“Nice store, always first place to go for materials when I'm doing a job over the weekend. Seems to have good stock as they always have what's needed. Found Laura to be very helpful.”

“Ordered 6x 9ft posts and 6x gravel boards. From start to finish the service was spot on despite lockdown restrictions and challenges. Easy online ordering, regular and friendly updates and quick delivery which was made as close to the work site as was possible. The quality of the product is excellent and the price is very competitive. I will certainly be using this company again and will have no hesitation in recommending others. Well done and thank you.”
“As a DIY customer I found Ashmead to be a superb service for products and advice. Delivery was as scheduled and efficient. Surplus products returned and refunded without fuss. Many thanks to all the staff at Ashmead. :)”
“Tile and floor have a beautiful selection of products. It was a nice discovery to go into their Bath shop for the first time today. Matthew was extremely helpful and knowledgeable and was able to provide the material needed for finishing our Bathroom. Thank you for that! We will be going back there to choose some of their porcelain tiles for our patio. Great selection and good prices . I would thoroughly recommend.”

“Spoke with Ella on the phone today, she was very helpful in giving me some rates per m2 for a couple of Chauncey's products. Getting an indication of rough costs per m2 can prove difficult with many suppliers but Ella was brilliant and supplied them over the phone with no trouble at all!”
“A national treasure. Good advice given free of charge and none of this "everything's in sealed packets" nonsense. Look and learn, B&Q EDIT: Just heard HRD is now under new management so if you haven't used them before, please pay HRD a visit and support a small independent trader providing great service”
“I’d really wanted to get into guitar for years and I’ve found Richard to be an amazing gateway and teacher! I really enjoy playing some of my favourite songs (lots of Bowie ;)) and I’ve even had the chance to play in open mic nights which I’ve really enjoyed.”
“As ever, I thoroughly enjoy visiting here. Gavin and the team are always friendly and helpful. Quality of timber is spot on, and a wide range of sizes and species is available. Regularly visit (couple times a month) and will continue doing so.”
“Brilliant shop- very knowledgeable staff. I was looking for some bolts for my old cold frame and they had exactly the right ones. Very happy!”

“We have been working with Joe at Howdens Yate branch for over a year on the design of our new kitchen, which is now installed. We are delighted with the final result. He has been meticulously helpful and cheerful in the face of our many meetings and changes of mind and has always come up with innovative solutions to the potential problems we have raised.”
“Quick and easy ordered on mobile collected 20 mins later. Great helpful staff”
“Fantastic find. I had two alcoves that were wasted space and I could find nothing to fit them until I found their website. They are busy, so expect a wait, but that means they must be doing something right! I chatted with Dave Simmonds who was technically top notch and helped me choose the wood I wanted, explaining the pros and cons. He even sent me photos of the panel he was going to cut from to ensure it would be ok. He informed me that my waney wood pieces would be challenging my size, but he could join smaller pieces, which hardly showed unless you knew. He also cut the wood to within 1-2 mm and was happy to cut it wonky to fit my alcove, but fortunately it was square enough. . This was my second dealings with them for a similar set up that was on the right hand side of the fireplace. First time, delivery timing was a bit restrictive, but has improved no end now they are using a new carrier with time slots etc. For the wood I was charged ~£1000 for each set of shelves and I thought that was reasonable, given the quality, service and getting what I wanted I chose oak - buyer beware that its tougher than the general wood from B&Q, but great to work with - don't even think about using an electric plane or non-wood specific drills! They also accurately cut the doors and sides for me to my chosen dimensions. All I had to do was a bit of trimming with a circular saw, drilling and varnish to bring out the gorgeous colour. I made the shelves float on the walls, by making the shelves sit on screws, hidden by routing the sides, even made the top slide in and out on the screws to access the wires hidden behind the false back.”
“The #1 shop for choice clothing in Bath. Beautifully curated and excellent service.”

“James and his Team are simply 'the best' timber supplier within 50 miles+, for prices, quality, delivery and service. I have been a customer for 15 years+ and never once have i experienced even a bump in their customer relations. Brilliant, I don't buy wood from any other company (that good).”

“Good merchant. Cheaper than SIG and 5 times faster. Know their stock too”
“Sean laid our hard flooring in the house and did a great job especially as our walls are by no means straight. He is very diligent and hard working plus always available to offer any advice regarding choice of flooring. I would definitely book Sean again for future flooring requirements.”
“Great service from Colin. Took my Makita screwgun in for repair, had the parts in stock and got it back the next day. Very good price for repair too. Wouldn’t go any where else.”
