“Tried to find a 100amp fuse for my daughters Hyundai I10 after a good Samaritan jump started her car which didn't go well, Direct Car Parts at the end of my road "not sold any of them mate" chocolate tea pot rings out. Halford didn't have them but the guy at the till says try GOING SPARE, thinking ok I'm going further from home it worth a punt. Have you got any of these showing the fuse, what size is he asked... 100amp I say, that'll be £3.99 he replied, I'll have 2 then as it's been a pain to find them. All because someone jumped the car and didn't leave the leads connected for about 10 mins to give the battery time to charge a bit. She then had an undriveable car it would only run with a charged battery nothing in the car worked no speedo either. Even RAC didn't solve problem... diagnosed faulty alternator. They got car home following morning, knowing the battery was dead put it on charge till next day (should have fully charged battery by then) when I was going to look at it. As many thing weren't working I did say to my daughter there has got to be blown fuses somewhere so checked all the big fuse and found the alternator fuse blown and because the main ECU was not getting any feedback from alternator it turns a lot of the electrics off to keep car running.”

“Following a technical fault with my vehicle which required roadside recovery I contacted Swift via their WhatsApp account to hopefully initiate a possible diagnosis the following day. To my surprise I received an immediate response via the App and by swapping messages was able to have the vehicle recovered to the workshop ready for the following day. It was very reassuring at the time to know we had Swift in place to investigate the problem and to be able to leave the vehicle at their site overnight with a reasonable sense of security considering how late in the evening the vehicle recovered. I also received a call at 08:02 the following morning to discuss the matter in detail. The diagnostic process was complex, but ultimately a definitive fault was found and the relevant part replaced, additional work was also identified and I was happy to agree it’s completion as I like to have a well maintained/ serviced/repaired vehicle. Throughout the process, Swift communicated with me by email and phone and text, when I wanted to have a detailed discussion about the problem and resolve I was able to do so by being passed to the appropriate people in a timely manner. I was impressed by the way in which the team were keen to hear the history and scenarios whereby the fault had occurred, this was so much more reassuring than just being told that they would plug in the diagnostics and find the problem. The vehicle has been previously serviced/MOT’d by Swift and is booked again for 2026, all being well this recent repair will prove to be a success and enable me to use the vehicle with confidence. I currently feel reassured that in the unlikely event of a recurrence Swift would deal with the matter accordingly. I would definitely recommend Swift Motors.”

“Popped in to get my air con checked after being told by a national chain garage it was booked in with that they could not do it as it had the newer type gas and not the older type as stated when online booking. Now waiting for my refund. Arrived at C R Allen and the service was great, came straight out and had a look to confirm it was the old type gas which was great as it's cheaper. They then said they had a slot to be able to do it for me straight away. Told me the price and also advised having the pollen filter changed as it had not been done in the last 12 months. Price agreed and the van went straight in. Drove away an hour later all nice and chilled with my air con working. Happy to recommend.”

“I needed a battery check and replacement battery if as I suspected mine was on it's way out. Promptly checked and confirmed I needed a new one. Not a 5 minute job replacing the Kuga battery but all done professionally ensuring no loss of codes etc by friendly staff. My only slight criticism would be only one choice and price of battery but I was just a drive in, so maybe with an advance booking there may have been a choice. Also I joined the Halfords motering club that gave me a free fitting and £10 off the battery price and some future benefits. Overall a good experience.”

It went in a little worse for wear and came out better than it’s ever been. - upgraded my old handle bars to Aeros, - changed & re routing all the cables - wrapping new bar tape - adjusted the break and gear levers. - fixed my front mec - fitted a new rear cassette - fitted a new jockey wheel - gave the bike a ‘platinum service’ Throughout the service he kept me updated on how it was going and any recommendations he would advise. “I work with video cameras and last March I had to do a show that required an external Ninja V monitor for a camera via battery power, without the battery being attached directly to the monitor. I had all the right components except a cable that could go out of the SmallRig 12v (2.1mm) plate into the Ninja V (2.5mm). I had ordered a DC power supply adapter – converting a 2.1mm male to a 2.5mm male, but it was coming in the mail I wasn’t sure if I was going to get to me on time - so in a last ditch effort I went all over Brighton and Hove into every electrical shop I could find for over 5 hours, asking for parts, everyone looked at me like I was crazy. Finally, I went into Street Sounds and explained to Richard what I was trying to do. He simply said bring in the cables and the device and let’s have a look. I went home grabbed the bits and brought everything back. He asked: All you want is a 2.1mm on onside and 2.5mm on other side of a cable? I was like Yep! He went that’s easy, cut the 2 x cables to desired length, soldered the cable, threw some shrink wrap on it, heat gunned and said “test that”. I did and it worked perfectly. I offered to pay for his help, he said no, I offered to buy him some drinks or something for his time. He said No, it was a simple easy job only took like 5 minutes and sometimes it’s enough to help someone and see how stuff works. I wish there was more people with this kind of outlook and customer service. Thank You!!! ”

“Close by Berwick Railway Station there is a gem called Berwick Service Station. Despite living close by for many years I've used garages close to . my workplace. However, earlier this year I had serious engine failure nearby to Berwick Service Station. I was greeted in reception with a smile and immediately felt comfortable leaving my vehicle. They completed a major job to my entire satisfaction. Recently, an unfortunate shunt demanded another visit to this gem in Berwick and a lovely smile by Mary-Ann at reception. I had noticed some very posh expensive cars on their premises and was aware of their body workshop. George, their bodywork specialist viewed the damage to my vehicle and cheerfully conveyed 'no problem'. In record time my car was ready for collection and I was truly gobsmacked on seeing the superb workmanship both on bodywork and final paint finish. A truly professional piece of work by a craftsman. Look, I've told you about this gem, but don't go waffling to your mates in the pub about it.”
