    The Foxes Den Restaurant

    ★★★★★ 4.8

“Food was gorgeous! I had a turkey and ham dinner. We ordered coffees but after 25 minutes they never arrived so we paid the bill and went elsewhere. We phoned the week prior to book a table and were told just to arrive. We were queued out the door but only had approximately 10 minutes to wait for a table. Staff were very friendly. It was very noisy with people so it was quite difficult to have a conversation.”

“A hidden gem just off the Boucher Road. As a regular customer I have found the staff warm and welcoming. The menu is wide ranging, and the food is great. Breakfast is class, and I would recommend the Bolt Breakfast if you like a traditional fry, however theres lots of healthier options too. The restaurant is good size with a series of different seating options.”

    No.1 Belfast

“In terms of Mexican food, always loved the B word in Belfast, though always thought I could have made it at home. And that's the main difference at No. 1. It just tastes different. The combination of (3) tacos...chicken, pork and halloumi, every bite, every chew, and every taste was different. Texture perfect. The beef wrap, huge, every bite offered something different, I don't have the vocabulary to describe the flavours. And the chips with guacamole, not a 99p pack of pre made nachos.. Everything made fresh and tastes fresh. Can't describe my excitement at finding this place in Belfast. The guy serving us was really dead on too. Actually can't wait to try more. No. 1, a fitting name.”

    The Muddlers Club Restaurant

    ★★★★☆ 4.7

“Expensive and a bit hit & miss with the courses. Sometimes the overwrought, complex nature of the dishes worked, and sometimes it didn't. (I do understand that you could argue that the complexity is the whole point.) So as an example one of my favourite dishes was the Venison Carpaccio, and it was perfect just how it was. But do you remember that horrible Kellogg's breakfast cereal "Special K" that people pretending to be on diets would punish themselves with? They'd inexplicably added homemade "Special K", a bit of moss, plum chutney, beetroot, and various bits of flower petals, and it felt unnecessary. However on the other side of that, they'd done God only knows what to the trout, and that was an absolute joy. And so it went on... 7 courses later and over £300 down for two people I would still recommend this as an experience, as something interesting and different. Also I must give a special mention to the Barman and the other staff, who were all fantastic. And they all seemed weirdly happy, which was a refreshing change for the mid-20s.”

Both entrees were well prepared and attractively presented. Desserts were tasty and a delicious end to a memorable dinner. I highly recommend this restaurant.”

“Delightful experience. Well deserved one star. The room is both stylish and relaxing. Service is warm and attentive but not fussy. The food was inventive and always delivered flavour with flair. The wine list is well curated and not overwhelming. Lots of variety and price points with a wide range of by-the-glass wines. We didn't go for matching wines but the sommelier Nick gave us great recommendations. Highly recommend for a special dinner.”

“We stopped off here on the way from Belfast to Derry after being recommended to go here by friends and by god were we glad we did! Our warm welcome from our very attentive waitress to having our drinks on our table within minutes and allowing the perfect amount of time for us to be ready to order. The kids menu for our 4 and 6 year old was great, they loved being able to choose a starter, main and dessert and having the fruit skewer as a choice is super healthy and great to see (i have added menu to pics). Our food was absolutely beautiful and nothing was left on our plates, perfect portions, perfectly cooked and presented and top class and friendly service from the staff. This will definitely be our go to place for trips to Belfast in future (just 2 mile from roundabout at Magherafelt (Derry to Belfast route) really couldn't recommend here any higher. Full marks!”

The main was Bang Bang Chicken with peanut sauce dip, oriental salad garnish, garlic cubed potatoes, and a side of tobacco onions. I was left mightily impressed and mightily full. Dessert had to be passed on this occasion, but the staff were lovely and very attentive. Thoroughly recommended”

“Coppi was amazing. I was there for my graduation celebration the week leading up to Christmas and it was so good. Our visit really topped off a really happy day marking the end of my studies in Belfast. We had the choice of ordering from the Christmas menu or the regular menu - we went for the regular. The only snag when I tried to make a reservation was the website not allowing reservation for more than a group of 6, so I had to call. Food was yum - try the nachos and thank me later. Service was attentive. Really can't fault it. Overall, a really positive experience!”

“Have been coming here regularly for years with my parents since back when it was Papa Joe's. The food is beautiful, they have loads of gluten free options, and I don't think the prices are bad for what you get. I think 9 times out of 10 the service is fantastic, there's the odd time you might be waiting a while for your bill and you have to flag down a member of staff as they pass by. If you're gluten free I highly recommend the Korean BBQ chicken wings and the chicken Tenby!”

It's very sad to see a good restaurant have to close it's doors, I know Peter has done everything he possibly could to keep Oliver's running, sadly it is just not good times for the hospitality trade. My family wish Peter, his family and all the the staff the very best for the future.”

The staff made sure we were well looked after even though there were a few really large groups! We thought we had booked into SHU but were seated in the downstairs area "Juls". It had a slightly different atmosphere with music with quite a loud bass. Not sure if the music was turned down or we got used to it but wasn't noticeable after a while!”

“This is my favourite café in Belfast. It is simple, straightforward and down to earth. The breakfast is wonderful, well cooked and not greasy. I've also had a couple of the lunch options - fish and chips and chicken goujons. Both were excellent. Lovely curry sauce, none of this fruity business, good little lick off of it. They take card or cash. The staff are very efficient yet you don't feel rushed. Far better than the like of Bob and Bert's. First class. Very highly recommended!”

I would recommend the chicken tikka shalzlek or lamb hot pot, tandoori king prawns are also a hit alongside the pishwari naan. Service was great. Fantastic authentic Indian”

“Wow. Where do I start. From the gin cocktail mixed by Christian right through to the very end, the meal was five star. Alex and Christina were wonderful waitstaff/ sommeliers who guided us through the meal from start to finish. The Amuse Bouche, the pigeon, the chicken were perfectly sauced and balanced, on a quiet Thursday night, the attention to detail was perfect. And excellent wine list, and suggestions from Christina to match the cheese course was spot on. I can’t rate Blank highly enough! Expensive? Yes. Worth it? Absolutely.”
