    North Star Sanctum

“Just had the most wonderful relaxing weekend away at North Star Sanctum. We stayed in 'The Lotus' which was absolutely lovely. The site itself was quiet and peaceful and there was a nice little dog walk, we even saw bunnies!. The hot tub was fantastic, we spent every evening stargazing ✨ Simon was really friendly and helpful, you can tell a lot of thought has been put into the lodges. The robes and slippers were a great touch and the local cake was delicious!. The lodge was lovely and cozy with the hive heating system. There is a large smart TV and WiFi in the lodge also. The only downsides for us was that the bed was a little bit firm for our liking but that is personal preference, and that the bathroom felt a little cramped (the door would maybe be better opening in the bedroom instead of the bathroom?). Overall we loved our weekend away and wouldn't think twice about booking to visit again!”

    Green Meadows Park

“Our stay at Green Meadows Park was absolutely perfect! My wife and our dog just spent the most amazing, relaxing few days at one of their Spa Pet Lodges. From the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed and at home. Stephen, the owner, greeted us with such warmth and made sure we had everything we needed, while also giving us the privacy to unwind. The accommodation was impeccable—spotlessly clean and thoughtfully prepared with a lovely welcome hamper, including sleep masks for the roof light, which was a great touch. The hot tub was a real highlight, and Stephen ensured it was always in top condition, popping by each morning for maintenance. The grounds are beautifully kept, with charming little rabbits hopping around, and plenty of space for walking our dog (on a lead, of course). It was a true haven for us and our four-legged friend. I cannot recommend Green Meadows Park highly enough. It was easily one of the best British holidays we’ve ever had. If you stay here, don’t miss out on visiting The Spotted Duck just across the road—their cooked breakfast was exceptional, and the service was wonderful. Thank you, Stephen, for making our stay unforgettable! We’ll definitely be back.”

    Elm Tree Farm B&B

    ★★★★★ 4.8
    Closed

“From the moment we arrived at Elm Tree Farm B&B, we were struck by the beauty and tranquillity of the location – set well away from the main road and surrounded by rolling countryside, it was the perfect place to unwind. Our room was lovely, spotlessly clean and tastefully decorated, with a bed so comfortable it felt like pure luxury. I had the best night’s sleep I’ve had in a very long time – something I wasn’t expecting but will definitely remember! Breakfast was equally impressive: a proper, hearty full English cooked to perfection, with fresh fruit juice, cereals for those who prefer a lighter option, and excellent coffee. My wife said her pot of tea was just right – hot, strong, and flavourful, exactly how it should be. Gina, the owner, is an absolute delight – friendly, thoughtful, and clearly passionate about running a great B&B. She’s created something really special here. One of the highlights was discovering the private guest garden – a quiet, secluded spot that felt like stepping into Narnia. Peaceful, full of charm, and the perfect place to sit and soak it all in. All in all, Elm Tree Farm is a real gem. We felt truly cared for, relaxed, and recharged. We will definitely be back.”

“We stayed a night after picking up a camper van. (Hence no stars for rooms - it's not applicable). The facilities are great - spacious shower cubicles and nice hot water! The site has good space between pitches and they have a black chicken who guards reception and 3 turkeys who are free ranging across the site. There are moorhens around the pond and the site is in a country location. The warden was really helpful. He lent us a kettle as we had no gas and was great, with advice and offers of help. A BIG thank you to him. Also we chatted with another staff member who was really nice and very friendly. Take aways can be delivered (we needed one as we had no gas!) - we had Indian but I believe there was also Chinese and Kebabs available. We enjoyed our meal & ate in the bar where there is TV. Shame we were only there for the night”

“We have just come back after a lovely stay at this beautiful lodge site, the lodge was very spacious and clean and it had all the things that we needed. The welcome pack and bottles of Prosecco and also the dog treats were a lovely gesture. The hot tub was fantastic which we used plenty of times, the location was brilliant with a lot of ideal walks near to it especially for my partners puppy who needed it. My mum and dad are stopping here at the end of September and we have definitely recommended it to them as we had the best time.”

“A real gem of a campsite situated 40 minute bus ride from Hull city Centre and 30 minutes into Beverly Centre. Beautifully kept site with a lovely wild foul pond in the centre pizzas and pies served weekends during peak time but was closed while we were there. Very secure in and out of the site. The owners were really friendly and accommodating helping us with Taxi information and bus services. The toilets were quite dated and although the water was nice and warm when you turned it off, it was freezing cold standing in the shower units as they were not heated however they are just in the process of building a new shower block which will definitely add Great facilities to the site which is already exceptional. Five minute walk to great garden centre with lovely café for breakfast and a 15 minute walk to the local ship Inn pub we didn’t use those facilities but easy to get there.”

