“Visited for tea and was really nice food good and fairly quick, it was busy but the bar staff even though run off their feet were very polite and pleasant and nothing was too much trouble for them, certainly will re- visit”

“Had the special of Jerk Chicken Tacos tonight and wow it was amazing. The right hit of zing and spice, the food never disappoints but this was something else! Great atmosphere and service, staff are second to none, if you haven’t been to Tribal then it’s really worth paying a visit.”

“Great pizzas, kebabs and chicken. Not oily or greasy at all & nice and hot. Plenty of toppings on the pizza and their special kebab is enough for two days. The ususl meal deals are on offer and the staff are very nice too. Have used these in preference to others many times now. It's consistently good every time. Good prices too. Sorry no pics, scoffed it all.”

“First time and it won't be my last. Great steak meal with green peppercorn sauce and roasted tomatoes. Classic 1970s chocolate mousse to finish. Meal made all the better with 25% early bird discount before 7pm”

“I have been into Humber Dock today (06/06/2025), I came in for a bite to eat and a pint. I decided I’ll play it safe and order a cheese burger and chips. Words simply cannot comprehend the fantastic quality of the burger; the freshness, the taste, the presentation and the time and care that went into assembling this simply stupendous quality meal…. I even enjoyed the onions, and I’m the polar opposite of an advocate for onions. I would highly recommend any burger lovers to come to this venue, and try it out. I paid £14.95, I would have paid £30. Satisfied is an understatement. Bar staff were also lovely and welcoming. The music was at a perfect level. Brilliant venue, surprised it wasn’t busier than what it was. Will be returning in the near future and bringing a crowd with me so they can understand how good the food was. Hats off to the chef.”

“We came for a Birthday celabration staff where so acomadating they allocated for our baby and highchair staff where smiling and interacting with the children especially Katia, and our table server Kasia arranged musical instrument and sang and offered to cut our cake for us she also took our drinks orders the cocktails where increadable and flavorsome. Brillant atmosphere where you can help your self to well presented and tasty food to accompany your meats. From salad to freash bread, meatballs and pasta it was lovley . Will definatly come back.”

“I had a phenomenal experience here last week! Popped in for brunch on a Sunday and the service was truly amazing. A lovely guy called Alfie looked after us. I was enquiring about any vegan options and Alfie was so patient and kind, he went out of his way to arrange for the vegetarian breakfast to be made vegan. I asked if it was possible to turn the music down upstairs as I have hearing loss and expected it to be a bit of a hassle, Alfie was an angel and acted like it was no big deal at all and very quickly resolved this. Alfie was just the most friendly, sweet and helpful guy, nothing was too much trouble for him to help us with, and he came across as a really genuine person that takes the time to treat all customers like they're friends, he created such a welcoming vibe and I felt really at ease even though I'm a bit awkward with my hearing! It was the best service I've had in a long time, and if Alfie isn't a manager he definitely deserves a raise, he made us want to come back again and again. The only slight suggestion I have, separate to anything practical, is for the menu to outline vegan options. I used to come in many years ago and they always had vegan options noted on the menu. There wasn't anything stated as vegan on the menu and the veggie breakfast had to be modified rather than being able to order a vegan breakfast. If I hadn't been planning to meet my friend there I might have been put off and assumed vegans weren't really provided for. It would go a long way just having a few options on the menu or noting what is vegan. Simple stuff like a vegan fry up (hash browns, beans, tomatoes, toast with vegan margarine, mushrooms, vegan sausages), avocado on toast, beans on toast. Regardless, we'd definitely be back as it was the best service we've had in Hull! Thanks Alfie. You're a legend.”

“Three of us booked for the Christmas dinner and Bingo on 18 th Dec . It was due to start 6,30 but we arrived around an hour earlier to have a drink . It was not a problem at all , we got seated by Rosie straight away . Heads up to everyone who worked very hard for us all to have a fabulous time . I love gammon , so Ben carved up the gammon for me and there was a choice of sprouts parsnips, roast potatoes ,carrots ,peas and mash .Oh and don't forget the delicious Yorkies all smothered in lovely gravy . I must say everyone worked very hard including Ellie, Paige ,Alex , Rosie ,Ben ... So sorry if I missed anyone out ! Bingo was great fun in between the main course and the lovely Xmas Pud for dessert. Would recommend to anyone as the best carvery and staff in Hull. “We had a warm greeting from are hostess Lesley who showed us to our table and then took are drinks order and left us to decide what to eat. It was a hard choice with such a wide range of food on the menu. My wife has dietary needs and Lesley was brilliant explaining how they could accommodate her. I decided on the black and blue burgers with home made chips, onion rings and home made relish. My wife ordered a sirloin steak with new potatoes and a special salad. When the food arrived it was well presented and both meals were very tasty.We were both surprised and how big the portion size was. The table next to us had the home made pie. I have never seen such a big pie and it looked amazing and our next visit i will definitely be having that. The Bay Horse is amazing inn with warm friendly staff and great food.”

“We live on the south coast, and come up to Hull 3 times a year for the last 8 or 9 years, and EVERY trip without fail we come here first on arrival, and you have to ask yourself why. The simple answer is because its just that good, compared to my local chip shops who charge double for portions half the size, papas has NEVER disappointed, and this evening whilst there and server by the wonderful Annie, we came to the realistation, that our trips to Hull may end this year...... oh no! You know what, i would make the 270 mile each way trip just so i can still eat here, yes its that good. The chips are golden brown and crunchy, the fish is lovely, battered enough to be crunchy, tasty but none of it is greasy, its all light, golden and delicious. The staff are friendly - all of them, but Annie is great. Plenty of parking, plenty of customers - another good sign.”
