“Incredible locally owned business! I got the large mixed kebab, my partner got the beef korma, my mum got the prawn chasni and my stepdad got the lamb ceylon. Incredible! The food is always out of this world, the service is always friendly and attentative and its so reasonable for how much you get. A MUST visit for sure.”

“We had a takeaway last Sunday and we really enjoyed it. The Prawn Mayan was delicious and plenty succulent prawns too. Some other restaurants are very stingy on the prawns. Hubby and kids loved it too and will definitely be ordering from here again in the future.”

The sweet and sour chicken was made up of really good pieces of chicken and lovely sauce. Chicken fried rice really good quality too. Great portions and great value. (Update: had 3 times now and each time, main meals very consistent with original review and really good, but maybe won't order spring rolls again)”

“Went to Domino's in Bathgate on a Saturday night. A really busy store (it was when I got there). Great food. One strange thing though - happy to take cash but will not give you change! I was pissed I had to use my card for my food to cost £26 instead of the £30 they would happily accept. I am sure either morally or legally this is very wrong. I should not be force to use a payment card when I have cash.”

Despite a last-minute cancellation from another restaurant, Hanan and Inam went above and beyond to accommodate our group of 18 people with warmth, professionalism, and genuine hospitality. Their service was nothing short of outstanding—attentive, courteous, and truly welcoming from start to finish. The food was phenomenal. We ordered the Tawa for 4, and every element was bursting with flavor. The lamb chops were perfectly cooked, and the pakoras were crisp, fresh, and delicious. Portion sizes were generous, and the quality was evident in every bite. The mocktails were equally impressive—refreshing, vibrant, and beautifully presented. I tried four different ones, and each one was fantastic. A special thank you to Chef Shayru for delivering such exceptional dishes. This was honestly one of the best dining experiences we’ve had, and we can’t wait to return. I’ll be recommending Shish Mahal to all my friends and family. This place truly deserves to expand into Edinburgh—their standard of food and service is outstanding.”

“I've lived nearby the entire time this place has existed here, yet never once stepped inside for a meal until today. ...I regret my past self's ignorance. Myself and my parents, 3 very different meals but they nailed them. My burger tasted great, wasn't oversized and they knew how to make a good chip. The curry we asked for a little heat to it (as it was advertised as being mild) and it came out at the right spiciness, and the kare kare was quite light but great tasting as well. Desserts were pretty large, obviously homemade and delicious. Sit in prices were pretty cheap, the takeaway option looked like it would be even cheaper! I'd certainly label this somewhat of a hidden gem. I attach the photo of my dessert, the combination of my two favourite desserts, cookie dough and cheesecake. A thing of beauty, if not exceptionally sweet!”

The pizza was fresh, hot, and tasted exactly how it should. Properly cooked, good ingredients, and no issues at all. Service was quick, the staff were polite, and the order was ready on time. After feeling unwell from the previous place, finally having something safe, clean, and actually enjoyable made a huge difference. Definitely recommend Pizza Express — reliable, consistent, and worth it every time.”
