βShinka Jujitsu Academy is the perfect place to learn how to defend yourself, grow in confidence, and to improve your physical and mental fitness. Fed up of being intimidated by uncomfortable encounters around the city, I wanted to learn some self-defence and so decided to try Shinka Jujitsu Academy. From the first session, I was immediately made to feel welcome. Instead of walking into the macho, intimidating environment I was worried about (especially as a woman with spaghetti arms!), I was surprised to find a supportive community made up of students of all ages and genders. Dave, or Sensei Dave, uses his decades of jujitsu experience to help students learn and achieve their personal goals- whether it be to compete, gain belts, master self-defence or simply improve their fitness and confidence. Shinka's instructor offers a great blend of discipline, practical training, and patience all packaged with a hint of terrible dad jokes! Thanks to Shinka Jujitsu Academy for helping me gain confidence, as well as improve my asthma and overall fitness! If you want to learn to stand tall, to have the self-confidence to know you can protect yourself, and to have fun whilst doing so, Shinka Jujitsu Academy is the place for you.β
βHaving a 13yr old childcare can be tricky over the long summer holidays. My son has a keen interest in musical theatre. So we signed him up for the Five Towns Theatre summer school. 2 weeks, 9-5pm for Β£130 is outstanding value not only that George had the absolute best time and made some wonderful friends. The end of summer school performance of Shrek Jr was OUTSTANDING! How they pulled that off in just 10 days shows the true commitment from the company and the enjoyment that the children experience. The whole show was full of smiles and laughter, start to finish. We will be back next summer, 100%β
βELDA is an incredible dance school which caters for every dancer. Whether dancing is your hobby or you wish to pursue it as a career, this is the right place to get started. In my 19 years at the dance school I have had the opportunity to take both bbodance and IDTA examinations and perform in outstanding shows. I have also seen many students go on to work as both performers and dance teachers. The commitment from the teachers at ELDA is second to none and I couldn't recommend anywhere better!β
βBest nursery around wouldn't send my children anywhere else. All 3 of my boys have attended over the space of 8 years and its just as brilliant now as it was then. The staff are lovely and will help in anyway they can not just for the children but parents too nothing is ever too much trouble. Would highly recommend and more so if your child is delayed as they really help them come along!β
βThis was my first time witnessing ballroom in real and live action~ quite frankly, Iβve never experienced anything like it! The atmosphere was incredible! Everyone was so kind, caring, and woven with such genuine passion- I am lost for words! I didnβt even dance, but with every incredibly created dress, dance and character that whizzed past- all coming together with so many stories to tell and to watch unravel, reveal and experience form the sides, through every fleet- pleat and ember- absolutely swooned and took me away in its lift for hours- euphoric! So deeply moving and passionate, as if I was the one dancing with them- it makes you want to just get up and dance! The Quick Quick Slow dance studio alike were very warm and welcoming- even for a newbie like myself who had no idea what to expect- and this goes for competitors alike! I was ushered in and enlightened with how some of the dances were conceived- what moves meant- even how it felt to feel them too; an insight that elevated with every show-stopping event I witnessed! So much encouragement and unreal passion! This has been an experience that Iβve waited to see for years- all the way from little βol Shrewsbury too~ I even awoke the next morning with effervescent dreams of joyous jives and swinging like a serenade under a new loverβs light- ballroom; roaring and revelling in the tunes for hours on end! Iβll definitely be back again! I hope so too. The only downside was that I knew I eventually had to go back home! :)β
βDave and Andrea are a hardworking, caring helpful couple who are a credit to the community. They took on my daughter for school work experience to help her out, as she has a strong passion for diving & fish, she has ended up completing a open water scuba and dry suit course. They have gone above and beyond to fight her anxiety and have fit in around her crazy gcses schedule for lessons, coursework and the test. They are well prepared for dives & stock everything you need in their shop. New, second hand, rental or buying, they also offer cylinder refills and a service department. They are backed by a fabulous team around them of really nice, helpful guys. They are like a diving family. We have just spent the weekend with them diving at capernwray & they really made us feel like part the family. We met some lovely families and are thrilled with the service we got. We are about to relocate and are gutted we have to start again but they have still offered their services if we need any advice or help. What more could you want?β
βDefyGravity Dance provides exemplary training in the performing arts. The teaching Faculty have been, and continue to be, working industry professionals across all disciplines, which ensures currency in the training, especially for the exam provision. With amazing performance opportunities in professional theatre venues across the City and beyond, alongside entry into competitions and festivals such as the Regent Theatre '0' show, DefyGravity excels in all that it provides for its students.β
