“Such a beautiful and attractive place to relax and spend time. There are nice walking areas, interesting architecture, and even the option for a boat trip with the taxi boats. It was really quiet at this time of the year,not crowded at all,I bet during summer there are a lot of people. I bet during summer there's a good variety of restaurants and bars, so everyone can find something to suit their taste and budget,but now the options were quite limited. The dock offers options for spending time outdoors, and exploring the Royal Armouries museum, which is huge and definitely worth a visit. Unfortunately we couldn't visit because it was closed (Monday only). I saw that there are limited options for shopping,comparing with the city centre. Overall,we really liked it and definitely will come back during summer.”

“This is an unspoken secret of Huddersfield. Probably the biggest selection of beer you have ever seen, from all over the place. The place has an eclectic feel, with a laid back attitude, with a clientele ranging from OAP's to students. Well worth a visit for real ale fan's.”

“First visit for drinks then returned for dinner. The superb range of dishes on the menu made it hard to choose. My partner went for duck breast, while I had chicken in a mushroom and brandy sauce. Both meals were delicious. Drinks were well priced and the staff were first class. Friendly, helpful and efficient. The whole ambience of the place is chilled and relaxed with good music and a lovely atmosphere. Highly recommended.”

“The grove has recently had an amazing refurbishment and looks like a brand new pub. They have changed it for the better. They now have a great food menu. We have eaten here a couple times now, first time round we had pizzas and they were so fresh and tasty, one of the best pizzas we've had. We also had their festive menu which was also wonderful. We had turkey dinner and chocolate brownies for pudding. Such good food and amazing value for the high quality! Can confirm takeaway meals are just as good!”

“This gem of an inn used to be my local then sadly had to close, iI is now opem again and I must say that the old atmosphere is still there, a pub that has live music Fridays, keep up the excellent work. Now under new management.”

“This is an exceptionally good pub. I came across it whilst picking up some homebrew kits from the shop next door, and was very glad. £2 sandwiches on the bar and had a fantastic pint for £3.50. The beer was kept incredibly well. If I am ever in this neck of the woods again I would be sure to come back. Landlord and lady very friendly too.”

“This was a fantastic pub to go drinking at, with a vintage design that also adds decorations! The counter is well-presented, staff were friendly in allowing me and my family to try a beer before purchase. I got a pint from the tap and drank it outside, sitting in a relaxing environment during the heat!”

“Visited on a Saturday afternoon and had booked the Bottomless Brunch. Can't praise it enough. Cocktails were excellent and swiftly replenished by Megan. Grazing platter was delicious and they had created a separate smaller portion for my wife who is vegetarian. Highly recommended.”

“Visited for the first time and was really impressed. The staff were really friendly and were working their socks off ensuring people were served quickly at their tables. There were plenty of tables outside and lots under the impressive teepee where we retreated when the weather turned. You can see how hard the Rose has worked to be open again for customers. “Been going here for comedy nights for a few years now and love it. Always a good evening. They seem to have messed around with times of shows a bit and they start quite early now. Maybe some food would be good to help the early evening. Though regardless as far as comedy is concerned this is a great place”

“This is the best place to go for an early dinner with your toddler. The food literally comes out within minutes of walking through the door, which means that our hungry little boy doesn’t have a melt down after swimming. The food is delicious as well x”
