βMy partner and I have both been coming here for a while now and couldnβt recommend it more. Iβve been seeing Krista and sheβs been amazing at working through my shoulder injuries and helping with ongoing pain caused by hyper-mobility. My partner sees Rhian and has had the same great experience. Both of them are incredibly skilled, professional, and genuinely care about helping you improve. Iβve seen massage therapists monthly for about a decade now and these ladies are easily the best both in knowledge and results. Whether youβre looking for just a one off session to help relax or you have a more serious chronic issue I have no doubt theyβd be able to help.β
βI started Kuk Sool Won in March as a way to take my mind of the stresses of work. I was quickly made to feel really welcome by everyone especially the instruction team. After a few months I decided to bring my 2 very different kids along which was a great move! They both love it! One is more athletic so loves that element of it while the other is more sensitive who really enjoys learning the techniques and forms. For us it has meant we can all share something positive and we even occasionally have kuk sool play fights so it's been great to bring us together. I struggled to get "the sensitive one" into any activity so the fact that he has taken to Kuk sool has been great from a parents point of view to see the development in him over the past few months has been really positive. I couldn't recommend highly enough from an individual, family or kids perspective there is something for everyone.β
βAppin have been excellent to deal with from start to finish. Lots of support and guidance as we designed our clubs kits, plenty of updates as we progressed the order and excellent follow-up as well. Sophie has been great to work with and we'll be recommending Appin to everyone.β
βThe team at the Mayfield branch has been fantastic in helping me recover from various injuries and general wear and tear. They have all been very warm and friendly with extensive knowledge in physiotherapy and massage. Their model compared to others is very refreshing, and I really appreciate their online booking system and late night and Saturday sessions which makes finding and booking a session, very easy. A great physio and I think you would struggle to find better, across Edinburgh.β
βJust want to say that Julie in the store was fantastic. Helping us find exactly what we were after and letting us know of all the offers. Wish every shop had a Julie! Travis age 13.β
βWeβve been doing the weekend outdoor classes with our 5 year old. Chris is a brilliant coach: friendly, inclusive, adaptive to all levels (me = extreme beginner and scaredy-cat and yetβ¦ I love it). Our kid is loving lessons, itβs helping him gain confidence and resilience, and most importantly heβs having fun doing it :)β
βFantastic place .spotlessly clean amazing amount of equipment. You could eat your dinner off the floor its that clean .staff are very nice .and the scottish rugby team have been known to use it to.along with the sports science faculty too... This place just gets better and better this is what sports and fitness places should look like.β
βWill rate three stars as never been before but I will be coming in June this year on holiday. So will rate again then. Can you scuba dive here and can the staff take my pool pictures on my go pro? Changed rating to 5 stars as of July 2025. Been almost a month since my last visit. Enjoyed every minute of lot. Enjoyed the shallow pool more because it was so hot.β
βI attended a party here where the rugby club has a room for members, with a bar and a music playlist was set up and a buffet. This was the rugby clubs premises however, when know members of the club, you're able to use the facilities such as the bar . It was spacious, a good size space in the centre of the room for dancing. Sufficient seating around the edge if the room. Tables too of course. Not oversized, its hard to say how many people the room holds, there were quite a few kids at the party too. I'd say there probably 40-50 people? Some people stayed for different lengths of time so that's really a guess. The ladies toilet was outstanding. It was extremely clean. An excellent hand drier, great lighting (considering your coming from a much darker room) also the decor was nice. Subtle accessories such as the orchid plant can make events more pleasant and less stressful. I think for many, as its in South Queensferry, there were allocated driver's so take into consideration if arranging events here and using the bar, how far people are travelling and times of public transport or pricing a taxi.β
βA landmark public swimming facility, originally built for the 1970 Commonwealth Games and recently refurbished. Its distinctive brutalist architecture houses an Olympic-length pool and diving facilities, representing a commitment to public sport and modernist civic design in Edinburgh.β
βGreat tennis facilities and clay courts in a picturesque setting. The only downside was the lack of catering. There is an excellent chinese restaurant nearby- the Imperial Palace, and the Waitrose in Morningside is excellent and has a Sushi Day counterβ
βLovely staff, nice cafe next doorβ
βDon't go to Juvenate Health & Leisure as much as I would like to, the gym, pool, sauna and steam room are more than adequate. The staff and members are always friendly.β
βGreat place to swim and workout while visiting Edinburgh if youβre staying close enough - itβs walkable from my place in Stockbridge, but thereβs also plenty of parking. They are offering a great summer price special. Matthew at the front was super helpful getting me signed up and oriented. All of the staff have been very friendly. The gym is well equipped, very clean, and not too busy during the day. Plenty of lane space in the pool for laps. The water is too warm for a serious swim workout, but this is usually the case for multipurpose aquatic facilities.β

βI had an amazing experience at The Island Tattoo Studio, and it was mostly because of the incredible people there. I was tattooed by the talented Ghazal Jafari, and I canβt say enough good things about her. Sheβs incredibly skilled with a soft touch, so my tattoo healed quickly. Plus, sheβs just so kind, which made the whole experience even better. Iβm so happy with the end result and showing it off to everyone! The studio itself is such a cool space. Itβs quiet and professional, with a great vibe. The people who run it are super kind, and the environment is just perfect. Thereβs nice music, beautiful plants everywhere, and the design makes you feel really at ease. I canβt wait to go back!β

βI have been coming here since it opened having gone to Charlene for about 20 years. I have booked treatments for my daughter as a treat. She said that it was the best she ever had. Who doesnβt love a scrub experience. I have yet to try the reiki so it was recommended by Almira today and I will book. My nails r always well done too. Frankly would not go anywhere else. There is also a loyalty scheme. Whoop whoop itβs a win.β

βThis was my second course with FEA & was happy to be back training with them again. Anita was brilliant at making it interesting and fun as well as educating us in our chosen course. It can feel like information overload at times but Anita helped us focus our attention where needed and was very encouraging which ultimately helped with my confidence in my ability to achieve. Thank you again and I will be back I am sure.β

βAmazing range of equipment from toddlers to pre teensβ
βA very pleasant gym. The machines are kept very clean and the staff is very nice. Even though it's not a big gym, it has everything you need. Also in a fantastic location!β
βThis place is an oasis of calm even when the rest of the city is busy! It's a members only club, and there is sometimes a wait for membership - I had to wait about 6 months, but it was worth it. The pool is often very quiet, with only one or two other people in it - I've had it to myself occasionally! There is a steam room, sauna, and hot pool by the pool, as well as a fully kitted out gym upstairs. The staff are friendly, as are the other members. One of the unique features of this place is that when you join, you get a small locker where you can keep your swimwear. Tag your swimwear with your locker number and you can actually chuck it into the laundry baskets with the towels and the staff will wash and dry it for you overnight, and leave it back in your locker. This means that I can go straight from work, for example, to the club without having to go home to pick up my swimwear. Very convenient!β
βSuper friendly club Pro and a great little shop with some really well priced merchandise.β
