“What a wonderful stay we had at The Tawny.We were celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary and wanted somewhere special,where we could relax in nature. The meet and greet was great with Darren taking us to the Glade shepherd hut.A charming guy and extremely friendly. The service throughout was attentive but unpretentious We were particularly impressed with front of house during our 2 evening meals in the Plumbicorn restaurant. “The Lodge has triumphed again this weekend with a great music afternoon and footy in the evening (shame about the result). Carl and Sarah never disappoint, great owners and hosts with their fingers on the pulse when it comes to quality and variety of beer, a constantly changing choice whilst retaining the firm favourites that customers favour. Such a lot of transformational work has been carried out here both internally and externally, a great place to meet friends and chat with regulars. Last afternoon/evening ran like clockwork so well done to all your hardworking staff who support you. "Where everybody knows your name And they're always glad you came" from the theme tune to Cheers for those old enough to remember it! So "Cheers! to Carl, Sarah and all the staff.”

Parveen is such a amazing lady this is the only place me and my husband have curry even if we don't come to Thornbury Hall to eat in we will pick up and this is also a good place to buy Christmas or birthday vouchers from for people who love a special curry or just food in general wouldn't go any we're else I would definitely recommend Thornbury Hall good choice of food something for everyone”

“One of the better curry houses in town! - I have tried curries from most places around Stoke now and this is for sure one of the best. The food is really nice, though a little more expensive than the average takeaway. We had chicken balti, with garlic fried rice, onion bhaji, a side salad and a garlic naan and were really impressed. I’m certainly going to be ordering from here quite often.”

“We went for a flu jab last weekend and it was so well organised! A lot of people were due to have the jabs. We turned up a bit early, joined a longish queue which went down very quickly, there were plenty of friendly helpers, the jabs were done quickly and efficiently and we were out. It all took about 10 minutes.”

“Caroline at Wards Property Management was extremely professional, knowledgeable and efficient. Nothing was too much trouble. She even offered to support the viewings for us on her day off. She negotiated everything for us and out property was sold in a very short space of time. We would recommend her and Wards Property Management unreservedly. Thnaks again Sian and Andrew Holt”

“Arrived just after opening and already there were constant cars filling the 6 parking spaces never empty and even though it was busy they granted us permission to eat in the car park. The fish was huge generous portion of chips smothered in mushy peas. Cooked to perfection . I was so mad with my myself that I couldn't finish it off as it was a really good plate food. Staff were friendly and fast and their customers included the local constabulary. So it must be good.”

Recent structural changes inside have been done to a very high standard and you won't be disappointed with a visit, even though the popular disco nights cannot yet return.”

“Great pub, friendly fun staff. This pub has brilliant atmosphere and weekly live music. The food that is prepared there is spot on, they dont have a resturant the land lady will often do hot meat baps or pasties.”

“An excellent venue, with well-tgought-out decor, a lovely ambience, great service and very good food. Well worth a visit. It's in the Manor House Hotel where they also have a spa and a swimming pool (apparently with a swim-up bar!) so you could tie the experience in with a getaway break. We didn't, we just ate, but it was a really nice place to go and reasonably priced, too.”

“I'm giving this five because it's such a lovely atmosphere and the karaoke nights are fantastic. Although I haven't been able to visit so much lately you are guaranteed a good time. If anything little small but that can't be helped. It seems smaller area because it's so popular on karaoke. It has two sides to the bar. I'm not aware of food served here though”

“Toffs is a wonderful cafe right in the middle of Hanley. It's got a gorgeous terrace facing south meaning you've got sun all day. I had a latte and a baklava, probably the best I had in my life. And the family who runs the business, they are the friendliest you can get - you won't get a better welcome and service anywhere near. Will certainly return.”

“Run by local residents, which is always a bonus, not sure but I think they are actually volunteers. The breakfast was lovely and your drink comes with it. Excellent value for money and lovely friendly people who work there. We'll worth a visit.”
