“Great chippy, best in northwich.”
“A very pleasant dining experience. Excellent wines and a very good selection of tapas/small plates. Overall price was fair too.”
“Went for lunch on recommendation of a friend and wasnot disappointed. Had the 3 course fixed price lunch. Lovely fresh cooked food, generous portion, great value for money. Friendly staff, though did seem to be a little short handed. Lovely environment, nice and clean, plenty of parking. Will definitely be back.”
“2ND JULY 2025 ‘Wandering Wednesday’ was back on track today after a number of hurdles over the past few weeks, Neil’s birthday, our Anniversary, Neil covering a shift and me being poorly last week. So today Hubby Neil and I took a good Wander out on the beaten track towards Delamere, to a beautiful pub called ‘The Fishpool Inn’, just off a main road and sat in a lovely pub garden area….. the pub inside was spotless and tastefully decorated. All staff were very polite and were smartly dressed in black attire. The layout of the pub where we were sat was horse based, which was right up my street, some of the tables were set out on old cast iron horse stalls, very impressive…. Bridles on the walls, along with past Polo players and polo mallets…. We both went straight to entrée…. A Lady who worked at IKEA many moons ago recommended us to go there…. Janet Hughes….. it didn’t disappoint…. Thank you Jan…. So on that note we both went for the fish and chips…. With proper soaked overnight mushy peas and homemade tartare sauce, plus a round of bread and butter each. All of the food was beautiful and piping hot, you could taste the salt of the sea in the haddock….. portion sizes were reasonable and not too over facing. Would we go back….. Definitely 100% Plus it’s a lovely drive out in our Cheshire countryside on a beautiful day as today, seeing some of the old houses and farm houses along the way, they were stunning! All in all…. A Grand Day out xxx❤️”
“We called in for a Sunday roast a few weeks ago, the food was delicious. Staff are very good, and the owners are lovely. Since then we have been in the evening for another delicious meal, the pudding are very nice to. Overall this place is a hidden gem. Well worth a visit! Lovely outlook over the marina, they are dog friendly to in the bar area.”
“Very surprised!!! My friend took me here but the wine bar sign and no mention of Thai restaurant and the decor had me worrying.. BUT no need the food was fabulous especially the chicken toast and I will be definitely going back..”
“What a fantastic place to eat! Staff very friendly, attentive and helpful. Good was delicious, good portions and reasonably priced. Truly dog friendly, with a cosy atmosphere and warming log fire. Highly recommend!”
“Along side the Market café probably the longest established café. Good simple fry ups and great value. Some staff don't smile much.”
“Always enjoy our meals in here. They offer a gluten free menu, prices are decent, broad selection of drinks. Good friendly honest service. Have come a few times now both at lunch and tea. Kids loved playing footy outside in summer. Can be busy but it's a great pub so it will be. Prefer sitting outside with dog as its less noisy, hot and crowded for them. Highly recommended.”
“We love the Vale Royal Abbey Arms because it’s a large, well-managed pub in a good location, with plenty of parking. Our dog loves it because there’s usually plenty of space in the dog-friendly dining areas and there’s even a dog menu and doggy treat station. The food is very good - I’m a particular fan of the steak and ale pie, and you can have a miniature dessert and coffee if you’ve not got room for a large portion. The service is excellent. We have been looked after several times by Ben - who is particularly thoughtful and efficient.”
“Best breakfast in a box I've had, the breakfast wrap is highly recommended. The only downside is the coffee, they only do instant at 20000 degrees.”
“Popped in with the dogs for a Sunday roast and glad I did , food was delicious service was excellent very attentive to both me the guest and the dogs definitely be back ! Thanks you”
“West had a great afternoon here. Our servers, Connor and Corey were really helpful and polite. The food was excellent! Plenty of onsite parking, large garden, dog friendly - we will definitely return soon”
“Visited for the first time on a Wednesday, which is burger night, so obviously had to have a couple burgers! Very tasty on the whole, although the ratios of sauce to burger could definitely be worked on - one had a bit too much and the other needed lots more! Definitely recommend the PBJ time burger if you fancy something a bit different (and don't have a nut allergy). Shared some churros for dessert and these were very good. The atmosphere was also lovely, nice touch having board games and cards available. The real highlight was the friendly staff though, really made us feel welcome and made the night special.”
