only informative, but enjoyable at the same time. The choice of music for the lessons and social afterwards is an absolute pleasure to listen to and dance to. They both are great teachers to be around and learn from with great sense of humour.”

“We had a 60th birthday here and can honestly say it was amazing! David the owner was fantastic and really attentive. The price was really good & the DJ is included in the price! They provide a a balloon arch, lighting, decorations and you can bring your own food which definitely saves some money! Would absolutely recommend this venue for an event. We set up the morning of and they cleared the decorations for us the next day. We also had the outside terrace just for our party which was a great bonus!”