βMy daughter has attended Happy feet for over 10 years. Happy feet is is more of a family than a dance school. The teachers are so Inspirational and amazing role models. It has always been a dance school for anyone with any ability. Such a supporting, nurturing environment I would recommend Happy Feet to to anyone thinking of dancing, children and adults alike. I will forever be grateful to everyone at happyfeet for helping my daughter grow into the confident young lady I always hoped she would be.β
βJust come back from having my first lesson. All I can say is wow! I didn't feel judged at all! Very informative, I had Sophie as the instructor and she was lovley! Definitely going back!β
βPerfect for parties and family gatheringsβ
βAll staff at Child 1st have been really good in helping our 3 year old to adapt to the pre-school environment ahead of him starting the School Nursery in September. From the settling in sessions to the communication on the app and in person we canβt fault it. Our son has enjoyed messy play and outdoor play and interacting with other children. This has also helped to further his development. We will be recommending Child 1st Stoke.β
βJust spent three days here with my two (13 and 10) on their first visit (and my first for 25+ years!). The theming, cleanliness and organisation of the park was excellent. The layout is big so be prepared for lots of walking! The skyride helps, as does the monorail from the car parks, otherwise that's a good 20 minute walk to the park entrance. All the staff we encountered were very helpful and friendly. Big shout out to Jack, who helped us find our car on the first night when we lost our bearings! The queues are really well managed, all the food was tasty (chicken tikka wrap from opposite Rita highly recommended and the rollercoaster restaurant near Galactica an excellent experience). Don't miss the cute little aquarium near Wicker Man. The water park was great fun too, the slides to outside a big hit and the coaster slide brilliant - worth the wait for sure. The free scare mazes were very good and even the souvenir prices reasonable. The gardens are also brilliantly kept and look great with the autumn colours. Only a few criticisms; lack of hooks on the back of toilet doors for hanging your bag and only cold water to wash your hands in most facilities. Also, the arcades needs some attention (a few had faults/blocked sections and the low end token prizes were limited and too highly priced).β
βAmazing selection of brand new gym equipment in a clean vibrant setting. Helpful staff.β
βFirst time we have been, looks lovely as we had a look round, they do lots of classes but unfortunately for me the ones I would like to do are in the day and I work. We went aqua fit and we really enjoyed it and are going again if we can get in as we would like to go on a weekly basis, but the booking system as changed more as an advantage for the membership customers, but for us membership would cost more as there are no other classes that I would be able to do in the evening as previously mentioned.β
βWas recommended to this shop by. SENCO lead in East Cheshire. My daughter is on the pathway and it usually can take 2 hours of school shoe shopping; with tears. Tantrums. Meltdowns and walking out of the door empty handed. Well not today. We were in and out in half an hour for 2 kids. Lady was lovely, didn't over stimulate or over load. Both kids came out with the first pair they tried on. I'm amazed.β
βMy daughter started the Nursey 3 months ago, she has settled so well. The staff have been amazing with her! She loves doing all the activities and we are always kept up to date. I canβt wait to see her thrive over the next two years. Thank you to all the staff in the toddler room.β
βI still go this school and it is the best school ever evan better than Hamilton infants schoolβ
βI love this school but I left in year4 and I miss it sooooooo muchβ
βIn my opinion the Crescent Academy is the best school if they have a great ways of teaching children learning methods to help them become geniuses sports days at the Crescent Academy make your children get involved and help them get into the winning spirits even know that it's not about winning it's about taking part they also encourage the children to try their best and win two certificates which gets awarded each week help the children feel like they have a competition so they want to learn more and become top of the class the certificates which are given out each week also help to students no that they are doing well in that lesson or in those subjects making them want to continue you being top and pursuing their Passions the Crescent Academy give the teachers that option to allow the students to go out for afternoon break only if they have done enough work and they have earned it or as a treat to Reading enough which I feel like really encourages for children to read and reading helps them expand their vocabulary and helps them with spelling and the way they write giving them neater and more visible handwriting and letter formation Overall the Crescent Academy is the best primary school about Speaking from experience because I was one of the students which went there even know that I prefer the old head the new head of the school really wants the best for our children The best Primary School ever Xoxoβ
