“Had a pint at The Heroes in Waterlooville – it was epic! The staff are like beer ninjas with a great sense of humour. The local brew was so good, I almost felt like a superhero. The regulars? Hilarious and welcoming. If you need a heroic pint, this is the place!”
“This was our second visit to this pub and we all enjoyed the experience very much. The food was first class with a good variety of pub classics. The pies are exceptional but then so is everything else. As a walking group we arrived wet and cold and the welcome was lovely. The staff worked hard to ensure we had a good experience. For me HSB and London Pride work really well and set me up for a first class lunch. Well worth a visit and fairly priced for good sized portions.”
“Nice local pub, great drinks on offer with friendly staff, didn’t eat going to do that next time. Massive beer garden out the back..”
“Myself and my brother went here yesterday for a coffee and cake. So glad we did, lovely coffee and even better cake all at a fair price. I will be going here again soon.”
“Was skeptical before entering, BUT what a super place! The braised beef short ribs were sublime and the katsu curry vegan croquettes very tasty. The staff were so helpful and pleasant and even the Elvis entertainer was good( against all expectations- so well done to him too!!) we will definitely be going back, stayed a lot longer than we had planned and would recommend giving it a try!”
“Had a delicious Christmas meal with a large group of friends. The portions were very generous, served hot and good quality. Service was prompt but not rushed. We were very well looked after in a warm & cosy atmosphere. Highly recommend & will definitely be eating here again!”
“This is a great club and does the very best it can do for its members unfortunately some very nice people are being used like puppets to spread vicious rumours and outright lies about the committee some of which is outright libelous. You know who you are if you like you are welcome to speak to me and i will be happy to explain everything to you Dave coombs v/pres Cowplain social club”
“Took the family here for Sunday lunch. Very very nice. Fantastic roast dinner. We had the lamb and the chicken, both were really nice. Lovely staff made it for us. Great atmosphere and the live music was a bonus . Recommended.”
“My husband and I have visited the Centurion (Waterlooville) on several occasions and have always enjoyed the friendly atmosphere. The food is delicious and very good value for money. Definitely recommend.”
“Very welcoming, the staff make you feel like you're home from home. It's Very cosy in the snug and you never hear any foul language or swearing.”
“First time since the refurb; we had an excellent two course lunch from the Prix Fix menu (£18.50), great and friendly service, and a nice atmosphere, with veggie choices. And v dog friendly. And they coped well despite having a large funeral wake party in at the same time. We had a poor experience here a year or so back, so very happy to report a massive improvement. The Hog is now back on our list and we will be back. Well done.”
“Our first time dining there. Our meals were very nice and good value for money. We will be going in for lunch weekly, and will recommend to family and friends too. Friendly and cheerful Landlady and staff. Thankyou ........Andy and Dee Peters”
“Visited last week with our dog and mother in law. Absolutely lovely pub. Gorgeous building and interior, crackling fireplace, delicious and very special food. Fletcher the bar man was so kind, accomodating and pleasant to us. Will definitely cone again. I've been raving about it ever since. Thank you.”
“With friendly staff, excellent food, and a good selection of drinks, The Rising Sun is a great pub. We stayed here whilst walking the nearby South Downs Way and were made to feel very welcome indeed. Dinner was delicious and beyond our expectations. The straightforward accommodation, meanwhile, offered good value, and the breakfast was the best across our multi-day trip. Highly recommended.”
“We came for a Birthday meal for Chris who is sadly no longer with us. The staff went above & beyond to make the day very special for us. The food was excellent and they made everybody very welcome. They even supplied us with a knife and paper plates for the birthday cake. Would definitely recommend and will absolutely be coming back every year.”
“The food was hot, plentiful and tasty. The service was good both from our server Ewan and the bar staff. Pub was not too busy so the atmosphere was not strong, but it was great to chat and enjoy our food and drink. Well done to your team.”
“Lovely pint of HSB here and only £3.00, with Heiniken Rugby highlights on too. Super.”
“This place has had a big refurb and its the first time we have been here since this happened. Its great.”
“Absolutely superb. Go there every Friday evening with my dad for a few pints. (We're 55 and 82). Lots of lively groups, between 18 and 100 years old. Good food, great beers. A true community asset. Thank you Wetherspoons!”
“Great atmosphere. Friendly staff and your in good company with the locals. Nice place to have a quick drink. Cash only though., everyone should carry some cash so should be a problem. Enjoy your drink. Cheers”
“Took my family for son's birthday here and everything was amazing. Staff are friendly and very accommodating, especially Tom. He was so lovely and polite and went above and beyond. Food was to die for! Hats off to the chef too. Superb experience. Will definitely be visiting again soon! Thanks all”
