She listened to my requirements, offered suggestions and was very knowledgeable. I really enjoyed my pamper session, particularly the scalp massage during the conditioner application...so relaxing! I am very pleased with my newly styled hair and have already made my next appointment with Sophie . Cobane offers a stylish, comfortable salon with friendly and helpful staff.”

“Visited Grindhouse for a quick bite and a coffee to avoid the usual big chains that you can't move for falling over. Friendly staff and service. Had scrambled eggs on sour-dough and I have to say - eggs are easy to get completely wrong and I was very happy that these were completely right! The coffee was also very, very good. My better half had the French toast and reported that it was "very nice" (high praise!) and just the right amount not to make you feel like Jabba the Hutt.”

“I visited Costa Gatley Sunday afternoon — a clean, well-maintained store with a cosy atmosphere and a good selection of food options. However, what stood out during my visit was an interaction at the till that left me quite surprised, and not in a good way. When I ordered a medium hot drink, the young girl serving me actively discouraged the choice. She suggested I go for a smaller size, saying: “There’s not much difference in size — go for the small and save some pennies.” As someone who has run a business for over a decade, I found this quite concerning. In most places, staff are trained to upsell — encouraging customers to consider larger sizes or additional items, which is standard practice in retail and hospitality. Her approach, while possibly well-intentioned, directly goes against basic principles of sales and revenue generation. Encouraging customers to spend less, especially unprompted, may seem kind, but it’s ultimately damaging to the business. In my view, this isn’t just unprofessional — it’s a risk to the long-term health of the store. Costa may want to consider reviewing training procedures to ensure staff understand the balance between customer service and commercial awareness. Thank you”

“If you need bits and bobs for arts and crafts or if you're like me and need materials in bulk for a little project in my room I definitely recommend hobby craft. Took me a few journeys back and forth but the staff were so helpful and asked for an update when it was done, so here it is!”

We finished with some mochi ice cream for dessert, which was super tasty and nicely presented. The service was quick and friendly too. The flavours were on point, loads of topping, and it all arrived piping hot. The garlic cheese bites were proper cheesy and the peri peri chicken had a decent kick without being too spicy. Definitely one of the best Papa John’s orders I’ve had. Will be ordering again soon!”
