“My Mum has been at the Hawthorns for a year now and it has been fantastic, such a great location right by the sea. All the staff are amazing, working very hard whilst always being friendly and helpful. Nothing is too much trouble. My Mum finds it very reassuring to always have someone on hand for either a question or just a chat. The Hawthorns is very well managed, from cleaning, maintenance and communication to trips and events. It feels efficient yet homely and there is always a buzz around the coffee hub as residents gather for a chat. I now have peace of mind that my Mum lives somewhere where she can still be independent yet has help around if she needs it. Thanks to everyone at the Hawthorns, you do a brilliant job.”

“Visited Escala on a Friday night. From the get go the atmosphere was lovely. We had a lovely lady seat us. We ordered a nice bottle of white wine and browsed the menu. The menu has a selection of great choices. Every dish we had was stunning - attached photos with what it is. Really recommend the scallops & sprouts!!”

“Excellent communication leading up to the event and dealt with our queries quickly. The outside event space was perfect and beautifully set up on a lovely sunny afternoon. We had a personalised drinks menu which was a lovely touch. We pre ordered food in advance and it was excellent-large portions and very tasty. Service was amazing -always there offering drinks and our every need was dealt with efficiently. Would highly recommend -every part of our celebration was perfect. Thank you Murray’s”

The food was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone — beautifully prepared, full of flavour, and clearly made with care. What really stood out, though, was the exceptional service. Attentive, friendly, and professional throughout, the staff helped make the day feel truly special. “The Salthouse Bar is a great place with a fun and lively atmosphere. The staff are friendly and quick to serve, and the drinks selection is really good — from cocktails and beers to spirits and wines. The music and vibe make it perfect for a night out with friends, and it often gets busy in the best way. The place is clean, modern and has a nice mix of seating areas inside and out. Always a good time here — great drinks, great people, and a great atmosphere every visit.”

“I booked Christmas lunch for 31 . The choice of meals are very good, even duck leg with cherries. Everyone enjoyed the meals they chose. Even comes with complimentary mince pie & coffee. Well done to Tim & all his team.”

“We all had a fantastic evening at the Pear Orchard (The Hollow) Myself and my siblings arranged a surprise Anniversary for our parents 55 years! The evening was perfect in every way. Highly recommend venue. The memories we made and the fun we had in a hidden gem in Kingston Seymour will be treasured forever. “I was on my own and having never visited before, I entered via the spiral staircase at the top level, not knowing there was a level entrance below! You order and pay at the till. I luckily had a seat indoors, by the entrance, at a table for 2, facing the pier. Best seat in the house in my opinion, especially if on your own. as what a view! The service and food was outstanding, generous portions, and delicious coffee. The waiting staff checked that everything was OK with my meal. I had no complaints at all. It did become very busy and by the time I left every table was taken. I'm glad I arrived relatively early. (12.15ish) I have recommended it to friends and family if they are in the area.”

“I cannot thank this pub enough for the kindness they showed me recently. My car broke down nearby while I was already running late for the airport, and with no phone signal and no clue what to do, the staff stepped in without hesitation. They kindly let me leave my car in their car park for a few days while I sorted everything out, and even gave me access to their WiFi so I could book a taxi. Thanks to their help, I managed to make my flight in the end. Everyone I met there was genuinely lovely, friendly, understanding, and willing to help someone in a stressful situation. Proper good people and a proper good pub. I highly recommend visiting them. They fully deserve your support.”

“Visited this place a few times now, for brunch or dinner. Lovely cosy interior. Plenty of tables. The food is very good also, with lots of choice. The tapas boards are delicious and very good value for money. Staff have always been friendly and attentive also. They had live music in this restaurant recently also, with a singer on the upper floor. Good singer but perhaps didn't need the amplifier and microphone, at least not so loud, as it's not a huge venue. Made it difficult to have a conversation. Minor issue though as the food was still excellent and the atmosphere is generally good in this place. Definitely recommend it for those visiting Clevedon.”

“Booked to go after our walk in the area. Booking was flexible and they kindly kept our table even tho we were a bit late. Kept us a big table with plenty of breeze for the dogs which was much appreciated. Food was excellent and served very quickly, despite the restaurant being busy. Puddings were amazing - I had the waffle which was HUGE!! All in all an excellent place to eat and we will be back”

“Locals pub. Excellent atmosphere Friendly staff. Everyone looks out for each other. Community asset. Toilets clean, hand gel available. Wish they did bread rolls, only crisps etc available. Chip shop 30 yards away, can eat on pub.”
