“Wow! We came here today after originally planning to only go for a hot drink after our walk. We looked at the menu and then had a little walk around but something was calling us back. We decided to sit outside and grab a menu - the food smelt absolutely unreal so we chose to move inside and order food and drinks. Best chicken club I’ve ever had!! Very friendly service and the place was nice and busy which just proves it’s a very successful food business”

“THIS is the pub to go to if ever you have the chance. And if you've been before, but not since late 2023 - ga again. New, young owners have revitalised the Tavern whilst keeping all the old, well lived traditional features. The food is fantastic, dogs are very welcome. There is even home-made doggy ice-cream, dog snacks and hand-made dog leads for sale. There's a small tuck shop and board games for kids. Lovely walks all around. WINNER OF PUB OF THE YEAR 2025.”

“Had a kids' meal, 4 oz burger and brownie with ice cream as desert, ABSOLUTELY LOVED BOTH. Size-wise was big enough even for me, so shared them with my boyfriend, who btw had fish and chips and was bananas about the sauce. Even mushy peas for the fish and chips had a nice twist to it. The meat on the burger tasted very nice, reminded of kebab, the ice cream in brownie was super tasty just on its own, and it all looked amazing. Totally worth it.”

“A recent restaurant change has been very positive. The breakfast/brunch menu is phenomenal, with an absolutely delicious range of choices especially the veggie breakfast with black pudding! Scrumptious Sunday roasts and a weekly burger night are really good value. Such a friendly place with great service. These local community based places are so important, locals should make the visit it's so worth it.”

“We went here for a family meal and had a fantastic time. The food was excellent and fairly priced, service friendly and efficient and the atmosphere was very pleasant. Vegans and vegetarians are well catered for and the cakes are lovely. We loved all the old railway themed memorabilia and equipment and our dog was welcome in the cafe.”

“The young lady that served us was brilliant so helpful lovely and so helpful. The food was fantastic highly recommended the halal breakfast and my friend loved the omelette. The Earl gray tea came in the most wonderful tea pot and was fantastic. My friend loves the coffees so much has two cups every time. If you have never been you have to try you will not be disappointed I guarantee it. We will be coming once a week from now on may be more. I have to say that the toilets hear are really clean and the double seats one for adults and a second for children shows a real family cafe.”

“Wow what a lovely place! We came here as a group of 18, the staff were very friendly and very accommodating. They gave us the choice of ordering from the a-la-carte menu or using the party menu - we decided to use the party menu as you got poppadoms, starter, main and side for £16 per person, which made things so much easier when it came to the bill. Everyone in our party commented and how good the food was. Excellent quality and very nice flavours. We liked the fact that the kitchen is on show and you can see the chefs preparing your meal. A great evening had by all, we will definitely be back!”

“Visited this place as the reviews on Google looked amazing. We arrived for brunch and we were greeted with a very friendly member of staff. The place was about 10% full, which was great for us! This place has a good selection of breakfast/brunch options, as well as many savoury, desserts, ice cream flavours and hot/cold drink options. I eat vegetarian, vegan and halal food. this place is 100% halal. We got the Berries, Pancake Stack, Turmeric Latte, Brioche French Toast and an Iced Latte. We did have to wait long for our order, however it was well worth it. The berries pancake stack that I had Was deliciously light and airy. I could tell it was made fresh. The menu did not mention the addition of chocolate sauce on the pancakes, however I wasn’t fussed about this. It was actually a nice addition to the dish. The turmeric latte was also tasty, and made me feel nice and warm. As turmeric does not properly mix properly with liquid, there was some turmeric left at the bottom of the mug, however I didn’t mind this. Overall, we had a very positive experience at this place and I highly recommend it to friends, couples and families!”
