“I went in for quality fresh fruit to keep me going for a full day's work. I might pay a few pence more at Waitrose but nothing was bruised, or anything but perfectly fresh, so I consumed the lot and it was as "Value for money" as anywhere else (Aldi, you know who you are).”
“we hired the outback pizza company for a birthday party with around 110 guests, they were very professional and the pizza's were amazing, all the guests commented on the quality of the food. They also catered for all our guests dietary requirements including gluten free and vegan. I would have no hesitation in booking them again and recommending to friends and family.”
“What a great find! Good selection of craft ales, lager and a good selection of Lilley's cider! You can't go wrong! Friendly service, dog friendly, seating outside! Great playlist too, both inside and out!”
“A dying breed, a proper traditional chippy selling excellent fish and chips at very reasonable prices. Alex at Ash House Farm BnB put us on to it. I had fish, chips and curry sauce and it was very good. (fish cooked to order)”
“A very pleasant dining experience. Excellent wines and a very good selection of tapas/small plates. Overall price was fair too.”

“We went to the cafe for a family lunch. (Pre-booked afternoon tea). It was a very idyllic setting with a stately charm. The food was delicious and the service excellent.”
“Went for lunch on recommendation of a friend and wasnot disappointed. Had the 3 course fixed price lunch. Lovely fresh cooked food, generous portion, great value for money. Friendly staff, though did seem to be a little short handed. Lovely environment, nice and clean, plenty of parking. Will definitely be back.”
“2ND JULY 2025 ‘Wandering Wednesday’ was back on track today after a number of hurdles over the past few weeks, Neil’s birthday, our Anniversary, Neil covering a shift and me being poorly last week. So today Hubby Neil and I took a good Wander out on the beaten track towards Delamere, to a beautiful pub called ‘The Fishpool Inn’, just off a main road and sat in a lovely pub garden area….. the pub inside was spotless and tastefully decorated. All staff were very polite and were smartly dressed in black attire. The layout of the pub where we were sat was horse based, which was right up my street, some of the tables were set out on old cast iron horse stalls, very impressive…. Bridles on the walls, along with past Polo players and polo mallets…. We both went straight to entrée…. A Lady who worked at IKEA many moons ago recommended us to go there…. Janet Hughes….. it didn’t disappoint…. Thank you Jan…. So on that note we both went for the fish and chips…. With proper soaked overnight mushy peas and homemade tartare sauce, plus a round of bread and butter each. All of the food was beautiful and piping hot, you could taste the salt of the sea in the haddock….. portion sizes were reasonable and not too over facing. Would we go back….. Definitely 100% Plus it’s a lovely drive out in our Cheshire countryside on a beautiful day as today, seeing some of the old houses and farm houses along the way, they were stunning! All in all…. A Grand Day out xxx❤️”
“If your thinking this is a Food bank ...your wrong. Cheshire hub are reducing food waste from supermarkets ending up in landfill. If you've never been well get yourselves over there. There are a group of really welcoming staff and volunteers always willing to help. Parking... now please don't park on the main road. It causes issues for everyone from traders, residents and people driving by. It you take the turning next yo the hub you will find plenty of parking available. Someone is about to direct you if need be. Now first timers will need to register and you get a membership number. Then on you visit to the hub you pay £4 and big along 2 sturdy shopping bags. The ladies and gents will guide you around and help fill your bags to the brim. Then why not stop for a coffee and a chat. I must admit I miss the Monday sessions but I try to visit when I can.”
“We called in for a Sunday roast a few weeks ago, the food was delicious. Staff are very good, and the owners are lovely. Since then we have been in the evening for another delicious meal, the pudding are very nice to. Overall this place is a hidden gem. Well worth a visit! Lovely outlook over the marina, they are dog friendly to in the bar area.”
“We stopped by for an impromptu lunch. We visited at 12:30 and luckily there was a table. Although it was incredibly busy, service was prompt, as was the food. We each ordered the bacon, brie and cranberry ciabatta and shared a portion of cheesy chips. The food was delicious; the bacon was nice and thick with plenty of flavour and the chips were obviously home made and actually tasted like potatoes. We did have to wait for the chips but the issue was resolved quickly. Highly recommended place, excellent value, delicious food and friendly staff”
“Just had a drink with family. Great atmosphere. Friendly place. Great place to catch up”
“Our first time eating in after only ordering in. Great service and always good food. As a suggestion we’d love to hear Portuguese music and reminisce about our holidays!”
“Popped in with family after a visit to Marbury Park. Everyone was very happy with their food and the service was excellent. Lovely lady who served us with a smile and didn’t mind that our young lad wasn’t eating. Good banter from other customers too, clearly a well liked little local place. It’s small and basic but hits the spot… and proper mushy peas!”
“Very surprised!!! My friend took me here but the wine bar sign and no mention of Thai restaurant and the decor had me worrying.. BUT no need the food was fabulous especially the chicken toast and I will be definitely going back..”
“Amazing food ran by lovely people. Never had a bad meal, everything is so fresh and tasty. Would recommend to any one. Veggie or not.”
“Chilled vibes, good prices and loving the style!”
“What a fantastic place to eat! Staff very friendly, attentive and helpful. Good was delicious, good portions and reasonably priced. Truly dog friendly, with a cosy atmosphere and warming log fire. Highly recommend!”
“My favourite place to eat. Staff are really lovely and friendly and the food is always delicious. Its a bit more expensive than most pubs but you will see why if you go. Totally worth it.”
“Along side the Market café probably the longest established café. Good simple fry ups and great value. Some staff don't smile much.”
“Excellent in every way - apart from perhaps the chap in the café shouting at a Dad and his young child for riding their bikes in the park. OK, rules are rules, but chill a bit, man.”
“We Celebrated my Retirement last night. We were a party of 15 and we had the most wonderful night. We all enjoyed different food choices. The staff were Excellent, attentive and very helpful. Each of our Party have said that they would recommend a visit and return with their Family and friends. Thank you to all the staff. You were Amazing Jan Bentley”
“It is probably the best eating pub that I know. Easily accesable. Not hard to park. Entrance for all people. Service very good, but most days, reserve a table, especially Sunday. Great atmosphere inside and outside. Food is brilliant and there is plenty. Prices are very competitive.”
“Always enjoy our meals in here. They offer a gluten free menu, prices are decent, broad selection of drinks. Good friendly honest service. Have come a few times now both at lunch and tea. Kids loved playing footy outside in summer. Can be busy but it's a great pub so it will be. Prefer sitting outside with dog as its less noisy, hot and crowded for them. Highly recommended.”
“What a fantastic lunch we had. Mains and a pudding AND coffee today! I had the seabass with roasted veg. Perfection. And we had the apple and rhubarb crumble and custard. Just wow! The whole meal was superb as was the service.”
“We love the Vale Royal Abbey Arms because it’s a large, well-managed pub in a good location, with plenty of parking. Our dog loves it because there’s usually plenty of space in the dog-friendly dining areas and there’s even a dog menu and doggy treat station. The food is very good - I’m a particular fan of the steak and ale pie, and you can have a miniature dessert and coffee if you’ve not got room for a large portion. The service is excellent. We have been looked after several times by Ben - who is particularly thoughtful and efficient.”
“We went when they had a band playing in the beer garden a couple of weeks ago. We had a great time and the atmosphere was brilliant. The staff were friendly and the drinks were very good and well priced. We'll be returning there, I wish I'd known about the beer garden last summer when I moved to Northwich.”
