βMiddleton Hall is an iconic and historic building at the University of Hull, located in the heart of the campus. The hall, which serves as a venue for events, conferences, and performances, has a rich history that dates back to the early 18th century. Originally, the hall was built in 1735 as a private residence for Thomas Atkinson, a wealthy local merchant. It was designed in the Georgian style and featured elegant architecture and exquisite detailing. The house remained in the Atkinson family until the mid-19th century when it was sold to another local merchant named Henry Briggs. Over the years, the hall changed hands several times and underwent numerous renovations and expansions. In the 1930s, it was acquired by Hull University College, which had recently been established and was looking for a suitable venue for its activities. The hall was extensively refurbished and transformed into a stunning venue that could accommodate large groups of people. Throughout the years, Middleton Hall has served as an essential hub for the university's cultural and social activities. It has hosted countless events, ranging from concerts and theater performances to academic conferences and public lectures. The hall has also been used as a venue for exams, graduations, and other official ceremonies. In recent years, the hall has undergone a significant renovation to ensure that it remains a vibrant and relevant venue for future generations. The renovation included the installation of state-of-the-art technology, new seating, and improved lighting and acoustics. The hall's beautiful Georgian features were preserved and enhanced, ensuring that it remains a unique and historic venue. In conclusion, Middleton Hall is an integral part of the University of Hull's history and identity. Its elegant architecture and rich heritage make it a unique and special venue that continues to play an essential role in the cultural and social life of the university and the wider communityβ
βAttended the Majorette competition with my daughter. Large spacious, lift access /disabled compliance. Security was great with on point guys asking for proof of entry. Bar service was great in the cafe and the bars round the ballroom area. Food in the main cafe was good , with nice cakes selection and plenty of food options, plus a great view. Food offerings in the inner cafe just off the ballroom floor were very poor and overpriced.β

βI began dancing at Rhythm and Dreams Dancing Centre 12 years ago after a long break from dancing, and my two children followed shortly afterwards. All of the classes are fantastic and my children have developed preferences for their own style, although they are still very exited about all of the dancing they do. We all enjoy the classes, shows and competitions we now have the opportunity to take part in and I have watched my children grow in confidence and ability. Thank you to everyone at Rhythm and Dreams for being the people you are, your kindness goes beyond professionalism. Over the years Rhythm and Dreams has become like a second family. It is one of my favourite places to be. There is a great atmosphere and everyone is so supportive and friendly. Thanks again.β

βFrom the booking process to the end of the event, Starbrite was absolutely fantastic. We wanted something different to the usual soft play for our 5 year olds party and initially was worried that the younger kids might find it difficult but nevermind that! The dance teachers did such an incredible job working around the different abilities among the children. The work, time and thought that went into making the event suitable for the age range, as well customizing our chosen theme left me speechless. We did a bit of decorating before but with the lights and final touches added by Miss Emma and Mr. P, everything was stunning and felt magical. We hired the cafe for the parents to wait while the kids enjoyed their time. A few parents commented on how lovely it was to sit and enjoy a very lovely and affordably priced hot drink, some even had a bit of ice cream which was well received. Thank you so much for everything. Definitely a party to remember.β
βAbsolutely amazing place to learn to dance to high standards. My daughter started here in late March and has already made some long life friends and memories and been in her 1st show since being 3 (now 11) her dancing skills and confidence in last 2 months have seriously come on in leaps. They are great with children (in which I found important) and this place is a big dance family within the children. Their dances and shows are seriously different to any other dance place in Hull. I highly recommend this placeβ

βI found Opera beds when looking to replace my old adjustable bed and I'm really glad I did. Opera were fantastic: really helpful team and the options were much wider than I'd seen from other companies. The beds also look reasonably modern and stylish, which my old bed hadn't. I was surprised by how lightweight the frame was too as with my old bed I could barely move it when I needed to clean or hoover. I opted for the installation service and my new ned arrived within the week, with the two guys who brought it building it in record speed. Josh was lovely and talked me through how the whole bed worked and what to do if I had any issues. I would definitely recommend.β
