“Lydia was was beautifully hospitable for our late lunch today!! Our food came out quickly, and we were very well taken care of. Definitely a very laid back place for good food where you’re well looked after. I had the caprese salad, and my husband had the chorizo pizza. Both highly recommended!”
“A relaxed yet elevated dining experience, the team here are definitely focused on delivering not only a fine dining tasting platter but also engaging the customer in the journey of the food and wine. It was such a relaxed experience even though you are literally in the kitchen and watching how they prepare and deliver your food. The food may seem small but the flavour certainly packs a punch and if you really want yo elevate your experience then get the wine pairing and enjoy the delicate and robust flavours that it brings to the dining.”

“Absolutely love this place and the variety of classes, courses and events you can get involved in! The teachers/instructors are amazing and make the classes so fun and enjoyable. All the girls are super supportive and friendly as well. Definitely recommend this studio!”
“Quality food. Great staff. Very friendly.”
“Great service and very friendly staff with good food and drinks.”
“We visited Rudy’s Pizza on Saturday evening around 9:00 PM, about an hour before closing, and were pleasantly surprised by how smoothly everything went. Despite the place being busy, we were seated immediately without any wait, and the staff had no issue accommodating the three of us. Since it was getting late, we decided to place our full order right away. The food arrived impressively fast. Our server, Laura, was absolutely fantastic—friendly, attentive, and cheerful throughout, even when we asked a few silly questions. She made us feel genuinely welcome. We kept it simple with a Margherita, a veggie pizza, and garlic bread. The garlic bread was out of this world—definitely a highlight. My wife and I shared the pizza, and there was still enough left to take home. To top it all off, when the bill arrived, we noticed they hadn’t charged us for our drinks, and they even gave our little girl a complimentary brownie. We were told the drinks were on the house. It was such a thoughtful gesture. Overall, we had a wonderful experience, and a big shoutout to Laura for making our evening so memorable.”
“Awesome GF pizza, but uses the same woodfired oven for all pizzas so always potential risk. I've been here maybe 20 times and never had a reaction to the pizza though so they must be careful with how they managed it. BYOB or have a Tory Fanta like true people of culture.”
“Great real ale pub fab selection of low alcohol bottles and 4 hand pumps at a sensible price”
“Although I live some three miles away, and have my own local, I always enjoy coming in here for a change! Usually early doors on Mondays. Love it. Thanks all!”
“Very laid back and relaxing alehouse with fabulous decor. Beer and ale very reasonably priced compared to some similar establishments we have visited.”
“Hardly surprising this micro-bar is now a well established entry in the Good Beer Guide. A varied lineup of cask ales on offer, didn’t get round to try any of the numerous craft ales.”
“Absolutely fantastic, can't fault a single thing about this place, food amazing and although we didn't have a cake they looked amazing, this is the club sandwich”
“Went for a birthday dinner, the staff were polite and pleasant throughout and the owner was beyond lovely, treating all his customers and staff with tremendous respect. The food quality is outstanding and the portions are generous with very fair prices for what you receive. 10/10 would eat there again.”
“Had a kids' meal, 4 oz burger and brownie with ice cream as desert, ABSOLUTELY LOVED BOTH. Size-wise was big enough even for me, so shared them with my boyfriend, who btw had fish and chips and was bananas about the sauce. Even mushy peas for the fish and chips had a nice twist to it. The meat on the burger tasted very nice, reminded of kebab, the ice cream in brownie was super tasty just on its own, and it all looked amazing. Totally worth it.”
“Really enjoyed our meal. Great service & reasonable pricing for party of 3.”
“Had the halloumi pesto sandwich and it was amazing! The American is nice too. Enjoyed the atmosphere and the service was great. Will definitely be coming back.”
“Delicious food, warm welcoming. The kids had a great time. We look forward to our next visit.”
“THIS is the pub to go to if ever you have the chance. And if you've been before, but not since late 2023 - ga again. New, young owners have revitalised the Tavern whilst keeping all the old, well lived traditional features. The food is fantastic, dogs are very welcome. There is even home-made doggy ice-cream, dog snacks and hand-made dog leads for sale. There's a small tuck shop and board games for kids. Lovely walks all around. WINNER OF PUB OF THE YEAR 2025.”
“Next to the train station, so location is perfect if you traveling. The Eggs benedict with salmon was absolutely delicious. Eggs melted in my mouth and portion size was just right. The staff was attentive and polite. Cannot ask for more when looking to have great breakfast!”
“The best breakfast sandwiches around! Unlike anywhere else I’ve tried, they use high quality buns and toast them which is so much better than the cheap white rolls found in most places. The quality of the bacon and eggs is also amazing. Great pit stop on our dog walks.”
“Not able to judge the food (they dont sell any) or the atmosphere (as no one else was in) but the bar itself is wonderful. Only small, with an indoor upstairs seating area & a small section out front with tables & chairs (only good for dry days) Theres also a beer garden to the rear apparently (never tried it)? Although limited for bar space the beer selection is good. More often than not there are 3 locally brewed ales on cask & 8 beers on keg, which usually includes a dark one. Altrincham born & bred Iv'e been coming here since it opened in the early 2000s and despite both it sister bars closing (Chorlton & Liverpool) luckily this bar continues to trade. I wish there was a greater choice, but should you be unable to find something unsuitable on cask/keg, they also have a well stocked fridge with numerous craft ales so im confident you'll find something suitable. Not the cheapest of bars, but far from the most expensive. OK, its getting a little tired around the edges now & the downstairs disabled toilets could do with a bit of a face lift, but all that said I still highly recommend this place.”
“Fantastic food and service, very accommodating to my autistic daughter’s needs, and really made her feel like nothing was an issue when she had some difficulties with her menu choices. It’s all in how things are handled and the kind and friendly approach made all the difference. Lovely atmosphere and surroundings, tasty food, would definitely recommend.”
“Great traditional pub nice friendly chilled atmosphere well kept range of cask ales from local breweries”
“Stunning listed building, original plaster ceiling. Good selection of drinks, plenty of seating. Will definitely be returning.”
“Cracking old school bar...great staff...very sporty football bar. Love it. A George best themed pub. Great pint of heineken”
“Came here with my friends and had an amazing time! The food was absolutely incredible. Everything we ordered was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly made. Our server Rubel was awesome and gave us great recommendations that we all loved. The music was lit and really added to the fun, energetic vibe. From start to finish, the experience was enjoyable and delicious. Definitely a spot we’ll be coming back to”
“Nice, old-fashioned very traditional British pub with a cool back room where bands play. Friendly service and a good atmosphere, the back room is small so perfect for an intimate gig. Good selection of beers on at the bars including Robinson's Trooper which is a personal fave!”
“The staff was welcoming and friendly. They happily made me fresh lemon juice even though it wasn’t on the menu ! which was really thoughtful The food was delicious with big portions at a great price. Highly recommend!”
“I have not been to this pub for fourteen years, but on Saturday 26th I went with work colleagues for a curry for my retirement and ended up in The Wheatsheaf. The Staff were brilliant young and vibrant, it was karaoke and everyone felt at ease the locals were very friendly. It was a good atmosphere and all had a great time.”
