“Was quiet on arrival due to hot weather and others choosing to sit outside or go to another pub with a garden . Staff were immediately attentive and were more than happy to help with choice of wine and offering a taste to make sure it’s what we’d like . we were very impressed with the wine, and the price.and the staff. We had Sunday lunch, roast beef for me, turkey for my best friend Jon, we both loved the fact that it was served hot not Luke warm like some places and what everyone expects from a Sunday roast We decided it was the best we’d had in a long time. Service from all the staff was fantastic. We also noticed that the empathy and familiarity with customers who must be regulars was a joy to see and rare in these days. Big shout out to Stanley who was the star of the day with his waiting skills. Thank you”

“We held our daughter's birthday bowling party at Thunderbowl yesterday. The VIP area was spacious, clean and tidy. The staff were brilliant, especially Ciaran and Nicole - very helpful and attentive. The food was ready at exactly the right time and piping hot. We would definitely recommend it as a venue for birthday parties and general fun (bowling, pool, adventure golf and a small arcade)!”

Everything we need is within walking distance, and the location is perfect for daily life. What really makes a difference is the amazing team at the reception. They've been incredibly supportive and welcoming since day one – especially Jasmine, Christina and Natalie, who always go the extra mile to help. We truly feel at home here and would definitely recommend The Almere to anyone looking for a comfortable and well-managed place to live.”

“Had breakfast at Bill’s and it was fantastic! I had the shakshuka, honestly the best I’ve ever had. Really warming, perfectly spiced, and so full of flavour. The flatbread on the side was amazing too. My husband ordered a side of hash browns, and the portion was huge! Lovely people serving us as well, such a friendly atmosphere and a great start to our day. Highly recommend!”

“After a wet windy afternoon at lamport hall craft fair, the roaring fire was most welcome at the inn! Evie who was the most attentive waitress showed us to a fantastic table ! 2 of us had trio of beef,”lamb, pork roast dinner ! Which was delicious! Best yorky puds I’ve ever had, cheese cake for pudding , all scrumptious !”

“Such a great stay for the night, the staff are so welcoming and lovely! The room we stayed in was lovely too, nice and warm with a cute tea and coffee station. Included all the necessities however no body wash or shampoos (not a big deal if you bring your own). The pub is attached to the building and the atmosphere is great. Overall lovely place for a lovely price!”

“I had recently booked the pub for my partners birthday.. the landlady April was very accommodating and was very helpful, April even offered to set up tables and decorated the place for me she and her staff did an amazing job The staff were all very lovely and helpful and the service was very good. There where children who came to the party, and again April and staff where lovley with them, and very understanding when the children where acting up a little. Everyone who came to the pub commented on how lovley the pub was and the staff. I want to say thank you for having us, and we will see you all again soon.”

“Stayed here as attending a wedding reception very close by. Excellent location with super parking. Lovely room and a comfortable bed. Breakfast fine but not a massive choice. Overall a very good choice of lodgings.”

“What a great find - rooms are clean, spacious and the beds are very comfy. Located right near the A1 but very quiet so sleep isn't a problem. Free parking right out the front is a bonus. Breakfast is provided in the adjacent atmospheric 1600's pub - delicious! Staff provided a warm welcome and gave some great recommendations on things to do around the area and beyond. Couldn't have asked for better for our first night in the UK! Thank you!”

“We had a wonderful lunch at the Spinney Hill. Our table had been pre-booked for 8 guests and on arrival we were welcomed at the bar then shown to our reserved tables. Everywhere was clean. The menu chosen was the senior menu which offered a great choice and excellent value for money. Food service was speedy, attentative and all of the guests enjoyed their meal. “Mo's kebabs are amazing! We went for the mixed kebab, chicken shish, lamb shish, chicken doner, lamb doner, kofta, salad, 2 pitta and sauce, absolutely delicious. All came served separately so no soggy bread or hot salad. It had a charcoal Mediterranean flavour reminiscent of happy holidays. Next time we'll order 2 extra pittas and 2 extra sauce as it definitely feeds a family of four. Well done Mo!”

“Stayed here one night while on business in the area. Room was fantastic bed was very comfy and the shower was brilliant. Check was excellent the lady there was very helpful. Car park is very small and if you’re not careful you will get blocked in, just bear it in mind. Can imagine it gets rowdy at the weekend as it bang in the centre, but mid week was fine and I slept well.”
