“I've been put off from ordering due to negative reviews for some time but tonight thought I'd just give it a go So I'm specifically looking for freshly grilled chicken and lamb on the skewer over a flame grill. Something I used to get at TJs in Leicester many moons ago. The key elements for me is never old meat sitting in a bain Marie and the option for grilled onions and peppers. So here's what you get. The most succulent, delicious and perfectly barbecued chicken and lamb straight off the skewer. Perfectly marinated and cooked fresh. The option of grilled peppers and onions and absolutely incredibly delicious barbecued mushrooms for just only £2 extra. The naan bread was soft and delicious and perfectly crisp on the outside. Generous portion of salad and delicious. Slightly crispy but perfectly pickled peppers. Food arrived. Piping hot and can only wait at 10 out of 10. This is by far my new favourite kebab place in Derby. We will be ordering again!”

“We visited today for my birthday and oh my goodness it's was brilliant. Absolutely fantastic service from a very friendly guy (didn't get his name!) from the minute we walked in. So refreshing to have a waiter who does things so well. Cocktails were lovely and well made and the birthday card was a very nice touch. We both had three courses, and finished every last bit of it all! Really delicious. My husband particularly enjoyed the Thai sweet potato soup and I absolutely loved the rump of lamb. The flavours were so fresh and delicious. Felt like a real treat to visit somewhere so lovely. Can't wait to revisit! Thank you!”

“Came here for the first time tonight after the refurb, Finn is an asset to the team, he went above and beyond. Great at delegating professionally to make things run as effectively as possible! Only thing I would say is that the chips could be made more crispier as they were on the dryer side. I do hope Finn gets the recognition he deserves for providing excellent customer service.”

“Had a team dinner we were approximately 20 people, made a reservation and got there and everything was set up very nicely! The food was delicious really felt like the chefs were able to bring out the authentic flavours of Nepal. Great hospitality, efficient service - bit slow maybe due to the large orders but nonetheless a very pleasant experience.”

“This Italian restaurant tucked away in Derby's city center is a real hidden gem. Delicious authentic Italian pizzas, we got a capricciosa and ai carciofi, a tough choice as there's a large menu to choose from, but they were both amazing. Incredible Italian desserts as well, one of us had tiramisu and chocolate ice cream and the other had the cannolo Siciliano. A real taste of Italy! It was quiet and cosy in the restaurant as we went at 5pm on a Tuesday, I'd love to see it busy and buzzing in there as it's a wonderful little place.”

“Beautiful restaurant serving authentic Thai cuisine. Everything about this restaurant is excellent: the decor is elegant but inviting, the food is superb, and the staff are fantastic. There’s plenty of options for vegetarians and diners with dietary restrictions. Dishes can also be adjusted according to your personal preference. Special mention and thank you to the lady (sorry I didn’t get your name) who was so lovely and made my day extra special when I told her it was my birthday. Your kindness was very much appreciated. I highly recommend visiting Thailand No.1 Matlock, but I would probably reserve a table if visiting at the weekend as I have a feeling it gets incredibly busy!”

“Very nice dinner, food and service! We thought of celebrating our anniversary and were searching for a restaurant somewhere nearby to Mickleover in Derby and find this gem of a place! Amazing place. “Singh’s Punjabi Restaurant is a cosy place that perfectly catered to me and my friend’s meal. As a vegetarian, the options on the menu were extensive, which is something I rarely experience, and from what I ate, the food was delicious. I also really appreciated the vibe of the restaurant; customers knew the staff, and that resulted in a welcoming and social environment. The apple juice was also exquisite.”

“Wanted to try something new so me and the mrs went to this lovely establishment. Greeted as soon as you walk in, friendly, very welcoming. The food was amazing. Will deffo go again and I recommend this to anyone! Even if you don’t like fish, they have a vegetarian option! Plenty of drinks to choose from. I had the strawberry milk tea with cherry balls and a grape juice with grape balls. My Mrs had chocolate milk tea with chocolate balls. Absolutely unreal!”

“Wow first visit had the mega munch box and wow the food was awesome best Chinese food I have ever had a must try the munch box is the best value you get so much for £25 the spring roo.s and samosas were unreal, ribss great taste chips were good not you cheap crap chips very chunky then the fried rice and noodles were a great, curry and sweet and sour sauces were just sublime all in all Deffo return, I only have one remark is the young man taking my order very how can I say , grunted there was no hello welcome to goldengate my names Jim how can I help, that sort if thing. “It was 10:15pm on a Sunday night and I needed an evening meal on my way back to the Premier Inn. Really fancied a Chinese, and this was only about 3 miles away. Very nice lady, pleasant atmosphere, neighbourhood felt safe, and the King Prawn Chow Mein was absolutely delicious, just what I needed!”
