“I was put off coming here to eat because of some of the reviews but decided to try it tonight as I am on a course and in Manchester for 6 weeks . I had the kebab sandwich with donner kebab and lamb seekh kebab and a side portion of chips . I ordered online and collected myself . The kebab and chips were amazing , 5 star all the way . Really hot and fresh and good quality food . The restaurant is immaculately clean , you could eat off the floor . The man who served me was lovely , polite and helpful. I was £15 for my meal and it was enough for 2 people so very reasonable in price . I will definitely be back . It has also taught me not to rely on reviews from others as my experience was a 5 star one yet other reviews are very different . I would highly recommend , give it a go and make your own mind up . “I’ve lived at Slate Yard for the last 3 years and every minute has been a pleasure. The apartments are perfect- great location, clean and superb communal areas. The team at the front desk are special- always checking in with a friendly hello. At slate yard you really feel at home. I’m moving to London for work but will always have such fond memories at Slate Yard. Thank you everyone”

“I ordered here via Deliveroo last week, had egg fried rice, kimchi pancake and salt and pepper chicken. The food was amazing and I didn’t notice or watch how long it would take to deliver but it felt like it was delivered in good time. The driver from the restaurant brought it right to my door (unlike other Deliveroo drivers who will make you come down) I loved the food so much I added it on my list of places to eat back at and did a google search which is where I saw the poor reviews on here. I’m surprised to see some of them as I had a pleasant experience - I would say to give it a chance.”

“Our go-to Chinese takeaway in Pendlebury. Never had an issue with this place. We've been using it for 7+ years. Sweet and sour chicken, egg fried rice, salt and pepper chips, veggie spring rolls. All standard, and very tasty. Almost always piping hot, occasionally warm but that's to be expected sometimes when you get it delivered. It's never cold. Though. Super cheap. Easy to order via telephone. Drivers always arrive with a smile.”

“We stayed here as we were going to the AO arena. We walked to the arena and got a taxi back. Tha taxi was £6.40. The room was airy and clean. We had a problem with the TV and the gentleman went above and beyond to try and sort it for us. I have no hesitation in recommending it to others. We will certainly be staying next time were in Manchester.”

“The house was absolutely beautifully renovated and everything was just perfect, we had some minor teething issues but none of these affected our stay, the owners also left some absolutely amazing extras which were just perfect. We were a group of 14 and the house was so perfect for our needs with just a 10 Uber to the city center.”

“For anyone looking for somewhere to eat that's a bit quieter than The Dockyard you'll like this and be pleasantly surprised at how it's not much more expensive. Every time I'm here the food looks and tastes great, the staff are friendly and I always feel welcome as its relaxed atmosphere is streets away from the boistrousness of nearby venues. Watch out for match day offers, happy hour and other decent offers.”

“Brilliant service. Ordered over the phone to collect and was hardly even a 5 minute wait and even then I was apologised to. I was then asked how I would like my pizza and was even asked if it was cooked to my liking when finished. The food was gorgeous and no complaints. Really polite too.”

“Came here yesterday with a friend and ordered 2 hot drinks and breakfasts. The drinks and food came quickly. Food was hot and fresh. Big shout out to Lesley and Lewis were great front of house they were friendly and nothing was too much trouble we asked for a little extra milk for the tea and this was done without any problem. There was a lovely atmosphere great to see a happy environment and great teamwork”

“I think the rating of this restaurant on Google is absurd, and reaffirms that people only ever leave bad reviews. Our experience with this Chinese is pretty consistently 9/10. Portion sizes - Brilliant. Food Freshness/Taste - Brilliant. Service - Brilliant. Overall value - Great. The Salt & Pepper chefs box, chow mein, chicken satay, special curry and chicken wing menu items never let us down . We have tried other Chinese restaurants in the area and always find ourselves quickly regretting not ordering from here at No. 1.”

“Lovely staff - huge compliments to the wonderful GiGi in their head offices, she really went out of her way to discuss things and ensure everything was as we needed it to be. Alberto, one of the supervisors is also fabulous, incredibly welcoming and helped us to feel at home here and also compliments to Moe in the on site office who assisted with parking and is always happy to help everyone! We're at the Trafford location; the apartments are modern and chic, incredibly clean and really spacious - brilliant! Gabriella”
