College in Cardiff

“Don’t fear university halls! I’ve had the best year here. Although it is about a 30/40 minute walk away from the university campus and city itself, I found this bonded people who lived in the halls together, particularly people in my flat. I lived in Birchwood flat 1 which had 11 other people. The bedroom is much more spacious than all other university accommodation I visited throughout the year (because there was no en-suite or double bed). The shared bathrooms were alright, we had 4 toilet cubicles and 4 shower cubicles per flat. We had 2 kitchens which were quite spacious. The flat got cleaned on a weekly basis. Throughout the year I had a few maintenance issues in my bedroom but these were all resolved within the next 1 or 2 days of reporting the issue. There was an hourly bus on weekdays which did a loop of 4 main university buildings (medical school, business school, student union, engineering school) and started at 8:10am and finished at 5:40pm. In the evenings we ordered ubers to go into the city or student union, when spilt these were around £2. The halls are about a 10 minute walk to Roath park where we went on walks, played games, and had a barbecue in the summertime. There is also some green space in university halls and a MUGA. Overall, university hall is one of the biggest university accommodations so although it is far, you are not alone! Your experience will be more dependent on who you are around rather than where you are, and I found amazing friends in Birchwood and wouldn’t have wanted to live in any other accommodation.”

“WOW...what can I say about RUAS. Very Professional in their approach to Flight Training..The online Learning package is very thorough but easy to follow in steps.its set at a good pace, alot to take in at first, but RUAS are Always on hand for advice. The whole team I cannot fault tbh, and the training/ practical day we had at Coleg Sir Gar Campus near Carmarthen was again well run and all helpful input by RUAS staff. If your looking for advice or any training, look up these guys, based near Newport. I went from a complete Novice, to fully trained in the use of UAVs with RUAS. Keep up the Fab work.”

“One of the most interesting and beautiful wedding venues in Wales! I love photographing weddings here because of the variety of wonderful spaces both inside and out. The incredible Brandenstoke Hall always delights guests for a wedding meal like no other and the tiered gardens that have many hidden gems to discover. There's even the opportunity for photographs down by the sea for adventurous newlyweds. I was most recently there last Summer for Bronwen and Andrew's day. “Absolutely excellent, friendly service. Lovely setting in the heart of Cardiff. An easy place to find that serves Welsh food. Never having had Welsh rarebit before, I was eager to try it but I have nothing to compare it to so perhaps that is what it was supposed to taste like. The cheddar was not in any way sharp so perhaps the other ingredients overwhelmed the taste (?). It was effectively toast with a slightly cheesy taste with very little flavor. Bland would the word. The croquets had the right texture. Crispy on the outside, creamy in the middle. But again, it felt under seasoned - although maybe that is what it is supposed to taste like? All in all, worth a visit but if Welsh food is supposed to be bland, then it is certainly that.”

“Tried their spa experience which included a jacuzzi, sauna and steam room for 2hrs for £20pp. Very welcoming staff and excellent environment. Total of 9 people in our session. They provide you with towels, gown and sleepers. Would definitely visit again! Be aware that you might be asked to give a booking deposit over the phone to confirm your reservation.”

“I use the studio for private rehearsal and the rental fee is the cheapest in Cardiff and Newport and well worth the price. The Owner was quick to answer the phone and talk me through opening up the venue. Will definitely be my go-to for any rental needs in the future”

We’ve been blown away by the quality of experiences that they’ve had, performing at both the RWMCD and the WMC in the last few months, just awesome for them. “My daughter has been going to Cast for 4 years now and she still loves it. She has been given some amazing opportunities to play some fantastic parts. The productions Cast put on are always very professional and the children are all fabulous. They also provide and make all the costumes themselves. I can't fault Cast and the whole team, they are all very friendly and approachable.”

“University of South Wales - Newport Campus is a fantastic place to study or attend conferences. The campus is absolutely stunning with a very attractive structure and plan. The university offers many features including a canteen with great quality food (although can be a bit pricey sometimes) as well as a very effective library with hundreds of books that are available to borrow.”
