“My wife had been before, so she already knew what to expect, but for me it was something completely new. We were slightly pressed for time as we had a train to catch back up north, so I was a little worried about queues and delays. Sure enough, when we arrived there was already a queue forming outside, and the weather looked like it was about to turn. Thankfully, the team at Dishoom were quick to act – we were seated outside almost immediately, and service began straight away. That efficiency made a big difference, as it meant we could relax and enjoy the meal without clock-watching. The setting itself was welcoming, even outdoors. Despite the looming rain, the atmosphere carried the lively, bustling energy that jaipur is known for. There’s a sense that you’re part of something bigger than just a restaurant – more like a communal dining experience where everyone is there for the same reason: good food and a warm vibe. By the time we were leaving, the rain had just started to fall, which made the timing feel almost perfect. As for the food, it really was excellent. Everything we ordered arrived quickly and was cooked to perfection. jaipur has a reputation for bold, flavourful Indian dishes that balance authenticity with modern touches, and that was exactly what we experienced. From the seasoning to the presentation, nothing felt rushed despite our limited time. It’s rare to feel both unhurried and well-looked after in such a busy spot, but the staff managed it brilliantly. Overall, taste of jaipur was a fantastic first-time experience for me. Efficient service, delicious food, and great timing meant we left full, happy, and on schedule for our train.”

“This was my first visit to this restaurant which was chosen by my client for a business meeting because he is vegan. There are more Plant Based options on the menu than not and they all looked / tasted great. For those of us who also eat meat, I can say the venison was spectacular. Both of us left having truly appreciated a fantastic meal. The venue was perfect, great location in a sophisticated part of town and the ambience was well judged. It's not the biggest restaurant but there was enough space between tables to have discrete conversations without concern. As a further vote of confidence, I will be visiting again in the new year with my wife... AND DOG :) Sean, our fantastic waiter positively encouraged me to bring our dog. Table 6 is probably best if you bring your furry friend because its a little removed from the other tables. I'm looking forward to my next visit - thanks again for the great service Sean.”

“I visited Rai for my birthday lunch as a solo diner and chose the 13-course Omakase. It was an incredible, intimate experience where the chef’s expertise really shone - each dish was beautifully crafted, and watching the skill and precision behind them made it even more special. The fish was unbelievably fresh and melted in my mouth; every course felt like a new favourite. Standouts for me were the butterfish, eel with grated black truffle, spicy scallop, and the black cod main. The service was exceptional - attentive, friendly, and made me feel very welcome dining alone. A lovely surprise was a complimentary glass of champagne and a birthday dessert with a candle, which made the whole experience extra memorable. Rai truly delivered a 5-star dining experience and made my birthday feel very special. Highly recommend for anyone wanting to enjoy a refined and beautifully thought-out omakase in London.”

“We had a whole Birthday evening arranged for my girlfriend, we were to come to you guys and then go to a show. You guys got us in and out so quick as we had a few issues getting into London and we’re behind but you looked after us so we’ll in such a short amount of time we felt so valued and the food was absolutely fantastic we could not fault it in any way. Anyway the show got cancelled last minute so we came back to you and had an even better evening than expected!! My girl worked her way through your cocktail list, of which were all very very good, and she’s a hard one to please but she loved every single one. I had nearly every non alcoholic cocktail you make and was equally impressed. We sat and watched you all working the kitchen was mesmerising to see in action and we really felt that we were genuinely looked after not just customers on the end of the bar that needed seeing to. Thank you so so much for making what could have been a washout a very pleasurable experience and we will be coming back very soon with friends next time.”

“Cute neighborhood spot with delicious food! I’ve been on the lookout for a nice restaurant in this area. I feel like a lot of places are either super touristy or overpriced and not very tasty. I’m so happy I found this gem. We went for lunch on a Friday and had some Santorini wine to go with the hummus. The restaurant felt comfortable and I enjoyed the large window at the front. As we were talking away, eating out hummus. We ordered the Greek salad and musaka. Both the bright salad and musaka were excellent. I feel like I took a trip to Mykonos for my Friday afternoon. We also got to try the spicy feta and eggplant dip, which is really recommend. The server was really lovely and he made our experience 10/10. I would definitely be back.”
