“It was our 2nd visit, and it was still the same warmth by the staff. Despite being a late entry to the restaurant, the chef made a special chicken starter for us, fingerlicking delicious. The Malaysian chicken curry was full of flavours. And the Thai chilli prawns were amazing with jasmine rice”

Chow mein was not the best (noodles maybe overcooked, and didn't slide as much as I'd expect and not sure I recall any beansprouts) but perfectly tasty. S&S Chicken balls all good, fried rice very good. Totally stuffed us 5 for forty quid so nice price too.”

“Stopped by Pearl Liang for Sunday dim sum—lucky for us, only a short wait since it was just two of us. Food came fast and every bite was delicious—properly made dim sum. Service is all about efficiency—quick, no-nonsense, get-things-done style. Don’t expect slow chats or lingering service, but that’s exactly what makes it great. A solid go-to for tasty, reasonably priced dim sum.”

“It was Lunar New Year and so I decided I'd try Wei Dao and I took some fortune cookies with me too. The ladies working there were really nice. It was not busy on Friday night, I encourage people to dine in and ditch the takeaways. It's reasonably priced and had some fun pop tunes playing in the background.”

“Went here with work colleagues and had a lovely time. Really special unique restaurant on a boat on the lake at Regent’s Park. It was a freezing evening but we received a warm welcome and soon warmed up. Our party was 8 of us and we were taken care of very well. The food is fantastic, so tasty and cooked to perfection. The cocktails and wine were also good. We were not rushed and service was outstanding. Lovely place which I will recommend and return to.”

“Nice dim sum place. Very Cantonese. During weekend they don’t allow reservation, so walk in only. There is already a long queue before 11am on Saturday morning. And they need to the whole group to be present to let you in. The place is huge. Food is fast served and tasty.”

“Ping Pong is a great place to come for gluten free dim sum and more! The menu is very straight forward as to what is gluten free, with a good amount of options. I highly recommend trying a little bit of everything since the portions are sized to where you can do this. The food comes out piping hot and fresh, and is extremely tasty. The place itself can be a little noisy, but worth it for the food!”

“Been going here on and off for a long while and the food is reliably tasty. The food is reasonably priced and the chaps are jolly nice. The wife is a vegetarian so tofu is a must and Suey Hong provide jolly succulent tofu in various sauces. Long live Suey Hong on Globe Road.”

“I’d suggest to order for collection, as the shop is very small and does not appear to have a seating area. The food is prepared within 15 mins. My friend and I ordered beef fried rice, egg fried rice and salt and pepper wings. The fried rice looked well seasoned and tasted it too. This humble dish by far superseded my expectations, as the flavorsome rice had strong hints of soy sauce and was surprisingly very spicy! This tasted less authentic Chinese but I didn’t mind one single bit as I for once didn’t feel like I needed to add soy sauce or chilli myself, for flavor wise, the rice was cooked just to my Asian palette and liking. The wings were crispy and salty as they are meant to be. 10/10!”

“First time visiting Mandarin and we had a wonderful evening. I was craving Chinese food and this really hit the spot! We had no reservation but called 10mins before and the staff were super friendly and warm. We had looked at the menu beforehand & ordered the vegetarian starter plate for 2 - a great selection, and we really loved the salt&chilli broccoli, and satay skewers. I would definitely have the brocolli again! (Spring rolls could have been a little bit crispier) Staff were attentive and warm, decor was lovely and it was a relaxing & enjoyable experience (unlike some restaurants that rush you!) We weren't rushed to order mains, and were really impressed with our black bean mock duck sizzler. We were a bit too full but have leftover Singapore noodles as takeaway. Great veggie & vegan options with lots of range & clear labelling (sometimes very hard to come by!) We will definitely be back. Thank you Poona for a lovely evening”

“Very good food in a typical Chinese dim sum restaurant. The dim sum are home made. One can tell because they are fresh and made w good ingredients, while dim sum restaurants use l frozen package food. Ambiance of the restaurant wasn’t great, noisy w tired decor. Service staff were very friendly. One can tell the food is good when most customers were Hong Kongers”