“A most enjoyable afternoon here after exploring the Whitegate trail! Top quality fish & chips and very interesting choice of draught beer!!! Had Camden Town Brewery Stout for 1st time and was better than Guinness! Tasted similar to Murphys stout! Also had Henry Westons Vintage Cider! Friendly staff and reasonable price! Great choice of other dishes on menu! Will be making a return visit for sure!!!”
“Stopped for a breakfast on our way home. Food outstanding, service amazing and lovely environment. Michelle was fabulous - very welcoming, friendly and always had a smile. Thank you for your 1st class service.”
“Completely forgot to take a picture of the food but the BBQ pulled pork pizza was out of this world, cooked fresh next to us abit on the expensive end but overall I would agree it's worth every penny”
“Great breakfast nicely cooked 3 full English breakfast and one fried egg on toast. It would be nice if the staff smiled a bit. It sometimes feels as though it's a " think yourself lucky you are being served," approach to customer service. It was busy at the time to be fair, and the staff looked pushed. But I've had the same when it isn't busy. Will persevere as the food is tasty and good value.”
“Great food, great service, amazing staff and excellent prices”
“What a lovely pub. Staff were very nice and friendly. Food was fantastic. A good selection of draft beers and alcohol free beers too. A real shame it's so far away for us to go to regularly.”
“Had a lovely time this evening at Chime celebrating our daughter’s 30th birthday. The food was delicious. The staff were extremely friendly and they had so much time for our granddaughters. Will definitely be returning. Thank you all so much xx”
“The Salt Barge is a wonderful pub; Jayne and Claire were really welcoming and couldn’t do enough for our party. It has a glorious, chilled out atmosphere, and the music played was not overwhelming. There was a great selection of drinks available, including several alcohol free options!”
“Last minute decision for a meal for 7 - couldn't get a table at our preferred place so took a chance here. Reviews were not great but we thought we'd give it a try. Well it was good, even better than good! Quite a range of starters and mains with just a bit of a delay getting the mains to the table. Everyone was complimentary about the taste of the courses with tasty rice and nann breads. Had Kingfisher”
“Been coming here for years even when I moved away I would drive the 10 miles back to pick up a Chinese. Portions are huge and the kids get 2 days out of the food. We get food once a week. Would highly recommend.”
“Loved it! 3 walking routes available, we started on the shortest, got mixed up and then ended up on the longest. One is 1.9 miles another 2.1 and the finally 3.9miles as a loop. It is colour coded to prevent this happening but we were a bit thick and went from green to red but it made a lovely walk as we weren't in a rush. Very pleasant walking trails around the lake with so many tiny frogs bouncing around on the paths so do watch your footing walking about. They are about the size of a 5p so some good eye sight is needed or else you will be taking dead frogs home in the treds of your boots. Nice green areas, great for a casual walk or biking, and as you can see from the pictures, good views and large walking areas. Cafe on site, reasonable pricing and tastes amazing. Free toilets and certainly wheelchair friendly. Great for dog walkers as the area is so large you really can spend the day here and venture as far as you wish around the area. Parking was good, there's 3 or 4 car parks available so if you are meeting with some one make sure you know where before hand. ** like we didn't make that mistake....yes another one** One of the parking sites we visited was huge and not bad pricing to be honest and to help I have attached attached picture for thee to see. Happy venturing!!”
“Visited it for the first time because of a buy one get one free coupon. Food were nice at great value and staff were friendly. Would definitely be going again and recommend to anyone. Love the full rack of ribs .”
“Food hot and delicious. Better than any pasta we tried in Naples a few months ago.”
“Great food and the service was excellent. The staff were lovely and chatty whilst we waited and the vegetarian pizza was the nicest I've had. Fantastic selection of desserts. Would definitely return.”
