“This is a great venue, it's such a beautiful building. Ideal for a variety of events. A lot of the original features remain, or have been replaced like for like. Much of the original brickwork, and flooring remain throughout the building. The modern meets historical vibe works well for this venue. Everyone is so helpful and friendly. Bar staff, reception, front of house, ushers, all make the space feel so welcoming. The lift might have been out of order, but they have a series of contingency plans, and everyone is able to access the venue. A lovely night was had, when 3 of us came to see Rosie Jones. (She was as fabulous as ever) A special shout out to Rowan who was so helpful from the moment we arrived, to the moment we left. There were several sets of toilets: Gender neutral Male Female Disabled I used the gender neutral toilets, and as I suspected, was absolutely fine! These toilets are great for single parents and carers of opposing genders, who may need to enter the space. Or, rather bizarrely, someone like me who just needed the loo! More spaces should consider installing gender neutral loos.”

“John and his team are so lovely. The food is made FRESH to order, so it may take a little bit of time if it's busy but it's worth it. We had the veggie breakfast wrap and it was HUGE! The picture doesn't do it justice. They also do homemade cakes which are excellent. Take away is also an option! Highly recommend.”

“Popped in for lunch with the girlfriend. Ordered bacon omelette and a beans and cheese jacket potato. Mine was delicious and the girlfriend said her omelette was the best she'd ever had! Waited around 10mins for food. Great atmosphere, lots of friendly locals and friendly service from the staff. Would definitely visit again when in the area.”

“Honestly a hidden gem for families with children. Plenty of toys to keep them occupied and a very generous menu that caters to their allergies and all at a great price! All the adults had coffee, sandwich, and cake and it was all delicious! The staff were also super friendly and patient. Can't recommend enough!”

The Chai Latte was delightful and will definitely be back to try their lunch’s and especially the cakes next time, as they looked very yummy. “Being new to the area, we were delighted to be greeted with such warmth and friendliness by all the staff at Hummingbird - the other customers were smiley and helpful too. “Passing through and saw this little place. Popped in for a bacon butty and a wee and it’s made me genuinely sad that I don’t live around the corner so I could visit every week. Staff (Sharon and Darcy) were so friendly even though we aren’t local. They had regulars (known by name) and clearly look after them making everyone feel special. Spending time chatting with an older gentleman. It’s opposite the park and botanical gardens, I walked the dog before popping in. Really wished I lived closer to be able to come back get bits for a picnic and stroll in the parks. Dog friendly too! Bacon butty - banging Takeaway brownie not yet eaten but smells divine. Service warm and friendly And the best bit, evening guest chefs and wine! Anyone have the number of an estate agent?”

“First visit here but not the last. It's small but cosy, nice and clean and the food was lovely. Staff are really friendly...what else do you want. You have to use the car park which is a couple of mins walk. Toilet a bit tight for a wheelchair and could do with a refurb but will forgive this as it's nice and clean. The takeaway cake is nice as well. Overall it is the best cafe we have been to so far in lydney”

Parking can be difficult, however there are several cheap parking places nearby and easily accessible via a short walk. Would definitely return here”

“Oh my God! An awesome place for breakfast. Found this on Google as it was a 3 minute walk from our hotel. Turned out to be one of the best breakfasts in years... I had a beetroot Pesto avacafo Sandwich - it was AMAZING!!! The flower on top was literally like the cherry on top. Everyone on our table loved their sandwiches and croissants. The vibe of the place was outstanding... Plants for sale and a bunch of lights make it even better. Will be surely coming back if I am in Bristol again!”
