The service is amazing and Mimi personally welcomed and attended to us throughout and provided excellent food recommendations on what to try. Whilst the food is slightly expensive it is definitely worth it and we wouldn’t hesitate to go again and will be returning.”

“We were dropping our son to the University of Nottingham end of September and stumbled upon Compà in Beeston on our first night of arrival. It was our son’s suggestion and we decided to check it out! I am so glad we did! The food was delicious and it was like visiting a family - cosy, warm ambiance and pretty lights inside that made it feel festive and special on a week night. We were pretty tired after flying from US to London, than taking a train to Nottingham the next morning so it was especially nice to sit down and take time to enjoy this place, yummy food while we planned next few days. We stroke a conversation with the owner who turned out to be such a wonderful kind person and it made us feel even more comfortable and welcome. It was a lovely experience and a warm welcome. “One of the best breakfast that I had in UK, seriously, they are amazing. From outside the restaurant/shop doesn't look much, but once you pass their door, you will be surprised by a counter full of amazing products, some of them local. The restaurant go all the way to the back and they also have a beautiful garden. The food is all good quality, nicely prepared and delicious. I recommend trying any of the local products that they sell. They are delicious. I do recommend them!”

“On the 1st of November I had the most incredible 40th birthday party at La Rock. Daiva, Nick and all of the staff absolutely blew myself, my husband and all of the guests away with their exceptional standard of service. Now as regular customers we are used to their high standards but with 55 guests, nearly all of which were drinking they made sure everyone was attended to leaving everyone as impressed as we always are. There was never a queue at the bar, the food was incredible and the way they constantly checked in with me to make sure I was enjoying myself and everything was ok just added to the whole experience. I have the most ridiculously long list of foods I have to avoid and this never seems to be a problem. No matter how complex this gets they take it in their stride and serve me with dishes that look as good as every other guests. Their relaxed and calm manner helped when at times the night became quite overwhelming. I really can not recommend them more highly ❤️”

“"Wait, is THAT the building?" Yes, it is. Crazy, quirky location at the end of an old toll bridge with a giant selection of sandwiches made to order, plus crisps, snacks, water, tea, etc.. We stopped by on consecutive days while our daughter was competing at a local sports ground, and everything we got both days was first-rate (the roast pork is sublime.) Nice staff, too. Lots of cyclists in evidence so clearly a popular rest stop.”

“Came here on Sunday for my friends birthday celebration. Absolutely amazing, Food was delicious and so much of it, didn't feel rushed at all. They close at 2 but as we'd not eaten everything they let us stay until we were ready to leave. Friendly and helpful from start to finish, will definitely be back for another afternoon tea. “Regularly in area. Not usually able to park . As its hive of activity. Grabbed a spot today and grabbed some top quality fodder. The sausage roll was a nice starter, but the gammon and cheese toastie smashed the taste buds through the roof of the van and straight back up the motorway smacking my lips. Proper brew with the bag in too. And all with the smashing service and wonderful smile of the lady who served me. Will definitely be back again.”

They followed requested added and when I rang into issue with the delivery drivers and wait times on Uber eats (nothing to do with the cafe). I called up and the staff were helpful and polite. Will definitely order again!”

“Had lunch here today and I was pleasantly surprised at how good this place was. The guy behind the counter was very helpful in explaining the menu to us. The food is generous and actually quite tasty. We sat on the picnic benches outside as there is not much seating in the place itself but someone very helpfully brought our food out when it was ready. The flatbread was fresh with a great filling ratio and a very reasonable cost! Would happily recommend to my friends and order again.”

“Here's the short version: great food and great service. Our waiter was really helpful. Given the tapas nature of the restaurant we were unsure about how much to order without overdoing it, and with his help we got it just right. We branched out a bit and tried things we hadn't had before, and it was all fantastic. The tacos and the paneer tapas dishes were a highlight. I also loved the Thali, I had a few favourites (the lamb dish and the lentils one), but everything was great. We also treated ourselves to a cocktail which was delicious, and very reasonably priced as part of their pre-7pm "2 for £12" deal. Honestly I'm ashamed it took us so long to try this place. We certainly won't leave it that long til next time, we're coming back soon!”
