“Modest café situated right on Barry Island seafront. I wasn't expecting much in the way of either quality or value. However I was very pleasantly surprised when my lunch arrived, to receive a generous slice of steak and ale pie which was absolutely packed with filling, a decent pile of nicely-cooked chips and peas, all served piping hot on a hot plate, just as it should be! It was also very nice that the gravy came separately in a jug with a lid, to keep the contents hot... brilliant! The staff were clearly working hard during lunch service and yet still managed a smile and to exchange pleasantries. I'll definitely be back, next time I'm in town. “It is our first time to try this restaurant for take away today. The staff is really really nice and friendly. We ordered three dishes and the price is incredibly reasonable. When we are back to home and taste it, I will say it is very fantastic and very delicious. It is very outstanding in terms of quality and taste, and I can say the taste is very traditional which is already very hard to find similar high quality dishes like these even in Hong Kong and China right now. I would highly recommend it to everyone and look forward to try other dishes again this week.”

“This is the second time I have used Party Central in Llandaff, and I would highly recommend them if you are looking for balloons for a special occasion. George went out of his way to help me with balloons for my daughter's baby shower, even ordering in a particular colour of balloon that I wanted, to see if it suited my requirements. He was extremely helpful, friendly and patient whether that was over the phone or by email. The balloons were delivered on time and were exactly what I was looking for. Faced with that, Paloma went through the options with immense patience, explaining what everything was and what might go with which. “We found this place on Google while staying at Premier Inn. A walk of no more than 5mins. A warm welcome,restaurant was very clean and tidy. We were treated as honoured guests,staff courteous and friendly. A bottle of Pinot,a couple of lagers sipped while we waited for dinner. Garlic bread for 2 , lol,,,its huge,dripping with butter,hot cheese and lashings of garlic. The olives where lovely. Spag bol was rich and tasty. Lasagne was luscious. Seafood linguine was sublime. Deserts ,lovely ! Fabulous evening, very reasonable and a huge thank you.”

The food: beautifully presented, rich in flavour and reliably excellent. Booking ahead meant we could all pick our menus, which made the evening run smoothly. The service was exceptional from start to finish: friendly, attentive and genuinely hospitable. The fact the owner even has a French wine ready for me, knowing I prefer it, speaks volumes. Extra bonus: we were welcomed to bring our own birthday cake (and what a chocolate-tower it was!), and staff were only delighted to help make the moment special. “We visited Vittorios on a Tuesday evening. Lovely atmosphere, with family celebrations taking place and other groups of people. So despite being early on in the week, and not a weekend, it was still busy, demonstrating it is a firm favourite amongst customers. The staff were, I’m assuming family, and you could get that family run vibe whilst there, which added to the positive experience we had. Staff were attentive, whilst Also giving space and privacy to enjoy our food. Earlier the previous week, unbeknown to me my husband had spoken with Vittorios to arrange a ‘quiet area’ to sit down, so that he could propose to me to renew our wedding vows. We were placed in a quieter area, and my husbands request was managed discreetly without me catching on. Our wine was being brought to our table mid proposal and the young lad bringing it completed a 180 degree turn so fast to give us the space and privacy during the special moment. I couldn’t fault him for this and was impressed by the service we received. They congratulated us afterwards and gave us a complimentary celebratory dessert which was unexpected, but a really lovely touch. All food was hot, delicious and there were large portions. This restaurant is a local gem in Newport, and we are very grateful to have a created a treasured memory during our visit there. 10/10 service, food, and value for money.
