“A delightful little cafe, and with an excellent purpose. We have visited regularly in recent years but a visit two days ago reminded me what a gem it is: lovely food, excellent value and a nice, friendly atmosphere :)”
“One of the best hidden gems on a budget in Bristol. The food is healthy and delicious, and I keep coming back for more. Definitely a really great choice for a lunch in the city centre with a friend.”

“Great local cafe. Good coffee, wide range of cakes. Good light meal range. Seating inside and uncovered seating outside in fairly quiet side road.”
“Staff are welcoming and friendly Reasonably priced Breakfast is yummy and massive”
“The veggie chunk soup was delicious and filling. Love the bread too! My granddaughter had tunamayo sandwich which is also very nice. The lady serving is very friendly. Moreover, there's parking space for my hubby's car. Will definitely visit again to be a First class customer, haha!”
“If you're looking for a great café experience, look no further! The food is delicious, the coffee is perfect, and the staff are absolutely amazing. I can't recommend this place enough! Go check it out!”
“Popped in for lunch with the girlfriend. Ordered bacon omelette and a beans and cheese jacket potato. Mine was delicious and the girlfriend said her omelette was the best she'd ever had! Waited around 10mins for food. Great atmosphere, lots of friendly locals and friendly service from the staff. Would definitely visit again when in the area.”
“Tried the new bits from the bakery which were lovely. Highly recommend the carrot cake! Will definitely be popping back in soon”
“What a super place. Warm and welcoming for us, and our four legged friends. Great coffee and the ice creams were a popular choice for the children.”
“Great place for food. Although usually have the breakfast. Friendly staff.”
“John and his team are so lovely. The food is made FRESH to order, so it may take a little bit of time if it's busy but it's worth it. We had the veggie breakfast wrap and it was HUGE! The picture doesn't do it justice. They also do homemade cakes which are excellent. Take away is also an option! Highly recommend.”
“The best jacket Potato I have had in Bristol. It is large, fluffy and a great amount of filling/salad. Also comes with really creamy coleslaw. Great value too for £7.”
“Popped into the cafe for a cuppa and a piece of cake yesterday. Coffee was great, service excellent and the carrot cake absolutely delicious. Thank you. Such a warm and convivial atmosphere and, despite the gloom, I caught a few moments of precious peacefulness outside too. Thank you. I'll definitely be back soon. Kindest. scott”
“Being new to the area, we were delighted to be greeted with such warmth and friendliness by all the staff at Hummingbird - the other customers were smiley and helpful too. We had a goat curry and a chicken wrap, great portions and tasty too. Oh and the 2 teas we had came in a nice big pot - top marks! Thank you all, we'll be back soon.”
“A small cafe which has been created to provide a training environment for the adjacent additional needs school. Great cakes and baguettes well served by the students. Also incredible value for money, 2 Coffees, a baguette and a slice of lemon cake. £10.50.”
“Went here for my sisters birthday brunch and it was a great experience. The food was delicious and the portion sizes are generous. Good atmosphere and lovely ambiance.”
“First visit here but not the last. It's small but cosy, nice and clean and the food was lovely. Staff are really friendly...what else do you want. You have to use the car park which is a couple of mins walk. Toilet a bit tight for a wheelchair and could do with a refurb but will forgive this as it's nice and clean. The takeaway cake is nice as well. Overall it is the best cafe we have been to so far in lydney”
“Very well thought out community farm. Everyone very friendly. Certainly a good place for young children and possibly anyone with additional support needs. Good selection on animals, and free entry. Parking can be difficult, however there are several cheap parking places nearby and easily accessible via a short walk. Would definitely return here”
“Nice Cafe and the ladies working there are friendly. Great selection of food from full breakfasts, sandwiches to jacket potato and burger and chips. Closes at 2pm and last food order is at 1.45pm if they have anything left... Seating area outside too if its sunny.”
“Honestly a hidden gem for families with children. Plenty of toys to keep them occupied and a very generous menu that caters to their allergies and all at a great price! All the adults had coffee, sandwich, and cake and it was all delicious! The staff were also super friendly and patient. Can't recommend enough!”
“We stop here quite regularly. Always great toasties and really good coffee. A bacon and cheese and a Brie and cranberry in the photos.”
“Go here, go here now. The Pizzas they serve are on another level, they are in a league of their own. The cafe is always clean and is neatly laid out. The staff are always friendly and laid back. Great if you have kids as there's a box full of toys. Also great if you want a coffee and to watch the world go by, or even a cheeky beer. I love this place.”
“Lovely breakfast - best we’ve had in a very long time! Fantastic value for money and lovely friendly and attentive staff. Will definitely be back and will spread the word ☺️”
“Lovely selection of food, staff were extremely friendly and service was quick. It was busy the 3 times I attended at various times across the weekend. Coffee was very nice (barista made) and cookies equally so. A wide selection of cakes and pastries as well as a menu of food choices such as breakfast sandwiches, cream teas, baked potatoes and toasties. Option to take away food was nice for when no seat could be found although patrons quickly moved on noting how busy it was and people waiting. Indoor and outdoor seating access from the cafe. Outdoor overlooked the road and small river running right in front Great access to the gorge from the site being just up from the caves and Jacob’s ladder.”
“Fabulous little café. The sandwiches were huge with really fresh ingredients and very tasty. We ordered a side of chips, which was also massive and they were lovely and hot and crispy. Definitely recommend! I can post pics of the food ‘cos we scoffed it all.”
“Have eaten here a couple of times now and it is fantastic. Small local place but accommodating for a large table. All food we have had has been amazing quality and delicious - pizzas, pastas, breakfasts, starters, and sides! Service is always quick and friendly. We’ll be back!”
“I had a mac n cheese bowl and one of their many ridiculous matcha flavours (hot matcha with caramel). It was all very delicious and the staff are lovely. Had a seat in the corner. It is a bit noisy and is mostly 2 seater tables, not loads of comfy seating. I did go at a busy time.”
“We visited Primrose Cafe in Clifton for breakfast and thoroughly enjoyed our experience. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, making it a perfect spot to relax on a weekend morning. We both had coffee that was freshly brewed and delicious, complementing the food beautifully. I chose the eggs Benedict, which was perfectly executed with fresh, poached eggs and a rich Hollandaise sauce. My wife had the croque monsieur, Both dishes felt like they were crafted with care, using quality ingredients. The staff were friendly and attentive, adding to the overall positive vibe of the café. The balance of a cosy ambiance with efficient service makes Primrose a lovely place to enjoy a leisurely brunch in Clifton. We will definitely be returning to try more of their menu!”
