“Decided to give our local a go having seen the refurbishment happening. We weren’t disappointed. Our dog was welcomed in too. Lovely atmosphere, great jukebox and the drinks are well priced and served with a smile. The landlord is a lovely guy, very friendly and chatty. Can’t wait to spend some time in the beer garden in the summer too.”

From the classic Sunday roast to the rotating chef’s specials, the food is consistently 10/10 — it’s far beyond what you’d expect from pub food and easily rivals high-end restaurants. Every dish is beautifully presented, full of flavour, and perfectly cooked. Portion sizes are generous, and the prices are almost unbelievable given the quality you get. “A charming little restaurant with beautiful, wholesome, Polish food. The service was excellent too, the team were super friendly and very keen to chat! The food arrived promptly and everything was clearly freshly made and tasted delicious. We had starters and mains washed down with honey beer (yum!) and finished off with homemade Polish cakes. The portions were generous too. I would definitely go back, we had a great experience.”

“A recent restaurant change has been very positive. The breakfast/brunch menu is phenomenal, with an absolutely delicious range of choices especially the veggie breakfast with black pudding! Scrumptious Sunday roasts and a weekly burger night are really good value. Such a friendly place with great service. These local community based places are so important, locals should make the visit it's so worth it.”

“Nipped in for a meal being intrigued by the name of a pub as The White Lion with the picture of a zebra on the pub sign. The pub is under refurbishment. The service was perfect. We had 3 roasts and we were struggling to eat all of the food. One small criticism - the food was not hot enough. I made a special request about my drink and it was not a problem for the barman to accommodate it.”

“Had a lovely meal, the chef even offered to make something not in the current menu, after there wasn’t a great deal of choice for a vegan diner. The waitress Katie was very hospitable, and went above and beyond to make the whole experience even better. Atmosphere was great even for a Tuesday evening. Will definitely be returning”
