“I absolutely adore this place ! I’ve just started fishing again after 40 years and it’s ace ! Facilities have been upgraded the site looks smart . I live an hour away but when I have any time off this is my go to place for fishing , don’t need all the gear , just a rod or pole bit of bait and you catch all day long and the scenery is lovely . Well worth a visit ! Thanks”

“Stayed here on Sunday the 3rd of August and was pleasantly surprised, a very clean establishment. Newly owned by a lovely bunch of Indians who were overly welcoming as soon as we arrived. The service is impeccable and the prices are unbeatable. The beds are comfortable and the bathrooms are top quality which for us is key. I mentioned to a member of staff about how great it smelt in the restaurant area baring in mind this is at 9pm on a Sunday night and he goes on to tell me it's the kashmir style chicken I can smell and offered to make me 1, at first I refused because of the time but he then insisted it was fine so although I'd already snacked earlier I decided to try 1. Well again pleasantly surprised. Fresh and delicious packed with flavour. As far as value goes this is the place to stay! Don't believe me ? Come see for yourself. Please don't come expecting a full menu as of yet as they are newly established so it's very very limited but if you trust a recommendation you'll love it. You won't get a pie or fish and chips here so if that's what your after your surrounded by other establishments that will happily accommodate your needs whilst spending only 48 quid on a room here!!!!”

“Retford music lessons has been incredibly beneficial to my music progression. Pete has vast experience in the music industry and this is evident by how unbelievable his ear is. His teaching methods in guitar are clear and concise and is quick to adapt to suit the way I absorb information. He has navigated areas where I have previously struggled with ease and care. His professional and friendly style ensures it is always fun and I leave every session having gained knowledge. I would highly recommend Pete for a guitarist of any level looking to move on to the next stage. I look forward to continuing my musical journey with Pete and Retford Music Lessons. Great work.”

“Truly excellent stay, great value for money the hotel is perfectly situated at the end of the high street so plenty of shops and places to eat nearby. The property is well maintained and beautifully clean. Retford is a cracking little town. Room came with a fan, only real downside is that the room was warm due to no air conditioning however we visited peak of summer.”

“Perfect for a stop or a cheap room. Decent size, clean. A little dated but you don't expect much from a Travelodge. Only.tjing was I couldn't plug my phone next to the bed which was a little irritating but nothing I couldn't get over. Staff are friendly and easy to talk to.”

“I was extremely satisfied and very impressed with the service I have received from Fairfax & Porter. I was looking for a new toilet and taps for our cloakroom. I particularly wanted Thomas Crapper toilet, and I found Fairfax & Porter to be one of their retailers. Jayne made the whole process extremely easy: she took care of my entire order, and sourced the taps I was struggling to find for the basin. I found her extremely professional, totally reliable and easy to communicate with. She has also arranged a plumber to complete the job and he was absolutely brilliant. It all run smoothly and I could not be more grateful to Jayne for arranging everything for me and making my life easy. I would highly recommend their services. I have dealt with many companies during the renovation of our old property, and Fairfax & Porter is one I would definitely go back to without a shadow of a doubt. Excellent customer service.”

“Fantastic service. I booked in for mot, service and brakes as they were grinding. I only needed mot and service as brakes were ok. I’d not used the car for a while and it was just surface rust. They could’ve charged me for them and I would have paid but were honest and said I didn’t need the work yet. Definitely will be our go to garage now.”

“What a place, we came here a few years ago and had a great time then….and the site has been improved further since to make it even more comfortable and luxurious. The new tents are large and homely, the kitchen areas attached to each area are well kitted out and the amenities and indoor areas around the site in case of bad weather have grown. Will be keen to come back again :)”

“Used The Hive to store my possessions in between house moves. Site is very clean and secure with container easily accessible at all times of day. I hired the van to move in and out of the Hive which was easy to arrange and made the whole process less stressful. I would highly recommend the Hive and would use again if needed.”

“Brilliant service. Arrived at exactly the agreed time. 3 very polite and hardworking men moved everything and didn't want us to lift a finger. Handled all our belongings with care. Waited patiently whilst the solicitors did their thing. Unpacked everything with care and made sure everything was placed exactly where we wanted it. We have used Ballards twice now and wouldn't hesitate in using them again and recommending them to anyone who needs a removal firm.”

“A beautiful quiet campsite for tents only. Undefined grass paddock with trees and bushes, as well as large open grass areas. Pitch wherever you like, and make use of one of the four or five designated fire pits. Washing up facilities are basic, but adequate. The showers were lovely and hot, and toilet block although basic was kept clean and there was always toilet roll available. The owners / hosts were very accommodating and helpful, and were always available to assist when we had questions. Highly recommend this site for families, young children and anyone wanting a quiet getaway.”

“Visited several times for meals always cooked to perfection. Sunday lunch did not disappoint the pork just melted in my mouth. All the vegetables are fresh and served piping hot. Would definitely recommend. Staff are welcoming, friendly and nothing too much trouble”

“4* for convenience, cleanliness, service and for location. We've used The Lawns before and used a family room on 1st floor. Simple but elegant furnishings, so well organised with 2 kitchens to either use for a simple meal or something more. We took our ingredients for a chicken curry and our son and grandson (local) joined us. We will always use The Lawns for value and ease of use. Thank you.”

“Beautiful place which is really well maintained. Lots of little hideaway to look at nature. Lots of bench’s to sit and take in the views and a little picnic area to eat away from from the lake. To say we went on Good Friday it was really quite, I would highly recommend anyone to go.”

“I use DN cars twice a day 5 days a week.Always on time and very friendly and professional. I don't get the 1 bad review as DN cars does not have firm stickers on side of their cars. I personally wouldn't choose anyone else. Also a very safe driver.”

Fabulous little find with a restaurant at the side for anyone wanting to eat in The fish is out of this world and we have tried others but we are always comparing it to JM's.
