“We turned up as a party of 5, late notice on a Sunday evening after a long drive from the West Country. Despite the kitchen about to close, the lady who served us was extremely accommodating and we were soon served with absolutely lovely Sunday roast dinners; delicious food and plenty of it, nothing was too much trouble. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. Lovely atmosphere and a nice clean and friendly pub.”

They had a great rule of no phones or laptops which encourages real interactions. Definitely recommended :)”

“THIS is the pub to go to if ever you have the chance. And if you've been before, but not since late 2023 - ga again. New, young owners have revitalised the Tavern whilst keeping all the old, well lived traditional features. The food is fantastic, dogs are very welcome. There is even home-made doggy ice-cream, dog snacks and hand-made dog leads for sale. There's a small tuck shop and board games for kids. Lovely walks all around. WINNER OF PUB OF THE YEAR 2025.”

“I took my friend to show him what I think is one of the most amazing pubs in Manchester, with great history, however when we visited at about 14.20 on Wednesday ( just in case the owner wants to speak to her ) the person behind the bar was the most miserable, unpleasant, uninterested bar person I have come across in a long time , she even struggled to ask for our order she was so disinterested Even when people were coming in from graduation, who were all very excited she just couldn’t be bothered speaking to anyone , apart from her friend at the end of the bar If I do visit again , and she is there we will just walk straight out and go somewhere we are welcome”

    The Molly House

“The Molly House in Manchester’s Gay Village is a cosy, characterful bar and eatery that blends Spanish and South American tapas with a relaxed pub atmosphere. The food is consistently praised for its flavour and presentation, with dishes like octopus and ox cheek standing out. The drinks menu is extensive, featuring a wide selection of craft beers, wines, and spirits. The interior combines rustic charm with vintage decor, creating a welcoming environment. Service is friendly and attentive, contributing to a pleasant dining experience. While the location is slightly tucked away on Richmond Street, it's well worth seeking out for quality food and a warm atmosphere.”

“Only came in for a quick drink. Decent pub, well off the beaten path. Car park for 15/20 cars over the road. Loads of beers on tap. Food did look incredible. But didn’t have personally. Would recommend booking if going for food - not too many tables inside as it’s quite a narrow pub, none the less, still good. And dog friendly. Decent playlist on, Atleast the short time we was there. With sky sports on tv.”