“Lovely campsite. Now adults only. You park the car in the car park and can use wheelbarrows to take your equipment to the field. One toilet and one hot, powerful shower. Small site so no queues. Small wooded area to relax in with seating areas. Firepits on the field. Some noise from main road but not a problem. Run by Vanessa and John a lovely couple who take pride in their campsite, smallholding and land.”

“We recently bought our first caravan in quite a few years. We were looking for a park that was not too commercialised but had all the essential facilities that we needed. From a simple enquiry we were helped and advised by Andrew to find the right caravan within our budget. The process of choosing our caravan and taking ownership was very smooth and stress free. We were kept informed throughout. They put brand new beds in the small bedroom for us as there was just one bed in there. There is a very good bar and entertainment club with very good acts on. There is a shop on site that is well stocked and also an amazing coffee shop that serves home made food. The park is very well maintained and you can tell people take pride in the their holiday home.”

“Stayed here for just the 1 night in the motorhome but we’ll definitely be looking to return in the not so distant future. Very well kept site, the lady who ran it seemed pleasant and helpful enough on arrival. The regulars seemed friendly enough. The weather was glorious so they all congregated on a couple of benches in the middle and looked to be having a good laugh over a few drinks and Just before 11pm (quiet hours) all went off to their caravans. Didn’t bother us at all as we was outside until gone 10.30pm enjoying the weather. Facilities all good enough and what you’d expect on a site. Great location, less than 5 mins drive to the centre of Hornsea or the sea front. We will 100% be looking to return on several occasions as Hornsea is one of our favourite spots along the East Yorkshire coast”

“After reading previous reviews and worrying about previous comments, I can honestly say our experience was far more relaxed and positive. Lovely location in a very quiet village. The weekend was fairly quiet even with nearly all the pitches taken. It wasn't rowdy, which if I'm honest I was expecting this from the comments, everyone seemed respectful on our stay. The pub food was amazing value for money and tasted really nice. If your looking for activities you will have to travel away from the campsite to the local towns, we travelled to Goole to the shops and free museum, good for young children. I think if your looking for a site just to relax, this would be the one and if you like to have a drink in the evening and a game of pool they have a small cosey pub on site. Showers are very nice and clean and to be honest the £1 per 2 minutes on the machine actually helps keep the queues down at the showers, not once did I need to queue and I showered every morning. It was a bank holiday weekend at the end of April, The Manager was present a lot over the weekend doing general maintenance on the site which definitely shows well as it seemed well kept when we stayed. I honestly wouldn't let the reviews put you off. It's worth at least experiencing once! If you have young children it may be best to bring more activities along with you as my daughter got a little bored but only because other campers went out for the day and she was alone, there is a small children's park for the kids though. I'd say that's the only thing missing is some daytime entertainment at the pub to bring everyone together. However the manager has his reasons for not opening during the day which is understandable. It may be a nice idea to open a small grocery shop on site? Not sure if this has been thought about but would be handy to be able to buy a few bits on site instead of driving out but again probably the cost that would be involved may put the owner off doing so. Again totally understandable. My mum came to stay in the little rooms with ensuites that have availability, which was nice and cosy. So if you have friends who won't camp, it's ideal for them to book a room instead! All in all it was a pleasant stay. We would definitely come back in the near future if we want a relaxing break. Also the pitch we camped on was very well sheltered and the manager said he usually puts tents in this area. On other sites we usually feel the wind on the tent slot but this site we barely felt the tent moving in higher winds because it's very well sheltered! Big bonus and good for first time campers who don't want to be put off.”

Never known my Granddaughter to finish a burger and fries and not leave any, usually just ends up playing with the food. Book a table, it's pretty busy across lunchtime and although you can take a picnic, the food in the cafe is fab.”

“This is a fabulous, spacious site, particularly ideal for dog owners given that there is a huge field adjacent and also a disused railway path for walks. The site has both grass only and electric hook up. The field is perfectly flat. The amenities are rustic, but perfectly clean. Shower has an honesty box and was lovely and hot with no time limiter. The site promotes recycling and has great facilities for the same. There are no play facilities for children, but there is plenty of open space for games and nature walks.”
