“Been wanting to try the food here since seeing Matts videos on Facebook. We had to travel from County Durham to Basingstoke today so decided to detour purely for a Sunday Roast. The food is amazing. Nice and fresh and the red cabbage is out of this world! I had a standard gammon roast and my husband had a large trio of meats, which he struggled to finish. The staff are super friendly and nothing is too much. We will definitely be back”
“Excellent food. Excellent service. Excellent atmosphere. This was my third visit, never had a bad thing to say about the place. Would revisit time after time. Top class.”
“Had our first Sunday lunch here today it exceeded our very high expectations. Amazing food cooked to perfection. We will definitely be coming back. Thankyou for a perfect Sunday lunch.xx”
“First time customer and we will definitely be returning along with telling our family and friends. Great portion sizes, even though it’s pricey- it makes sense! Food takes a little while but that’s because you can tell it’s cooked fresh so absolutely no issue there! Great place, lovely fresh food and huge portions … what’s not to like?”
“Held my husbands wake here. The hot and cold buffet that Jon put on was amazing definitely value for money and the cakes were delicious. Thank you”
“Fantastic real ale pub, ample clean pumps, selection of cobs, sausage rolls and pork pies. Good outdoor space.”
“Went in an afternoon to grab a quick pint. Fairly quiet, lovely spot near the windows with sunshine ☀️ Friendly service, warm ambiance.”

“My boyfriend lives in the village this tea shop is in and I’ve gone twice with him before to look around and went in only the other day on Saturday. Each time this cafe has been busy and overcrowded and I’ve felt so bad for the staff but each time, they’ve been exceptional. Smiley, friendly, quick and good at their jobs especially in a busy Christmas period. The food is beautiful and always quick and hot out of the kitchen; my eggs benedicts have always been perfect. I wanted to get everyone’s names so I could leave them here but they were so busy I couldn’t ask and they were so understanding when we moved tables and screwed up their seating charts even if we didn’t mean too. I can’t wait to come back again and try more of the menu, I hope all the staff enjoy their Christmas and know that they’re brilliant.”
“What a great, great spot. Lovely staff and such a nice vibe. Proper pub!”
“I went into Maliks with a friend to check out the new breakfast menu, and I was very happy that I did. Shakshukka with home made paratha, and my friend had the curried chickpeas and potato which came with a lovely spicy pickle accompanyment, and a delightful sweet halva too. Both dishes were freshly made and were definitely worth the visit. Friendly staff, superb food. The staff are extremely helpful, and are pleased to help. Portion sizes are very good. The breakfast menu is worth the visit, so if you enjoy indian food and want to try something different, give Maliks a visit, however they also do an English breakfast too [please see picture attached for the menu]. Breakfast is served 8am - 11.30pm so this gives you plenty of time. Free car park just over the road makes visiting easy, cant praise this visit highly enough. Definitely on my regular breakfast place to eat. Not expensive either which is even better.”
“Been here twice now and both times had a lovely experience. The food is lovely and the staff are too. The lunch menu is great value for money where you get a main a side and a refillable drink for £10! I definitely recommend the beef burger it’s lively. Would definitely come back again.”
“We literally just stopped outside as we were rambling past on our canal circular. Owner was happy for us to use the seating and the loos. Very pleasant and place was spotless inside. I'm stopping for lunch next time.”
“Always friendly... One of the few real estate pubs left these days.”
“We haven't visited The Dog at Harvington for years but we will definitely be returning soon. The service was amazing and good delicious. “I visited The Station Inn yesterday lunch time. The food was fantastic. There was an old fashioned steam roller outside serving Jacket potatoes and Nachos. The food was piping hot and lots of choice of toppings. There's plenty of free parking. The pub staff are welcoming and accommodating. The atmosphere was happy and warm. I am definitely going to visit regularly. A top notch pub. Well done.”
