“The food is impeccable. Every time we try a different food on the menu and it is always delicious. Although everything is amazing, the lamb chops and chicken wings need a special shout out. Definitely the best in south london. The staff is always lovely and friendly. Nice music, great atmosphere. Overall it is a must visit.”

“What a lovely old school Italian restaurant that is reminiscent of how original family restaurants were years ago. Staff are so welcoming in true Italian fashion from the moment you enter, and I have never been asked anywhere so fast if I want a drink! All food that comes out of their kitchen is cooked fresh and with heaps of love - the salmon and crab duo starter kicks the flavours off, and the scallops are big, fresh and cooked in an eclectic harmony of flavours of wine, cream and stock. Even the accompanying rice is firm, meaty and also cooked in the same. Meal for three and with bread, wine, water and service under £150 which is pretty reasonable for all what we had.”

“I came to Penelope’s for lunch with my partner and two friends on Thursday afternoon. The food was absolutely phenomenal and the restaurant was beautifully decorated for Christmas, the location of the restaurant is stunning with lovely views all around. It’s definitely a hidden gem in the community, if you haven’t checked it out yet you definitely should. To eat we had a few items off the lunch menu which they serve between 12.30-4pm, my friends had a cheese and bean jacket potato and a chilli jacket potato both came with a side salad and they were delightful, the potato was lovely and soft inside and the fillings were loaded! My partner had a fish finger sandwich and I had an amazing falafel, hummus wrap which had roasted red peppers inside, the falafel was delicious I will definitely return for that alone. We also tried from the festive drinks menu an orange hot chocolate which was really delicious and looked beautiful too! We all cleaned our plates and left very full and satisfied, we will definitely be returning especially with all the exciting things they have going on over the Christmas period, the staff recommended us to check out their instagram to see their upcoming events and we’ll definitely come to bring the kids to meet Santa in their Christmas grotto!! If you haven’t been down to Penelope’s I’d recommend popping down, we’ll be trying their pizza next as that looks unreal too!!”

“Lovely pasta with tomatoe sauce. Very friendly Staff. Service was very good when it was very busy. Pasta arrived within 10 mins,and was very hot. Nice cold 7up free with nice clean glass. Spoke to Manager,and told him restaurant was run brilliant,and to keep up the good work 10/10. He was very happy,and offered me a free strawberry ice cream. Good karma is always rewarded.”

“I had received flyer through my door some time ago and waited for a chance to try it. I was not disappointed as I took my four friends for a meal. The food was extremely delicious and the prices were reasonable. The staff were very attentive and caring. I thoroughly recommend it if you fancy a meal in a nice cozy restaurant.”

“I booked an afternoon tea in a pod for myself, my mum and my aunt today. I have to say that Fiona was absolutely AWESOME!! She attended to our every request with a smile and some great chatter. Fiona is a true asset to the Mulberry Tree at Ruxley! GIVE HER A RAISE!!! The food was outstanding too. A really lovely afternoon tea with the best scone I have ever had in my life. So thank you to Fiona for making our afternoon so special. And thanks to the kitchen for the beautiful food. I booked this afternoon tea as an early Mother’s Day treat and I am so glad we went. “2020 hasn't been a great year for restaurants (ain't that an understatement) but if you want an outstanding sushi experience at home then you really must try Komakai. You won't find better sushi in London. Seriously. Great quality ingredients and clearly a talented chef. If you're missing those nights out in London then definitely give Komakai a go. Can't recommend highly enough. 5 stars”

The venue is lovely the food is fresh, succulent and mouth watering with their own twist in every dish (who knew pomegranate went so well with a breakfast).
