“Amazing food, really lovely and clean restaurant too. Customer service was on point! The gentleman that served us, really did take care of us, from advising us on what sauces he would recommend for different dishes to our preference in the music that was playing at the time! I saw this place a while back as I was working directly across the road from there, and I really do regret not checking it out at the time. I was a very comfortable experience visiting the place, and it was a good choice for us that day as my cousin visited us from Bristol! I would definitely recommend this place and will be visiting more often!”

“Who knew that some of the best food I would have in London would be in the restaurant below the hotel I am staying in. I thought I was slumming it by eating in the hotel. The mushroom ravioli was superb. The arugula and parm crisp really made this dish over the top good. The kale and bean side dish was perfectly prepared, inspired even. The lounge atmosphere was relaxed and comfortable. Overall, a wonderful dinner for my last night in London.”

    Kurisu Omakase

    ★★★★★ 4.8

“What an experience this was! For any Japanese cuisine enthusiast this is a a wonderful experience. The Omakase is 18 courses with only 8 seats in the restaurant, so booking is essential, with a £25 per person booking fee to ensure attendance. The ambiance is calm and welcoming, and the diner is taken on a gastronomy journey of different entrées and sushi, expertly explained by the head chef who also has his family helping out along the way. The experience comes with a price tag, but comparatively vs other west end Japanese restaurants, this is unbelievable value with the same quality of ingredients. One of my favourite dining experiences to date and would absolutely recommend.”

“After arriving at St.Pancras we we're longing for a good breakfast. I booked in advance to avoid disappointment if the place was packed. I checked the website for specials before arrival so I knew they had some interesting christmas specials. I chose the naan with honeyglazed pigs in blankets one of the specials. It was so good with two perfect runny sunny side up eggs. Combined with my bottemless Chai and a few sips from my daughters mango lassi made it the perfect start of a very busy day. My partner had the full Bombay which you can't go wrong with when you are a big ester and our daughter had childrens size cinnamon pancakes with cream and fresh fruits. All the food was amazing and most of the staff were great. The location is also beautiful. I love how the buildings got made into a new destination! Fyi I know the pictures of the food might look underwhelming but the flavor explosion is real. I choose flavor over aesthetically pleasing food any day.”

    Manthan

    ★★★★☆ 4.7
    Open

“Manthan completely changed the way I think about Indian food. Their £30 Festive Linner is incredible value — six well-executed dishes with Michelin-level finesse. The Ghati Masala Prawns and Buttermilk Chicken were standout starters, and the Tulsi Chicken Chop was beautifully grilled. Both mains were flavourful and comforting, especially with the dal, rice and paratha on the side. Service was warm, and the peacock-blue townhouse setting in Mayfair feels elegant without being pretentious. A fantastic spot for refined Indian dining at a very reasonable price.”

    Abeno

    ★★★★☆ 4.7

“Abeno is an outstanding Japanese restaurant that specialises in the Kansai variant (also called “Osaka style”) of okonomiyaki. Given the glowing appraisals it has received from other Maps reviewers, my partner and I decided to book ourselves in for a special occasion. Upon arrival, we were greeted warmly and ushered into the restaurant’s cosy interior. Our server took the time to explain the range of okonomiyaki available and the nuances that distinguish one style from another. Each table was attended to by a dedicated staff who - part guide, part chef - skilfully prepares the dish before their patrons’ eyes on the teppan grill. The result is a service experience that feels both personal and interactive, fostering a sense of intimacy and care that few establishments in London manage to achieve. After we devoured our Okonomiyaki of choice - the Tokyo and Osaka variant - we concluded our meal with their award-winning matcha ice cream. While the service at Abeno borders on exceptional, the food itself was, to our palates, somewhat more understated. To be clear, there is nothing substandard about Abeno’s offerings - far from it - but having had the privilege of sampling okonomiyaki across Japan, Hong Kong, and Singapore, I found the flavours here comparatively restrained. Setting aside the price, which runs nearly three times what one might expect to pay in parts of Asia, the pancakes lacked the robust, punchy seasoning that gives the dish its signature character. The Tokyo okonomiyaki in particular felt a touch under-seasoned, and the same might be said of their much-lauded matcha ice cream. While I appreciated the delicate tea notes and subtle sweetness, the texture fell short of the velvety smoothness one associates with Japanese dairy desserts. That said, to focus solely on these shortcomings would be to overlook what makes Abeno such a delight. The sheer attentiveness of the staff, the warmth of the atmosphere, and the simple joy of watching your meal come to life on the grill combine to create an experience that transcends mere taste. There is a sense of theatre and authenticity to the process - one that feels lovingly faithful to the spirit of Kansai cooking. All in all, Abeno remains an experience worth seeking out, not only for its well-executed okonomiyaki but for the generosity of its hospitality and the care with which each detail is considered. It may not transport you entirely to Osaka, but it offers a thoughtful and charming homage to its essence - right in the heart of London.”

We tried bastilla, fish tagine, and green tea, and everything was exceptional in flavour, balance, and presentation. Each bite revealed tiny details and layers of care, even when the ingredients looked simple. Special thanks to the chef for his attention to both service and detail. “We had bought an air fryer about a year ago but unfortunately had a problem with it and needed to return it. I phoned the store and spoke to a lady whose name was Caroline, I told her the problem and she apologised and then asked if I had the receipt so that I could return the product. I had not kept the receipt but instead of that being the end of the matter she asked for the details from my Lakeland card and then trawled through the system and found my purchase. As I could not get to the store that day she said that she would leave the details at the tills and inform her colleagues. I went to the store the next day and on speaking to a member of staff at the till, (sorry I did not take her name but on a new till receipt her operator number is 5180088) and she was aware of me coming in. I returned the product without any quibble and when I asked for a straight swap, although I wanted to change brands and pay extra, she advised me to take a refund instead and then buy the new product so that I got the full 3 year warranty which I did and then she told me that I had a £30 voucher on my card which I did not know and used to complete the purchase. The customer service that I received and the friendliness of both members of staff was excellent and I would formally like to congratulate them and the store in a manner that in my opinion went above and beyond what they could have done. Before retirement I worked in retailing for some 36 years and put great value on customer service. Kind regards Robert Holmes”

We’ve tried all the gyoza and almost all of their Sushis and have trouble deciding which ones top the list as they are all so good. The chicken Katsu curry is a staple for us and is highly rated by us along with the Salmon Bento box. The family that run Edo are lovely and always so helpful with really great recommendations. Service is quick and we’re never rushed. Clean, peaceful and comfy place to go for a casual midweek dinner or even a weekend date night. Highly recommend the place! ❤️”
