“Had the garlic chicken balti and oh my, was it tasty? A rich, soupy gravy and just the right amount of spice. Highly recommend.”
“The hotel and staff were awesome, and the room was spotless, plus the hallway smelled amazing. But, I was bummed that the pool and gym were closed until noon, which was when I had to check out, even though I thought they'd be open. Also, the outlet in my room, 131, didn't work, and some of the furniture needs to be replaced because it's getting old.”
“Location was perfect, 5 mins drive from Hudderfield Private Hospital. Hotel and room very clean and well equipped. The staff, especially Maggie and Sarah were delightful. Very friendly and professional. We had received some unsettling news and needed to get off some urgent emails. They assisted and were extremely helpful and empathetic. Housekeeping were ace too and slipped a courtesy note under our door, would we like our room xleaned, we had forfotten to pop the Do not disturb sign on the door. Ibraham was in attendance behind the bar and he too was a joy. We are returning to the area in the very near future and without doubt this is where we will choose to stay. Entirely exceeded our expectations.”
“Polite friendly staff clean and tidy food nice just could of been hotter nice little pub inside”
“Didn't eat, but beer was great. Well kept ales, great prices, and they are part of the CAMRA discount and voucher scheme, which meant my pint cost £3.25. Amazing value. Great atmosphere, too, with 2 different footy matches on as well as a northern soul event.”
“the food is really good and delicious comes out really quick and the staffs really friendly and helpful and really attentive especially the young gentleman with a slick back and moustache he’s really friendly and will definitely make you laugh and make you feel welcome definitely coming back again”
“Good pubfor cask ale and free jukebox.”
“Not been, to be honest, just want to say it's great to see an old pub doing great things. Lived on Halifax Rd back in the 70s and remember seeing your pub everyday. Good Luck.”
“Travelled to stay with friends and arrived later than expected at nearly 10pm. As I was hungry the GOOD WILL was recommended by friends although when I searched online the closing time was 10pm. We called the takeaway and although I arrived there after 10pm they were happy to stay open just for me which was very nice of them. The food was absolutely delicious too. Thankyou GOOD WILL”
“Really pleased with our food! Donner meat was really tasty and the children loved their burgers. Will definitely be coming back. Thanks. Nicole and Gaz Walker.”
“THE ENGINE ROOM - Best Full English in Halifax, perhaps even Yorkshire. When I first looked at visiting Halifax in mid-December, I thought it looked rather bleak. But all the old wool carpet mills have been turned into an array of offices for various companies with cafes, restaurants and bars on the ground floors, and a Travelodge, where I stayed, at one end of Dean Clough Mills. The Engine Room is typical of finding a great cafe that really doesn’t look like much from the outside due to the stone built exterior and you wouldn’t know it’s a hidden gem. Inside there’s a large easy to read menu but best of all the prices for the food you receive, are absolutely worth every penny. I had been in an another cafe further in the town centre the day before for an all day breakfast but it was twice the price and nowhere near the quality of the Engine Room Full English. Tell me where else can you get what’s in my photo for £6.50 plus a hot drink for £2.60, all for well under a £Tenner these days? Food quality, the Full English is cooked to perfection. The mushrooms and small grilled tomatoes are a great touch, not swimming in tomato juice. Two lovely sausages and everything exactly as you want a cooked breakfast away from home to be. The Travelodge doesn’t do a cooked breakfast but it couldn’t compete with the Engine Room, if it did. Could anywhere in Yorkshire? There’s a challenge. I know where I’m going for breakfast, midday snacks and lunch the next time I’m in Halifax - The Engine Room.”
“Beau has put up lovely decorations for Halloween, she’s lovely and done a great a job. In past she has showed lovely service and a great service! She’s fantastic!”

“Second time we've visited since So Dough took over and have loved it both times. Generous toppings with outstanding bases! Highly recommend”
“I think after 10 weeks on a business trip, I can judge this restaurant pretty well. I've been there like 10-11 times. The best thing they have, based on my preferences, is the pide. Turkish pizza. It is so darn good I had almost every option they have in the menu. But also all their other dishes are tasty as well. I am really sad that I won't have anything comparable in regards to Turkish cuisine anytime soon when back in Germany. Don't think if a visit to this restaurant is worth it. Just go there. It's amazing. I can tell... been there so often.”
“Ate here a couple months back, burgers were made quick and service was grand (ordered and picked up myself). Everything was tasty, have been looking forward to eating here again!”

“I had salt & pepper chicken balls you get 5 omg they are SO delicious the ribs are always gorgeous. I cannot fault the place. It’s fab.”
“This is my first impression. FOR THE OTHERS I know food really well round halifax and was struggling to find a decent place as all the others were too sloppy with oil and grease and the cuts of meat were poor, and didn’t tase fresh. The portion size was good but the quality was not there. TIAN TIAN This place is amazing in every way, they have managed to get a great balance of flavours while retaining the correct consistency, and everything tasted fresh, with no oil or grease And the portion size was nice and generous Thank you I’ll be back”
