“First visit Christmas Day Lunchtime, the staff were very welcoming and the place was busy, we were made to feel that we were regulars, which made this pub, one of in my opinion old school , Dartboard, plenty of conversations, a great choice of Beers at the bar, a lovely first visit to a good friendly boozer.”

“Such a nice little pub to unwind, especially if you don’t want anything crazy for the night but just enjoying a drink with friends and have a great meal. Food is really nice and it came in fast. The staff is friendly and thoughtful. They have darts and table tennis so you can enjoy a game while at it too! Recommend.”

“Not able to judge the food (they dont sell any) or the atmosphere (as no one else was in) but the bar itself is wonderful. Only small, with an indoor upstairs seating area & a small section out front with tables & chairs (only good for dry days) Theres also a beer garden to the rear apparently (never tried it)? Although limited for bar space the beer selection is good. More often than not there are 3 locally brewed ales on cask & 8 beers on keg, which usually includes a dark one. Altrincham born & bred Iv'e been coming here since it opened in the early 2000s and despite both it sister bars closing (Chorlton & Liverpool) luckily this bar continues to trade. I wish there was a greater choice, but should you be unable to find something unsuitable on cask/keg, they also have a well stocked fridge with numerous craft ales so im confident you'll find something suitable. Not the cheapest of bars, but far from the most expensive. OK, its getting a little tired around the edges now & the downstairs disabled toilets could do with a bit of a face lift, but all that said I still highly recommend this place.”

“Next to the train station, so location is perfect if you traveling. The Eggs benedict with salmon was absolutely delicious. Eggs melted in my mouth and portion size was just right. The staff was attentive and polite. Cannot ask for more when looking to have great breakfast!”

“This pub is run by 2 honest good people , who don’t tolerate drugs on the premises , and bad behaviour , since owning the pub they have worked hard to make customers feel safe/welcome , and decent honest people all say the same”

“Love this pub inside and out. It’s got so much history and charm. The building used to be the Manchester & Salford Children’s Mission back in Victorian times, where they ran a kitchen for kids and the homeless. Now it’s this brilliant underground pub, and you can still see the old glazed brick walls when you head downstairs, which just adds to the atmosphere. I’d love to see more of that story told inside. There are a few old photos up, but no info with them... a bit of context would make it even better. Doesn’t put me off going though, it’s still one of my favourite spots in Manchester.”

“Tried here for the first time today when we arrived we were greeted with open arms and seated straight away which was a shock because it was soooo busy..the food was really good with a very generous portion and really good value for money.. Drinks menu was massive and beer and cider was so cheap.. Excellent place and well worth a visit..”

“Recently took my Velar here due to the engine warning light coming on. They fitted me in despite being very busy. They properly investigated the issue rather than just replacing a part unnecessarily. Would highly recommend.”

“Went for a family 50th birthday, pre booked online which was very easy to do. Tables ready as we arrived, staff attentive, very friendly and looked after us all really well. Food is lovely, catered for all ages and requirements. Staff even presented me with a birthday card and a beautiful dessert trio . Highly recommend.”

“Just had a mixed kebab of chicken and Donna meat, it was so good, plenty of chicken and loads of Donna, the bread was thin and tasty, plenty of fresh salad. It was one of the best I have had, will definitely go back and recommend it”

“Me and my wife were looking for an Italian for lunch after a killers concert. We found this place and absolutely loved it. It's a small family owned place and the owner and other staff made us feel very welcome. The food is authentic Italian. I had a pizza and my wife the lasagna. I would highly recommend this to anyone”

We found a table right away despite it being busy (as expected) whilst people were taking advantage of the outdoor seating area. The food arrived quickly and was delicious! “I cannot fault this Inn! Having wanted to visit the Navi for a few years after visiting the area. I finally got around to it this weekend. What a treat! The Inn is very welcoming and cosy as soon as you walk in and has been finished to a high standard. However, the true gem in the crown is the food! A great selection to meet any requirements and a fantastic list of specials! All the food was delicious, and I would highly recommend it to all!”
