βGreat place, always plenty things to do with kids. Nice cafe and facilities.β
βWe loved our first visit to Dragon Sensory and will definitely be back! The play area so clean with high quality toys. The music and lighting made it a hugely relaxing experience for me beyond just my babyβs needs which I wasnβt expecting! I loved that I was offered a cup of tea on arrival - just lovely to be taken care of. Thank you - what a fantastic business for the local community.β
βWe had a birthday party for our son last weekend at High Score in Newbury and was hosted by Coral, she was amazing! She made sure we had all the help we needed, took the youngest children to the games that they could play and entertain them. Would highly recommend!β
βSuch a cute place .. I was more excited than my one year old daughter.. I managed two trips on different trains. Loved the experience. I will visit the place again whenever possible.β
βThis venue has many purposes I understand. Itβs a fabulous site and for me, I attend a weekly painting class. The room we use is airy and overlooks a lawn and the river β¦..β
βHeld a baby shower in cafe. Great space, helpful with queries over phone. Smashing placeβ
βLast Saturday I had a Inter County chess tournament in this wonderful hall. Venue is superb with excellent parking space, easily rechable via maps. Hall has good space and eminities.β
βA magical little spot for story lovers, the little ones, and the inner child in us all. This museum brings stories to life through beautifully themed rooms celebrating the magic of childhood classics. Full of charm, creativity and interactive displays. Genuinely kind staff, too.β
βOne of the best value days out in the county. There's so much to play on, indoors and out. It's perfect for 1-8 year olds especially.β
βThis is a lovey little theatre in a very good location for parking and the town centre. We took our grandchildren to the panto.. All the Staffa are so friendly and helpful, free cloakroom, easy access to snacks and treats within. The seating is well tiered to ensure good views of the stage. Lots of different shows on all year. Quite a gem.β
βWe watched comedian Paul Foot here. Small theatre with good tiered seating. Bar available for pre show and interval drinks. What I liked most was ( at time of writing) free parking after 6pm on the same street as the venue. Arrive early and you can easily walk into town for a meal.β
βFabulous little theatre group. Great at doing Terry Pratchett's plays. Players fabulously characterful, reflecting closely the characters in the books. Sets were very innovative! Loved them!β
βBradfield College Sports Complex is an outstanding facility that offers top-tier amenities for sports enthusiasts. The indoor football hall is exceptional, providing a professional-grade playing surface with excellent lighting and a well-maintained environment, making it perfect for both casual and competitive games. The swimming facilities are equally impressive, featuring a pristine pool with modern amenities that cater to swimmers of all levels. The overall atmosphere is welcoming, and the staff are friendly and professional, ensuring a fantastic experience for visitors. Whether for training or leisure, Bradfield Sports Complex is a fantastic destination for sports lovers!β
βFirst started bringing my eldest here and then my second. I love how calm it is compared to big soft plays with older ones running around, perfect for smaller ones. Super clean and great if you have anyone with allergies. Sally and the team are really friendly and nothing is too much for them. We especially love the themed party days.β
βGot recommended this shop by a friend and since I normally prefer to shop online I was ambivalent. What a surprise it was when I went there, the shop has them best of the best baby product and really good customer service and the prices are really on par with the cheapest you can get. Plus they offer massive loyalty points discounts. We've been twice and will be back many more times for sure!β
βInteresting visit and a good walk of 3 miles around the whole site can be doneβ
βBasildon Park is such a charming mix of history and glamour! Built in the 18th century for Sir Francis Sykes and later owned by James Morrison, the house even fell into disuse during WWII before being rescued in the 1950s by Lord and Lady Iliffe. I loved exploring the rooms and viewing framed personal family photos and other mementos. It was also fun discovering the homeβs on-screen fameβright now thereβs a 20th anniversary exhibition celebrating all the films and TV shows shot here, from Pride and Prejudice to Downton Abbey, and The Crown. The National Trust has done a great job keeping both the house and its lovely grounds inviting, so itβs easy to imagine life here across the centuries.β
βWe used the Gardener's World 2-for-1 card to visit the gardens. This should have made the price Β£6.50 for two people but they add an online Β£2.75 booking fee pushing the cost up to Β£9.25. The house exterior, grounds which include a prehistoric stone circle and gardens are delightful and the staff in the visitor centre are very friendly and helpful. We had a lovely afternoon with the gardens in full bloom covered in butterflies. Will definitely visit again to walk further around the grounds.β
βA fantastic house and walled garden to visit. Good parking with really nice volunteer staff to explain basic information on walking to the house and walled garden there is a longer walk along the riverside that includes the bird hide. Some wonderful rooms decorated in the style of the day with wonderful artwork and ceramics. I was particularly interested to see some very early maps of the UK with mileage indicated between important towns and cities. Youβll need a minimum of 3 hours to explore this beautiful house and grounds.β
βLovely venue with lots going on, fab cafe, very popular. Beautiful gardens and trails for all the family which are free. Great playground for children.β
βLoved the place:D Good instructor, and he was extremely good at explaining and really friendly. He encouraged us to try new things and showed us everything available (including our options). Overall, cool place! Thanks!β

βA community centre that really does work hard for the community. Post covid this place helped us connect with other isolated parents and we are always welcomed with positivity and a smile. We have often come to collect expired food from the supermarkets and gone away with delicious items.β
βHad a great time at a Heritage Live gig at Englefield Estate. Gorgeous setting, good vibes, and it actually felt like a proper festival - with enough bars and loos (rare). Busy but not rammed, which made it all the more enjoyable. Only complaint was the chaos getting out at the end, but that aside, really fun night out.β
βIt did the job. No unnecessary complications.β
βWhen researching local nurseries I came across Pear Tree and loved how homely it looked. After viewing it in person and meeting the manager Maria and the deputy manager Joe, we decided it would be a good fit for our daughter. Iβm so glad we did because Maria and her team are wonderful! They really take the time to get to know the children and come up with fun and creative activities for them to do. Our daughterβs confidence, language and social skills have come a long way since she started there which is a testament to the staff at Pear Tree Nursery - Thank you!!β
