“Great park with stunning waterfalls. In a mile circular walk you see a variety of different waterfalls, plus a few other features including a disused weather station, standing stone, and war memorial. Waterfalls are truly well worth seeing. Bit hilly, but decent paths. There's plenty of street parking outside the park, and a kids playground too. Lovely pond to walk round too.”

Definitely a very laid back place for good food where you’re well looked after. I had the caprese salad, and my husband had the chorizo pizza. Both highly recommended!”

“17th March 2025. Had a desperate need to use the facilities at Woodhouse Park Lifestyle Centre at Wythenshawe. Had a very warm welcome, from Michaela, Danielle and Sally. They explained to me about the centre and the services they offer and I was quite impressed. I could see they were working there hoping to make a difference, and I could see it was working. Worth a visit to see what is on offer, you will be very welcome. Keep up the good work girls x”

    Wythenshawe Park and Gardens

    ★★★★☆ 4.5

“Wythenshawe Park and Gardens is one of the best green spaces in South Manchester, offering a mix of open fields, formal gardens, woodland walks, and family-friendly facilities. The park is well kept, with plenty of benches, flat paths for walking or cycling, and a relaxed atmosphere. The community farm and horticultural centre add extra interest, especially for younger visitors. There’s also a good café near the courtyard area, ideal for a quick lunch or coffee. It can get busy during events and weekends, but there's usually space to find a quiet corner. A reliable choice for a free day out with plenty to explore.”

They enjoyed feeding the ducks, the bike track, play ground and the sand pit. More benches on the sunshine would be useful.”

    Tatton Park

“I had a beautiful morning exploring the gardens at Tatton Park. It’s free for RHS members. But be warned that you need to pay £10 to park the car regardless of whether you visit any of the attractions. There’s toilets in the courtyard alongside a garden shop, cafe, gift shop, and bookshop. The gardens were looking great as we venture into autumn. There’s some beautiful dahlias still flowering and creating a wonderful display. Plenty of ripening apples and pears! Must be a fantastic season this year!! Lots of areas to wander in peace. The grounds are serene and as I was there at 10, there was hardly a soul! So plenty of beautiful photo opportunities!!”

A lovely coffee shop in the centre of the park with an ice cream van present near the play areas for most of the warmer months. “One of Tamesides hidden gems. The main entrance has 2 big open spaces for ball games etc. A young children's play area with a gated sand pit and further up the hill an older children's play area with climbing frames. But the best bit is the public orchard at the top of the hill and the wildlife sanctuary plus a plethora of wild walking paths. Popular with dog walkers (please pick up your dogs waste) and families alike. A good stroll around Cheathams will get the heart pumping and is a joy for the eye. 10/10.”
