“Wonderful food and a very friendly staff love it And the tea was very tasty”
“My stay at voco St David's Cardiff was truly exceptional and easily one of the best hotel experiences I have ever had in the UK. This hotel is an iconic landmark for a reason! Location & View: The setting on Cardiff Bay is simply breathtaking. I highly recommend booking a room with a balcony; the panoramic views over the water are unforgettable, especially at sunset. It's perfectly positioned for exploring the bay area, with easy access to the waterfront bars and restaurants. Service: The staff deserves special commendation. From the moment we checked in to the minute we left, the service was attentive, warm, and highly professional. Every request was handled quickly and cheerfully. Comfort & Design: The rooms are luxurious, modern, and spotlessly clean. The 'voco' touches—especially the super comfortable bed and premium amenities—ensure a restful night's sleep. The overall hotel design feels stylish and sophisticated without being stuffy. If you are looking for a top-tier experience, amazing views, and flawless service in Cardiff, look no further. Highly, highly recommended!”
“I spent one night with a friend at Zip at the end of September 2025. We paid £26 for a twin room. The room was spotless, the facilities were nice, but the staff truly made the difference. From check-in to check-out, I felt cared for much better than in many other hotels. A special thanks to Mell for her kindness and valuable support at breakfast she really set the right mood for my day. It was unexpectedly surprising to find such kind and genuine people in a low-cost hotel.”
“My son goes to the school opposite the library”
“Stayed for the weekend with friends and family in 2 separate lodges. Staff could not be helpful enough when called upon and very friendly. This place is totally hidden away and a breath of fresh air considering its only a stones throw from the busy M5. There are several choices of accommodation which are all spotless, we'll equipped and nicely spaced apart from each other. For those that love the water ,canoes, kayaks and paddle boarding is made easy with a lovely wide calm stretch of river to explore, if that's not enough they also have we'll instructed archery and axe throwing. We had 12 adults in our group who all said we'd return again. Great stay ,many thanks to all the staff.”
“So it turns out that there’s more than one of these cafes and this one is great too. Location is fantastic on the corner of Victoria Park and the corner position is ideal for catching some sun on a nice day. Food and coffee is excellent with the savoury Welsh cakes being a signature option here and at the Roath location. Really friendly staff - shout out to Robin for a lovely conversation with my breakfast. They also had posters up for Dirty Gnocchi doing evening food there, so we will definitely be back for that. Unexpected in this location but definitely recommended. There’s also parking outside, which is at a premium in this area.”
“First visit and I was very impressed. A very festive and friendly atmosphere. Excellent, tasty food and service. Will definitely be back”
“We visited yesterday and I had the poached eggs on sourdough bread. I have to say these poached eggs were the best I have ever tasted in my life. They were cooked to absolute perfection. The yolks were perfect, just the right consistency and totally delicious. I'm not a great fan of the white preferring the yolk, but these whites were delicious too. The addition of the sourdough bread as opposed to ordinary bread added to the taste also. I don't know how your chef made this simple meal so exquisite, but please pass on my compliments to him/her. My husband enjoyed his omelette too. Will be back!”
“Great food at a good price! The staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful — they really create the warm atmosphere of this place. Highly recommended!”
“Loads for the kids to do. Prices are reasonable and match what you’d pay in Cardiff / Newport. Cafe was well stocked with plenty of options. Lots of seating for the parents.”
“Stayed over 1 night as visiting Cwmbran. Lovely double bedroom Coffee/hot chocolate and tea available. Bathroom to a standard. If you add breakfast, dining area is very good. Only let down was that you had to have waitress service for hot drinks and cups were very small. Maybe provide a larger cup !!! Self service on break buffet. Cold drinks , juices, fruit, toast and jam available. It is best to ask for veggie sausages if you are veggie before breakfast starts, as not cooked in buffet selection.”
“Cant fault the staff or food. Staff are very polite and friendly. Food was well presented, tasted delicious and nice pipping hot. I admire your work. Xx”
“We had a lovely stay! The staff were very friendly and helpful. They also have specials for front line and social care workers that were really appreciated as well as vouchers for parking in the city centre. It's very conveniently located. I'd recommend having a 'do not disturb' sign as we had people knocking on the door twice in a 1 night stay. We were right by the lifts so maybe just bad luck there.”
