Cafe in Brighouse

“Always a great atmosphere here; generally (and unsurprisingly) busy, but we’ve never yet failed to find a table. Really good layout with plenty of space. Dogs are made very welcome (with their own little treats corner), but there is a dog-free area for those that prefer it. Food is great, served quickly and delivered with a smile. Staff are fab and super-friendly. From the menu, a special shout out must go to the eggs bennies - our regular favourite - but the avocado toast and the mushrooms are also delicious! Really good range of drinks - especially very good coffees, and you can easily walk (or cycle) off your meal by stepping out of the back door straight onto the canal path for a little wander. We are not cyclists but will continue to be regular walk in visitors nevertheless. This place is a big favourite.”

“Food was delicious. Me and partner ended up here after seeing amazing comments on Facebook. We thought why not give it a try. We had a hanging bbq chicken and 10oz sirloin steak both cooked to perfection, by the way love the English onion bhaji. We had biscoff cheesecake and sticky toffee pudding to finish. Service was excellent. I real nice surprise and will visit again and highly reccomend to others”

“A quirky and friendly train themed café. I am a local and travel by train into London from Brighouse regularly. What better way to start the day than a very large breakfast sandwich! Not only is it better value than breakfast available during the journey there is more and it tastes better. This morning's breakfast changed my life.”

“Absolutely loved our playtime here. I've been a bit apprehensive about my return to work and my son starting nursery, but watching him play with other babies and want to independently play for the first time was lovely. Also the Mars bar stuffed cookie was blooming amazing!”

Plenty of space for sport, it has gym equipment, large playground, wooded area for dog walkers, a stream which children and dogs love to play in, and is conveniently right next to a Tesco. There is a car park at one end, and parking on the main road too.”

“I've walked by countless times and finally decided to give it a try. Much larger on the inside than it looks on the outside. The owner was lovely and chatty and oh my lord she makes a mean latte, bacon butties are lovely too.”

“Has had a lovely refresh since new ownership. A place with actual decent coffee and a children's play space is the ultimate dream for parents. Lots of space for pram parking . There is a step to enter but staff are helpful with getting you in. There is a changing table in the toilet (which is very clean) complete with emergency supplies! The children's lunchbox is also a great deal. Edit 15/8/25 I continually come back to Golden Linings due to the warm welcome from the staff, nothing is too much trouble whether you're there for 10 minutes or 2 hours. I will be sad to be not be here so often once I'm off Maternity Leave!”

“Amazing party. My 5 year old and her friends loved every minute of the glow in the dark disco. Even the parents were entertained. James is a very witty DJ/Organiser. Lots of fun had by all. Would 100% recommend.”

“A treat straight after the gym, the menu has lots of superfood options and a great selection of hot and cold drinks. I had the spinach and mushroom omelette which was DELICIOUS! My hubby thoroughly enjoyed his bacon and poached eggs with a carrot cake to top it off! Highly recommend!”

“What a little belter of a cafe! Proper hidden gem. Fresh quality ingredients with a massive tea cake. Quality sausages. Clean outside table and chairs. She cant do enough for you. Dog water provided. Just a cracking cafe so definitely our go to place for lemon Fanta with ice and blue and red straws in Brighouse . Good value to at under a tenner for 2 meals and 2 drinks!”

“Just had breakfast at this gem of a place. We had a lovely welcome on arrival. I don't eat beans and asked for mine without, they gave me fresh tomato as a substitute which was lovely. You can have a free hot drink top up if you want. Breakfast was super tasty and just what we wanted. I mentioned when we were leaving that I'd saved half a sausage for the dog. The owner called me and gave me 2 sausages to take home. How kind! Definitely worth a visit. Thanks so much, we will be back!”

“If you like real ale and craft beer, this is the best place to enjoy it. Its family run and full of atmosphere and nice people. They have music every Friday night at 8pm and if that's not your scene there is an upstairs section with more tables you can use which is a bit quieter but at other times the noise level makes it easy to talk to each other. Highly recommended .”

“I recently went for brunch at The Brooks in Brighouse and it was awesome. Right when you walk in, the place feels welcoming and cozy, making you feel right at home.The menu is packed with all sorts of yummy options. From the usual brunch goodies to some really unique dishes, there's something for everyone. I picked something off the menu that not only looked amazing but tasted incredible too. You could tell they used fresh ingredients because every bite was super flavorful. The staff at The Brooks were great as well. They were super friendly, always there when you needed them, and knew the menu inside out. “What an incredible pub. Really really nice food and great service from the staff. A warm and welcome venue that offers full table service and is dog friendly. The food was stunning and very reasonably priced. The car park was a bit small and very busy , but given how good the pub is , no wonder it's busy. We will be back !”
