“Tried here for the first time today when we arrived we were greeted with open arms and seated straight away which was a shock because it was soooo busy..the food was really good with a very generous portion and really good value for money.. Drinks menu was massive and beer and cider was so cheap.. Excellent place and well worth a visit..”

“First time visited. I'll be back!!!!! Lovely atmosphere and the staff are brilliant. Very informative, friendly, and happy. The building has a rich history, and I think it is either the 1st or 2nd oldest pub in England - I may have this wrong, but it's a beautiful building. .....and the cider, oh my goodness!! The rhubarb and ginger cider is like fruit juice. I think it was 7%, but so yummy, and very more-ish -BE CAREFUL. Can't wait to go back. I've put 5* for food, it was the most tasty pastie.”

“This is a really good pub with a great range of beers, very good food and excellent service by attentive, friendly staff. After we’d had a kitchen nightmare at home, we phoned the pub on the off-chance and they fitted our group of 5 (and 2 dogs) straight in for a super Sunday lunch. We were looked after superbly and can’t speak highly enough of the team and quality of our roasts!”

“Went for a family 50th birthday, pre booked online which was very easy to do. Tables ready as we arrived, staff attentive, very friendly and looked after us all really well. Food is lovely, catered for all ages and requirements. Staff even presented me with a birthday card and a beautiful dessert trio . Highly recommend.”

The food is always lovely and Rachel the landlady is such a great host and runs a tight ship, the young new staff are all very friendly and professional, today was no exception with a lovely young man serving us and making sure we were looked after. “Diggle lock is a must visit in the Oldham/saddleworth area I’ve been lots of times it’s always great and the staff a super friendly. My favourite at the moment is the steak and eggs with halloumi on the side. The peach ice tea is a must try also!”

“I cannot fault this Inn! Having wanted to visit the Navi for a few years after visiting the area. I finally got around to it this weekend. What a treat! The Inn is very welcoming and cosy as soon as you walk in and has been finished to a high standard. However, the true gem in the crown is the food! A great selection to meet any requirements and a fantastic list of specials! All the food was delicious, and I would highly recommend it to all!”

“Came here after a dog walk at teatime for some food with the dog. Had Thai food and it was absolutely lovely. Sat by the bar with the food as we had the dog and absolutely loved it. “Our ”Tuesday club” went to birdandbeemcr today for the first time. They were 5 of us (usually 7) and we all opted for the bacon bun. Now this was not just any bacon bun - it was filled with crispy streaky bacon, with a cheesy, sumptuous little omelette on top - some of us had it on brioche & some on local sourdough. With pot of freshly brewed tea to go with it, it was delicious. One of us had a latte which was very professionally done too. They’ve only been open for a week but we’ll definitely to back to sample more great food. Sorry I didn’t take a pic but I’d finished it before I remembered!”

“Had the carvery. All the vegetables were lovely, perfectly cooked. Roasties would have been nicer with a fluffier type of potato. Roast beef beautiful. Perfect apple crumble with loads of custard. Lovely waitress and lovely manager from the Hesketh which closed down and is still missed.”
