Fine dining restaurant in Newtownards

“Food was gorgeous! I had a turkey and ham dinner. We ordered coffees but after 25 minutes they never arrived so we paid the bill and went elsewhere. We phoned the week prior to book a table and were told just to arrive. We were queued out the door but only had approximately 10 minutes to wait for a table. Staff were very friendly. It was very noisy with people so it was quite difficult to have a conversation.”

“I took my family to Oliver's for Sunday lunch as we heard the sad news that they were closing. The food was superb and the staff very friendly. It's very sad to see a good restaurant have to close it's doors, I know Peter has done everything he possibly could to keep Oliver's running, sadly it is just not good times for the hospitality trade. My family wish Peter, his family and all the the staff the very best for the future.”

“Mediterranean dinner at Chef and Manager in Newtownards near Belfast. It is one of those places that do not exist on IG, yet known to locals and is always fully packed. We were so lucky to have got recommended it and to actually manage to get a table on a Friday! The food was exquisite, the flavours, the presentation, the staff, everything was done with extra care. One of those places when you feel the owners take it upon themselves to ensure you enjoy every detail. . What you see here is duck breast, so tender! Laid on some veggies, and a selection of sauces. Each of them takes you on a different journey. Second main was a rack of lamb (mint crusted), it had a charcoal flavour and the taste was complemented by Mediterranean veggies. Both dishes came with potato gratin. . For starters, we had beans soup and goat cheese fritters with beetroot and bread. I was so tempted to go there again during out short visit”

“This was our first time at Neill's Hill Brasserie and I'm so glad we decided to give it a go. Just a great meal from start to finish. The staff were so friendly and it had a great atmosphere! Starters were Cauliflower Wings in hot sauce and Halloumi fries, mains were Smoked haddock,mash, poached eggs with mustard cream and chicken schnitzel, desserts were creme brulee and apple tart. My wife had a Grapefruit Gimlet cocktail which she described as "delicious!" I could fault any of these dishes, they all tasted great and every plate was handed back clean! We will 100% be back for more and I have no hesitation in recommending this restaurant!”

“Great cafe in the East Side visitors centre on CS Lewis Square. Great coffee and a range of snacks/lunch food. Good for working too as upstairs is usually fairly quiet. Has a range of local artwork and products for sale too.”

“Have pretty much tried all the Chinese take-aways in Ards. They all do some things well and other things terribly. Most of all, I find the quality of the meat (especially chicken) from most to be rubbery and distinctly odd tasing. Not pleasant. Recently tried The Ruby on a few occasions and it is by far the most consistent chinese. Portion sizes are huge and the food is of a very high standard. The quality of the meat is much better than all the others and the chicken is proper chicken breast!!!! Looking forward to trying more of the menu, and just relieved that we have found somewhere that we can look forward to trying more of the menu. Oh, good value as well. A proper old school chinese that gets it right.”

“First time ordering and ordered a pepperoni pizza and wedges, slight confusion as it’s pork pepperoni and not salami pepperoni so asked for a change of pizza this was done quickly and with no complaints also got given a larger pizza for the inconvenience great service was really delicious!”

“Amazing restaurant and cocktail bar situated in dundonald near the hospital! We went on the night of the euros final so the restaurant was perfectly quiet and the staff were very friendly and held great conversations with us. The food was amazing and we were surprised with how nice it was as it was our first time being there. Will definitely be back soon!”

“My partner and I love a good Chinese but have felt that Newtownards is at a loss for good Chinese (especially on a Monday night when some close). We thought we would give here a try, and it was superb. Everything was flavoursome without being too salty, the girl behind the counter was very very friendly and the food was hot (something that you dont find very often in local chinese takeaways). We will definitely be back!”
