“Cosy little family run cafe. Prices are on the lower side for 2025. Just had breakfast and a coffee. Will definitely come back if I am around Twyford”

“I had an amazing experience at The Botanist Reading as part of a team-building event! The food was outstanding - I started with the Hanging Kebabs with Halloumi Cheese, which was grilled to perfection, and the Hummus was creamy and delicious. For dessert, the Cookie Dough was rich and indulgent. The atmosphere was lively and relaxed, with great service. Highly recommend The Botanist Reading for a fun and memorable team-building event or dinner with friends!”

“Great meal. My girlfriend and I had a really lovely time in the morning having a full English breakfast. Nice big menu and you can customise pretty much anything you want even though the sign says you can't but the staff said you can which is a bonus.”

“Needed a place to rest after coin day. Very nice chairs. This is the centre of the royal berks. When you walk around here you see all the nurses and doctors and it makes you so humble. They do such an incredible job and our whole nation owes them our gratitude. They are so hard working. They are so kind and caring. More to follow on the coffee as it’s too hot to drink. Very tranquil place. Nice staff. Good selection of food items. I can only imagine that people who come here must be going through a lot. I bet this cafe has seen a lot. P.s the staff work very hard mopping floors and looking after everybody in the cafe. Good charging point for phone. Good coffee. Good water. P.p.s it’s getting very quiet now in the cafe. The shop with the lovely lady has closed. There are less people coming and going now. Cafe staff kindly made me a coffee before closing. Still looking for somewhere or some way to leave my magic coins. Hopefully Judy can help but I think she might be busy in an and e or enjoying time off. P.p.p.s the cafe girl is working very hard sorting out the bins. There seems to be a lot to do.”

“Great atmosphere; the staff are welcoming with friendly and smiley faces. The pasta service was fast and helpful. Tried the Spicy Pollo Pasta and was tasty; it was ‘al dente’ consistency and pasta sizes was decent. Tips are: -you can self order or also order via the counter with helpful staff if it your first time. -they have nice coffee, though also can help yourself to free tap water with glass by the cutlery area. -wide selection of hot and cold food/drinks. -no need to book as the service is fast. Overall I would recommend a try and visit; positive vibes, lively music (was there during a special promotion), modern and fun.”

“My son took me for breakfast here last Sunday an we were both pleased with how nice the breakfast was all cooked just right nothing under or over cooked and it was very clean and very well presented.Willl definitely be going back and will be trying something off of their menu for lunch.”

“A really large, enjoyable pub right next to Reading Station. Seating inside and out. A wide range of drinks and meals are available. Service is average, and can be slow when it's busy. Toilets are large and well kept. The decor is excellent with plenty of nods to the station and trains. Well worth a visit, particularly if you are leaving the station and have time. The only downside is that it's quite pricey.”

“This is my first time at TGI Fridays and I have to say it was a very pleasant experience, the food was priced perfectly and the portions were a good size as well. The staff here were very kind and helpful with everything, they also were very speedy with getting our food out. Food quality was very tasty and looked very appealing. “I have many happy memories of the cattle market cafe from the days of horse sales, carriage sales and the fabulous household /antique sales which we attended regularly. The cafe was an endless supply of egg and bacon rolls, luscious and dripping, chips with tomato sauce and real belt busting breakfasts . Dinners were amazing , like great school dinners on steroids! Sadly I haven’t been in a while but am just glad to see that it is hanging on in there in these troubled times and surviving in the face of indescriminate ‘redevelopment’ of Readings past. “We had such a great evening at TGIs! The food was absolutely delicious, but what really made the evening was the amazing service. Jasmine looked after us and she was brilliant - she took our rather annoying, picky order with a massive smile, and the food arrived perfectly. She cottoned on that it was our daughter’s birthday, and made a lovely fuss of her. I haven’t been to TGIs for a long time, but we’ll be back soon for sure!”

“Very pleasantly surprised. We had cod & chips and scampi & chips. Better than our local chippy tbh. Wasnt expecting this from a supermarket cafe. Seating was pleasant and spacious. And what made it all the more awesome was the chirpy waitress, nice to see a smiling face and winning attitude. Wanted to mention her name here, but thought it might seem creepy to go back and ask!”
