“Since the new management has come in, the menu has expanded a fair bit but the food is delicious. I really enjoy the breakfast wrap and the option to add or take away items is great. Its very fairly priced and they also make delicious hot drinks. The staff are very approachable and attentive.”

“Brilliant pub, music and hospitality”

“No parking onsite but there is a car park in the pub next door and a large car park 30 seconds down the road, waited around 5 mins for someone to get our reservation and seat us( this was a Saturday night and busy), after we were seated the service was excellent, lots of drinks to chose from especially whiskey and whiskey flights. The food was too good for words perfectly smoked and seasoned tasted amazing I would highly recommend. Portion sizes were decent too.”

“We chose to go to the Woolpack to celebrate our wedding with our friends and family. Debbie, Martin and the team went above and beyond, nothing was too much trouble. It was no easy task to cater for such a large group of people, and on a Saturday night. Every effort was made to get everyone’s food out in a timely manner. I thoroughly enjoyed my food and so did everyone else! The pub itself is lovely, really inviting and just a lovely vibe. The canal side location makes it a beautiful place to sit and watch the narrow boats and ducks etc. All of the staff were extremely friendly and always happy to help with all of our dietary requests. The food was incredible! Extremely reasonably priced and the quality was incredible too. “At last! A proper pub with proper beer, where you can have a proper conversation without intrusive TV screens and not given over to diners rather than drinkers. The Shrewsbury Arms has been completely and tastefully redecorated, with William Morris pattern wallpapers throughout. We (two couples) went on a Wednesday evening where a generous selection of cheese, pate and salami + biscuits was available - all free! There were plenty of customers there, although like many 'wet' pubs I can imagine it could be pretty quiet at times. We thoroughly enjoyed it and will be back. PS: Did I mention that the beer was excellent? I can recommend Pig On The Wall... Edit: Typo”

Jodie was our server, and was extremely helpful even though we had a table of 9 and the place was already pretty busy. They also have 0° beer on draft which I haven’t had before which was great - would 100% recommend.”
